I read in several comments that the violin and the harmony vocals are outstanding, and I agree, but expressed that way it sort of diminishes the greatness of the lead vocal performance, and I found it no less than amazing. There was nothing in the whole work that I could fault. As a cover it is unbeatable.
Saw Dylan sing this live in England in the 70s. This is so well done, takes me right back to Blackbushe Festival in 1978. Eric Clapton, Graeme Parker, Lake and Joan Armatrading all played there too. Clapton played on Dylan’s encores. About 250,000 people there. Desire is my favourite Dylan album too. 🙌🙌🙌🇬🇧
One of the magic moments of my life , me and a friend rode down from Birmingham on two motorcycles ( with his girlfriend of the time , now my wife ) after the gig it was so chaotic that we couldn't find our rides in the dark , so we gave up and joined some Hippy's round their camp fire . Finally rode home in the dawn, chasing the sun rise along the county lanes. Life does not get much better .
Wow !! Phenomenal, I've just came across this, thank you very much. Definitely one among some of my favorite Dylan pieces but it's great when you see artist who are inspired by others. But definitely a great version that you have done, ... especially as she drew me in and led me over to hear this.
