W Polsce jemy różne pierogi. Jemy też z kapustą i z grzybami. Z soczewicą. Z kaszą gryczaną i serem. Moje ulubione to z jagodami i polane śmietaną. Mogą być też z wiśniami i z truskawkami. Gdzie Ty teraz jesteś? Czy już w Polsce?
@@uprising1468 oh, well, that's completely normal, we eat sauerkraut at least once a week and it's very healthy for your gut by the way. But fresh onion is definitely not my cup of tea, I only tolerate it in a burger.
@qPolakq it's an acquired taste understandably. That's why I use green onion. It's very light in flavor but brings out alot of color to a dish. Sort of like on placki ziemniaczane with beefy mushroom sauce
There are also sweet pierogi with fruits like strawberries or blueberries. Lately I tried even with mango 😅And sweet ones you can eat with milk and sugar.
Today I had pierogi with meat at my dinner. I also fried some onion with the butter and put it on pierogi. This is my favourite pierogi and pyzy gravy.
Hello Chris, Pierogi with potato and cottage cheese were not my favourite when I first time ate them and now I love them. Usually pierogi with potato or meat we eat with pork greaves and onion. Pierogi with spinach with garlic sauce. Pierogi with fruit or sweet cottage cheese with sweetened cream. The most traditiolal polish dinner dish is schabowy, potatos and mizeria ( cucumber salad with cream). Regards
Dear Chris. You could try drinking anything to your pierogi - tea, coffee, apple juice - but I think a particular good thing is a Polish soup called barszcz czerwony {red borscht). You can buy a powdered one and just pour over with boiling water into a cup. As to pierogi you haven't yet - we eat them with fruits in the summertime! And I once had pierogi with spinach, they were tasty! :D
What I almost every time say in such tests is that pierogi are great, but a lot of depends on how they were made: - what ingredients were used - what was measurements/ratio/weights when it comes to those ingredients - basically what was the recipe for the filling and for the dough - if filling were ground (for example meat) how well it was done - here i must say that I hate store bought ones where in most cases it's like pulled meat that later on was aditionally grounded, which testes like pate or even like a dry dust... - did you ate them with some additional sauce, dip, sour or sweet cream, some garnish? So many, many variables, sometimes because of those variables we might end up with something more similar to japanese gyoza, german maultaschen or georgian khinkali most of them people would consider different type of dumpling, what is the difference from them and polish piergi then? Well i would say 4 things: 1. obviously: shape, thickness of the dough, and dough to filling ratio 2. that beside popular steam or boilng we also have variants where we fry or bake them 3. we also have multiple sweet variants which are also awesome ^^ - that one I believe is most unique 4. even with sour variants we have like at least 4 of them that are considered "popular"
You can have pierogi with practically anything as the filling not only with meat and potatoes and sauerkraut, there's also twaróg, blueberries, strawberries, berries, spinach, and really I don't think I have yet come across a food which isn't put into pierogi.
for the different pierogi we have different things to add, for example from what my family ads to the pierogi for the meat pierogi and cabbage with mushroom pierogi my family fries some onion and bacon and puts that with sour cream on top of the pierogi, and for the cottage cheese, potato and fruit pierogi my family only ads sour cream with the addition of a little bit of sugar on top of the fruit pierogi
with potato and cottage cheese sour cream is the best with meat fried onion and smoked bacon, greetings from Braunschweig :D PS. you will blow your mind when you try a lot of varieties of pierogi in Poland, especially sweet ones, my favourie are with blueberries
Boiled pierogi are best eaten with sour cream or lard, cracklings and fried onion. Fried pierogi are also eaten with cream, but I like to eat them with ketchup🤫
You have to eat pierogi freshly made in Poland. As additions, you have onion, cream, red beetroot, etc. As for the types, there are probably 100 or maybe more. The traditional ones are with meat, cabbage and mushrooms, or those with cheese and change. But you also have it with vegetables and other meat or with sweet fruit. When it comes to German dishes, the cuisines sometimes simply duplicate each other due to their proximity. However, the tastes may be different.
W polsce je się bardziej pierogi gotowane (bynajmniej ja się najwięcej z taki spotkałem). Moje ulubione to pierogi Ruskie. Tak w polsce nazywamy pierogi z ziemniakami i twarogiem (moja mama dodaje jeszcze boczku).
Pierogi z owocami np, jagodami z dodatkiem śmietany lub jogurtu typu grecki.
Chris, you were so interested in Polish history that you recorded your first film about pierogi instead of going to the Warsaw Uprising Museum of 1944. I gave you the address in the comments, in the previous episode.
The taste of ruskie pierogi (the potatoe ones) really varies depending on the cook. They're more difficult to make to be really great. A friend of mine adds mynth and that enhaces the taste marvellously.

There is 1 pieróg, there are many pierogi. I eat pierogi with chopped, fried onion. But pierogi with meat and the other kind with cabbage and mushrooms are very good with barszcz which is Borscht in German.
Fried pierogi I would eat it with sour cream and chives on the side or mushroom sauce for the meat-fried pierogi. Boiled pierogi with caramelized onion or fried butter, blueberry boiled pierogi with melted butter, heavy cream poured over it, and sugar. Sauerkraut w. mushroom pierogi always with caramelized onions. I never eat pierogi with nothing over them; they would be a bit dry, as you have said. It's what's on the top of them that will finalize the end result in taste experience.

I like adding sliced green onion on top with all that for a fresh crunch and light fresh onion taste to blend with the caramelized onion

Coś podobnego do pierogów mamy w niektórych zupach. Nie mają one zbytnio farszu albo wogóle a nazywają się uszka.
For pierogi you can use sour cream, thick 18-30%. Fried with meat, it is best to serve with red borscht in a drinking cup.
