I feel you are going to say carrillo or whatever it is called. I think DLP D is good.
There is no one role its the combination of the player attributes and traits the formation and the role of the rest the team

Pf-de is doing wonders for me, i'm predicted to finish last in Brazil league with náutico but i'm 3rd right now thanks to this guy. Works like a f9 on possesion and out of possesion he is everywere, presses the CBs, drops deep and became an adicinal cm when needed, really amazing

Agree with this hugely. Using your tactics from the 'Xavi's Barca' video. The game says Buendia was more suited to that right winger role, but i went with Bailey instead. Wow, just doesn't stop scoring and assisting.
TF on attack was a lot of fun for me. He creates so much space and gets lots of goals in.
inverted wing, with the module I created, they make me goals almost more than the striker, for example I had a player who in the first season made me 20 goals and 10+ assists, he became the legend of the club that same season, the player is called oliver batista meier, I am training Trnava
Yes i know him from last year FM, but not as good this year. One thing I like about him is that he"s good at setpiece.
Yeah he's better on FM21, but he's already been sold by Bayern in this FM I think. I loaned him last year on my St Pauli save.
@@davidrichards613 I took him when he was 23 years old, but now at 28 he wanted to leave, I found a better substitute, but he was the one who gave me the most satisfaction , always had the highest average vote of the team
Regista works wonders for me! I did make my entire tactic around the regista, and he’s on corners, but he gets the highest average rating every season
Also an interesting point. I saw another video talking about how good left WBs are when on set pieces. Could it also be that left footed wingers on those left hand set pieces are inflating ratings?
I've done the same thing for a long time.
Train them as IW but play as a W.
Ah yes! I forgot to add in the video about training! I'm too training them as IW (or IF depending on the players scoring skills)
@@RDFTactics 1 more thing, when you mention them crossing from deep, I think that's what the IW role is for.
@@RDFTactics I actually started using Pepe at arsenal as a winger man he just lights it up. I play a 424 with a target man on support so when he drops interestingly Pepe curves his run inward and is often one on one with the goal keeper. With the Mezzala and inverted winger I actually don't have an issue. The Mezzala collects the ball in deeper areas when Pepe is closer to the half space and when Pepe is out wide the Mezzala operates in the half space. I guess this is supplemented by the fact that my Target forward/ deep lying forward is dropping deep.
Advanced playmaker out wide with the free roam and sit narrower is OP for me as well.
Can confirm, one of my favorite setups in past edition was a 442 with wingers (role) that like to cut inside and are doble footed.
I knew about this role already with your help RDF Tactics, from your recent Xavi 433 formation. Tzolis was good in that role for me.
In defender : wide center back and libero is incredible
In midfield : deep lying playmaker (defend) at position defensive midfield , looks like pirlo
In attackers : advanced forward
Me playing A.C Milan until season 2076/2077 right now, 2 generation is retired and manage club as head coach, lol
Me playing formation , 3-2-3-2
3 cb : 2 ball playing defender (defend) + central defender (cover)
2 cm : deep lying playmaker ( defend ) + ball wining midfield (support)
3 behind forward : left : winger (support ) , advance playmaker (support ) right: inverted winger (atk)
2 forward : advance forward + false nine
It's counter-intuitive but it makes a lot of sense after playing 1500 games with a 4-3-3 in FM21. Two of my best forwards were wingers played on the right side. They were both right footed with Reasonable left feet and Cuts Inside from Right Wing. They'd score 15 goals per year, but they'd get 15-20 assists from deep crosses or left-footed passes to the opposite winger or mezzala.

I had Yuriel Celli do this in my Vasco save, between FK, corners, penalties and general play, he would get 25+ assists and 20+ goals a season. crazy stuff
The ridiculous things with how the roles work with the ME is some of the most effective roles don't have many players suited to them. IWB is effective, winger on support is effective and Regista is effective, but really tough finding players 4 1/2 to 5 stars. Finding a left winger is almost non-existent to keep consistent as 4 1/2 to 5 stars. Best I've found is making Alphonse Davies into a left winger
Nice! I used to play Coman (FCB) as left Winger (Su) in FM19. Got the same behavior for crosses and goals. (Sry4 typos, mother tongue is German.)
Very interesting video. I was thinking that it is strange as it looked as if the players were playing like IW, but you said an important point: IW cut in, whereas the winger is already in that half-space. So, what would happen if you got a natural right footed winger playing on the right wing and gave him a remain narrow so they should be near the half space already?
My IW's from your bayern munich Jupp Heynkess tactic score lot's of goals despite having low finishing it's crazy.
Maybe not a single best role, but a DLP on defend with 2 Mezzale on attack causes chaos in midfield. Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it works against you, but because you're able to pull people out of position so much you can exploit lots of space with wingbacks and/or inside forwards.
Very good role. Used it with Ajax with Anthony and later Savio. Giving hem a free role with because they have good flair and dribbling. With a Inverted wing back on attack behind them. Won the CL in my 5th season.
Do you find that the same is found with the left flank? Playing a right-footed winger on the left? Or is this only for the right flank?
W on Attack on the right hand side has been absolutely busted for me. Signed a Colombian wonder kid to Sevilla and he averaged 7.5 for five straight years from age 17-23
So this would be great with 2 footed players with the trait 'cuts inside from both flanks'
For me, I think Enganche is the best role especially if you playing 4-2-3-1

@@RDFTactics seems very far fetched but I reckon you could get deadly runs from deep/ arriving in the box unmarked if you can get a CB with good off the ball/anticipation and some traits like “tries to beat offside trap” “arrives late in opposition box” and “gets into opposition box”. Maybe playing 1 - 2s would also encourage him to get further forward. Maybe I’m crazy though🤔😂
@RDF use the attacking midfielder Zakaharan (name maybe wrong) has three or four of the perfect traits for a libero.. he's been my best libero so far this year, again.. Still can't get it perfect though.
@@RDFTactics last FM I did a save with St Pauli and they had a guy Martin Knoll I think his name was, he was a CB but his best position was Libero as he had a thunderous shot and good passing. He'd routinely rock up and piledrive one in off the bar. He also hit a great FK.

Great video. Really struggled with getting enough out of IW or IF, even with world class players. Sounds like the match engine is a bit broken here if wingers are playing more narrow than those roles, despite clear player instructions to the contrary!

@@brotherbross9447 IWA or APA on the right. And he takes corners from the right. He's doing ok, not setting the world alight but its only season 2, after starting a new game with Everton.
So since the player basically ignores the hard coded player instructions to be able to do what you explain. Does that mean you need somebody with low teamwork? So he prefers his player traits over de actual instructions given to the W role.

As far as my best roles go, it’s vanilla but AFs have consistently been my best performers for the last few years xD

Wide target forward (on support). Any time I get a player that even remotely has the attributes for it, I play him in that role. Pretty consistently abuses any fullback I come across and regularly gets me 40+ goal involvements every season.
How do you use them? What sort of attributes do they need? I’ve never even tried them so I’m very interested!
@@josephchambers4509 I had Lucas Ocampos as a Wide Target Man on the Left in my Sevilla safe at the start of the year. Granted crosses were absolutely broken in that match engine. He managed to score just under 40 goals in the League, with most of them being crosses to the far post. I did play him on attack tho with my Goalkeeper kicking the ball to him as long as the FB was small, which they basically all are in La Liga 😂
@@josephchambers4509 its as it sounds, they're a combo of winger and target forward, so you need a winger who is strong in the air and has good attributes for link up play.
@@edubrooke2753 I find any tall winger does similarly well. It's often ignored on wide players but aerial ability is great on fullbacks defensively and wide players with an aerial threat will dominate the more common shorter fullbacks of opposition teams.

This was broken in FM20, and apparently still works very well.

In my opinion there is no such thing as the best role. Its more a case of the role fitting the tactic and supporting roles for the role in question plus the role fitting the player in the role
