My Grandfather was an Engineer On the " 20th Century Limited" of the New York Central RR . He started on the RR in 1897 and Retired in 1937 . He lived until 1952 when I was just a tiny toddler . But I do remember some of his Tales working and Driving the Hudsons and Mohawk Locomotives in WINTER ! Great Video THANKS for Sharing !
The print at the end was painted in 1924 for the New York Central by Walter L. Greene. It's titled, "When Winter Comes." Thanks for your very interesting comment!
It looks really awesome there with the snow all around the train station and the nice scenery especially the MA&N on the tracks until next time thank you.☕🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
I meet the Amish plowing the Town of Lee road’s north of Rome. I have them trained to move to left so I don’t have to raise my wing. Love your videos! Stay safe
Railfan Warrior! Out in the snow getting the plowing, the horse and biggie and the MA&N tracking clearing move. Crisp images. Steady shots. Locators. Very nice.
Hi from York, England - thank you for another great video. No snow like that here, I'm pleased to say, although it has been colder than usual. The MA&N's locomotives were certainly making short work of the snow clearing, and looked spectacular as they came past you. You must have been covered in it!
I didn't realize that this Railroad had 6 axel ALCOs. I had heard that the 6 Axels had tracking problems on marginal track so I assumed that no short line would use them and that they were mostly extinct. Awesome to see them. I live in former LC country/ALCOland (8 miles from Sayre PA).
I have some good friends that live in Holland Patent I graduated from there, now reside in usually sunny North Carolina, but we are waiting for big snowstorm today 3-6 inches 😂
Watching from Lowell NY, great catch of the MA&N flying down the line, hope you didn't get too hurt when the snow pile hit you, i think this same train that you've recorded here was also caught a little south of Holland Patent on Facebook
Whoa, that was some shot there! I bet that smarted! Did you get hurt in any way? The brush off after must have taken a bit. Did you have the camera in a special case? It's a wonder you still had it working afterward! Hugs to Witold, and may both of yoy stay well.😊
Not hurt in the slightest (but I don't think I'll opt to do that sort of thing again....). My camera had no special protection. It's an odd-looking device, a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Still works great!
Hi, that was nice to see, thank you - but I hope we don't get any snow like that in the UK - the whole Country would just come grinding to a halt, especially our Railway network.
We really haven't had much snow here in Milwaukee and for the most part is all melted. A very nice run by and I see you got covered from.head to toe but that photo was worth it. Witold played his cards right by staying indoors. Even the crossing signal bell was ringing faster apparently in an attempt to stay warm. Very nice coverage
One slight correction, RR. The Amish got their name from Jacob Ammann. The proper pronunciation is Ahh-mish. Keep these frigid videos coming... Appreciate your efforts. Cheers!
Can't imagine why they won't put reflective slow-moving placards on the back of those Amish buggies. Feel for those horses trying to make their way through traffic.

Great video bro.. That horse was well trained to wait for traffic.. The plow shot was incredible !!
Alot of snoww guys
Take care❤❤
From North Yorkshire, England. Thanks for a snowy video.
Finally got some snow here, 6 to 8 inches and minus 7 to minus 14 deg.C.

You ‘trained’ them?
@ just joking more like i constantly motioned them over lol
Thank you, I enjoy every video. Stay warm,Witold. I’ll be waiting for your next adventure.
Cool video RR! You got dusted! The Amish buggy was a nice touch too! Stay warm out there!
Yes, plastered from head to toe by ALCo-driven snow!

Great video . That rug at the office brought back childhood memories. Playing on the floor with my brother with matchbox cars😊.
Love it! A real winter. Haven't seen so much snow in long time.

Covered from head to toe! Took a good bit of brushing off!!!
Holland Patent looks like a nice little town. Thanks for the enjoyable video.
We had some snow recently in the UK so they just cancelled most of the trains as usual! great video, thank you for freezing to make it for us.😉🙃
Excellent video which I enjoyed watching 👍😁😁😁🚂🇬🇧
Beautiful video. Thanks. Watching in Miami.

Cool video and info!
Excellent! Witold was smart to stay in and stay warm. We are awaiting some more snow (1-3") southwest of you in Belton MO!
I've been through there, thanks nice video! 🎉
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO
So far this winter we've only had some dustings of snow here in Pottersville NY. I see you folks are having a more serious winter, Nice video.
Greetings and salutations from Tonawanda NY. Not much snow, but it is cold!
Hey rail rambler we have Amish buggies in Earlville also. I remember standing by tracks when plowing and letting train throw snow at me on NYSW RR. 🚂
Great video and information! Kind of creepy not even know where the tracks were until all the sudden the train started coming through!

Great video from Okeechobee Florida.
The horse and carriage was a definite bonus. Also a testimony to Japanese engineering that the camera survived that snow rush and cold wind.

Not hurt in the slightest!
WOW WOW WOW
Great video!
That was cool
thanks
Very picturesque place. Hope you didn't get snow down your collar when the plow went by. Vitold is a smart boy !!
I looked like a living snowman from head to toe
COOL VIDEO🚂✨☃️💨
Awesome vid. Just a heads up tho, the Amish gent.you shown he should have a slow vehicle placard on the rear of his buggy for safety..

@railroadingrambler218 WOW! Glad you are okay, and that it still works! Phew!

Which railroad built this station; The Black River & Utica, the Utica & Black River or the NYC?

Thanks very much! Yes, you could say I was bowled over....
One slight correction, RR. The Amish got their name from Jacob Ammann. The proper pronunciation is Ahh-mish. Keep these frigid videos coming... Appreciate your efforts. Cheers!
I was wondering about the correct pronunciation, thanks!
@railroadingrambler218 interestingly, the Amish refer to anyone who is not Amish as 'English", no matter their ethnicity
Got some snow in the face 😂😂 stay warm from a snowless...well a dusting Eastern Niagara County NY.
Huh a Horse & Buggy, who says upstate NY is a 130 years behind the times ! 😄
Can't imagine why they won't put reflective slow-moving placards on the back of those Amish buggies. Feel for those horses trying to make their way through traffic.
At least the Amish have 4 hoof drive....
LOL!!
Please don't film the amish. Don't you know that?
