I want to live in this part of the movie. I know it’s supposed to be the Great Depression and not fun, but it just looks like such a simpler time. I’ve always been enthralled with this part of our country’s history and the birth of the stereotypical American hobo.

Welch's version almost assuredly gets the most mistaken listens to of any songs ever of people looking for this song. I love seeing the scene with the two boys carrying the ice blocks. That's how food was refrigerated then. Sometimes we get so far ahead of ourselves I think we lost something.

The movie was too cheap to pay the Kossoy Sisters so they had Alison Krause do a version (which Alison intentionally flubbed to stand up for the Kossoy Sisters).
