However, he has been proving for years that his effectiveness in front of goal and pure shooting instinct are comparable. As for tactics at Bayern, it was not always the case that everything was for Lewandowski. In fact, it was only like that for 3 seasons. And Lewandowski's role changed over time.

You're not making a good point. Playing with those players for Suarez and Benzema meant they had to share their goals. Messi and Ronaldo were the main men while Lewandowski was the main man in his teams while Bayern literally won everything during his time there compared to the Barcelona v Real Madrid shared dominance. So for me, I respect their achievements in the order of

But in terms of who I regard as best and greatest

Lewandowski has better ucl records than Suarez clearly because Lewandowski played the competition more. But Suarez is the player that was able to sit on the same table with Messi and Ronaldo when they were dominating, since his Ajax days till Liverpool and Barcelona.

There's a difference when playing as a striker with other strikers. It eats into your goal tally.
But when you're playing with Messi (#1 assister in history) and Neymar ( top 10 assister in history). Along with xavi and Iniesta (although not for long).
Your goal tally will increase. It also gives you more freedom as defenders are forced to try and lock down those other players as well.
This is why Suarez best seasons are when he played alongside messi and Neymar.
Benzema created alot of chances. But he also has cr7, Bale, Marcelo, Kroos and modric feeding him.
The answer is obvious tbh you can ignore it if you want.

But my point is that Suarez was in that team, which means he wasn't the 'striker target man' Lewandowski was at Bayern, same way Haaland is now for City. Barca relied equally on the 3 players for goals which made them selfless as you can see with their stats. In fact, Suarez assisted almost as much as Messi and more than Neymar, which is why it was labelled as Messi & Neymar gifting him goals in 2016. And you can also see that in the of goal % for club compared to what Lewandowski had for Bayern or what Haaland would have today for City.
The same with Benzema at Madrid where Ronaldo was in fact the main scorer.
So we should both agree that the 3 of them had the ability to perform the same if they were in on another's condition as they are all brilliant. But their situations clearly affected their stats.

Suarez was beast, in Barcelona he was amazing and season 13/14 in Liverpool.. man the way he was playing was indescribable. Neither Benzema nor Lewandowski never played on such level. Lewy is great finisher, but he can't dribble and this is something you can observe in national team. Let me get this clear: Benzema doesn’t compare to those two. The question is now, whether Lewa or Suarez are better and here’s the answer: Suarez has adapted to the Barca playstyle while Lewa is more of an individual scoring machine. Both of them did their jobs amazingly and if it comes to player quality, they’re on a similar level if not the same one, but if it comes to being an actual striker and putting the ball into the back of the net, Lewa is clear. No doubt he’s better for this job.

We all agree its Lewa-Suarez but I think people underestimate Suarez. 2 points as to why I think Suarez is better:
1- The team. Bayern was a stats farm for Lewa(dominating in UCL & domestically easily). Compared to Barca & Liverpool(less consistent UCL & more domestic competition).
1b- Lewa was always the main man unlike Benzema & Suarez who shared goals with BBC & MSN.
2- Suarez is more of the dribble & score type than Lewa who is more one shot/tap in(in the box). We can see that in the assists & we all know the legendary liverpool Suarez.
Conclusion:
I take Suarez because despite all the handicap, he's level with Lewa in stats. He can create his own goals. As a full player, he's better.
To be fair, apart from Cristiano, I've never seen a more killer striker than Lewa(physical machines with the longevity and few injuries). Easy to say Bayern was an easier team to play for but ask Choupomoting how easy it is to kill every opportunity, scoring 30-40 goals every season.
keep in mind Lewy’s international stats, where hes got fantastic stats when Poland is a much much worse team than Uruguay

Suarez was the most sexiest on the pitch. It’s not only about one competition lol. However, if he joined Bayern or Barca in the beginning of his career, he would have played way more matches in CL and surely get over 100 goals. 27 goals and 26 assists is still insane in only 73. Suarez’s achievements are the best though and his prime was the best.
