It's so refreshing to see a tactic without the typical higher defensive line, higher line of engagement, more urgent pressing etc which everyone seems to use. Great work!
Enjoyable show. Thoughtful tactic by Santi. How to think in FM is a game changer. Great English as well from an Argentinian national. Thanks Santi and Daljit.
I use same ideas in a tactic with Bologna but with a 4-4-1-1 formation. I use lower linge of engagement as starting point but standard defensive line and trigger press 1 click below "middle". One difference is I force oppossition outside I use only vs teams that are clearly better. First season I won 7-1 vs AC. Milan at home, 2nd season 4-1 vs FC Bayern away, my favourite goal so far in this FM 4 players counter attack 2-touch ends up with a sitter. Against Liverppol I got smashed 5-0 and 3-0 but their team is to good I think for my Bologna who's a top half team still in Serie A. I've to say I don't use it in a lot of matches but it's my 2nd tactic and I pick a few matches each season.
Very well thought out. I would say from a pure match engine discussion, I would not drop the defensive line below standard regardless of how stressed I feel. Because that opens you up to the OP crosses along the byline. There's a reason not even Simeone can make the low block work consistently in game.
Great video. I was expecting at the end of the video the screen to go black and in white text say "3 days later, Santi contacted me to say he had in fact won the league and also the Champions League".
Haha, sadly we lost 4-2 on aggregate against Chelsea but it was pretty even. We lost silly points so not bundesliga BUT we won the German Cup 2-0 against Bayern with the same counter attacking strategy!
@@bosqueSP That's a shame, but at least you have shown a great tactic. I will definitely be looking at it more closely as I'd like to have a tactic where I want my team to ease off and to maintain the lead.
I would love to hear your thoughts on my take on a modern catenaccio. 5-3-2, its fairly aggressive, but does ask my team to regroup when losing possession. has been really solid defensively, and scores around 2 goals a game
I like how there are so few instructions in transition and defense - he let the players have the freedom to make good plays instead of just making his plays. The hyperaggressive style that is so dominant in FM play, and Im talking about streamers here, has to have that counter revolution soon. There has to be someone with some bravery to play position football instead of just mindless running up and down... There has to be a place in the current game for a skillful, creative player like Maradona (not necessarily the personality or the faults...) or a deadly surgeon like Eto'o to flourish, not just the player that is all lungs and legs. Whatever, I have a windmill to fight.
4-2-3-1 Positive Very Narrow Shorter Passing Play out from Defence Normal Tempo Counter Force outside Normal Line of Engagement Normal Defensive Line Normal Press Stay on Feet I over performed with Hamburg 1st season back into the Bundesliga. But I got found out 2nd half of the season and could very well blew top 4 ☹️. I got emotional and starting to chop and change, properly I will go back to basic and see out the season.

Everyone: the game favors gegenpressing tactics
Uncle Daljit and Santi: hold our beers 😂😂

Great video, great guest. Respect to River Plate and Argentina from England and Manchester United. 🔴⚪️🤝
Thanks man! Good luck in today's derby!

@@bosqueSP Since you're here, I'm curious if you used any particular player instructions in the tactic?
@@franckfm9181 Not too much. Only used tight marking on 3 midfielders and fullbacks. I want them to be close to oppositon to win second balls
@@bosqueSP Hello. Your tactics is really interesting. Do you use any player instructions?
Great video, great guest with his tactic. I would realy love to know how it perform on balanced pressing without dm there.

Great video! Would love to see how he set the opposition instructions
Hi! I only use hard tackling on central midfielders and central dms. The other instructions are in blank
4-2-3-1 Positive
Very Narrow
Shorter Passing
Play out from Defence
Normal Tempo
Counter
Force outside
Normal Line of Engagement
Normal Defensive Line
Normal Press
Stay on Feet
