    Thank you for the starting point settings, I am going to try it on my 50w fiber laser

    Nice video. Going to try leather this weekend. What is the best way to clean up? The start line on the co2 cut left a little area from where the laser started the cut. what would be the best way to clean it up?

      If it's real leather, you can wet it to see if you can get that off. I actually defocus by about 2mm and I don't have that problem when cutting.

    Thank you for this, nice job! Are those magnets holding the leather in place?

      Yes, that's correct.

    I'm trying to dial in my settings on my 35/100 for veg tan leather. Can you share your cut settings? I'm also getting so much char/soot on my engraves.

      So, I have a 24/60, but if you just notched up the speed/power slightly you should be okay. I also defocus by about 2mm. That helps with the soot. I also turn off my air almost completely. My settings for leather are: Engrave at 500/18 and Cut at 16/60. Hope this helps.

    Great video, thanks
    Where do you get your leather patches, any recommendations?

      We actually buy our leather at Tandy Leather, but for leatherette, we get them from various places, but JDS seems to be best for us.

    What kind of air brush would you recommend

      I'm not familiar with air brushing. Sorry.

    How long did it take to engrave/cut that patch with the CO2 laser?? Thanks

    Can you cut leatherette patches on a fiber laser? Would love to see a video on this!

      That may be a possibility, but I've only ever purchased the sizes that we needed for engraving.

    How did you change your Frequency? Mines is limited to 20 on lightburn.

    • @RomikaDesigns
      @RomikaDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Frequency is in the Lightburn settings for your specific fiber laser.

    Awesome video. Question for you, OMtech is sold out of 30W. If I were to purchase the 50W, how much different would the settings need to be for leather specifically?

    • @RomikaDesigns
      @RomikaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The settings would be different, but I'm not sure how exactly since I don't use a 50w fiber. For the record, I do have a 30w OMTech fiber for sale if you're interested. Email me at ron@romikadesigns.com if you are.

    Looks like you're getting a lot of soot on the CO2 when it initiates the cut process. If you started with a lead-in from off of the product area, that sooty spot would be on your waste material, not your final product.

      Great idea! Thanks, @DerekHubbard! Will try that.
