So you must speak 500 languages to make such a declaration. You mean 'in the English language'. And Dylan is greater than Shakespeare because he explores deep states, while S. was a dramatist. Dawrin said that he tried to read S. dozens of time and each time felt nauseated. Cause it's 'theatre'. Dylan is a poet.

I suspect Dylan actually has deep deep regret of his actions. I’m a fan of Dylan but you wonder why certain people are held higher than others and more importantly what they had to do to get there, suddenly it tastes sour not sweet.

Even when he uses more nasal in his voice, he still hits the right notes and carry the tune. If you don’t like the tone of his voice, that’s your opinion. But you can’t say he’a bad at singing.

To the mellow smokey voice in Blonde on Blonde to the country crooning in Nashville Skyline to the completely heartwrenching power of Blood on the tracks and Desire, for me he's one of the Best singers of all time.

    Your daddy, he's an outlaw
    And a wanderer by trade
He'll teach you how to pick and choose
And how to throw the blade
    He oversees his kingdom
    So no stranger does intrude
His voice, it trembles as he calls out
    For another plate of food
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
    To the valley below
    Your sister sees the future
    Like your mama and yourself
You've never learned to read or write
There's no books upon your shelf
And your pleasure knows no limits
Your voice is like a meadowlark

The entire Desire album is incredible.....one of the things lost today where people just buy the hot tune and download it, they miss out on possible gems of the album not being touted by the record companies.....I can't tell you how many times I bought albums for a song, and later, that song wound up being my 3rd or 4th favorite on the album. On this album, check out the story of Isis.....or his then current love interest, later to be ex wife, Sarah.....actually, every song.....Dylan was giving advice to another writer in Greenwich Village, and told him "Take them over the hills and into the valleys" meaning, get very specific with the stories.....paint a beautiful picture with the words. When you listen to a Dylan song, you may as well be saying you are watching it, because like a great book, they always create a movie going through your head with a full storyline with the mind allowed to visualize the characters.

Alweer "a timeless masterpiece".
