Dear Missouri Star, This pattern was one of my very first projects and still love looking at it! I used brightly colored floral contrasting strips and it came out so great!
As always, your explanations and demonstrations are clear and easy to follow. Your enthusiasm makes the whole process fun and I always learn something new. Thanks.
I could watch you sew all day! I love your style, you make me believe I can quilt. I have made 3 tops AND 3 whole quilts since I started watching your youtube videos. Thanks for the confidence.
Dear Jenny I just have to say out of all the wonderful tutorials you and your lovely family make I always keep coming back to this little gem ❤ it. Would love to see a triple play on it…unless it’s slipped through the seams and I’ve missed it lol love to you all from UK😊
This is just perfect for some fabrics I have been hoarding and didn't know what to make! So this is it, thank you so much! Mine will be navy, lime and white!
Love your music and instructions. You inspired my very first quilt (all pinwheels) and now I'm own to paper foundation piecing and a sampler block quilt (I also used your disappearing pinwheel and friendship star) as two of the blocks. Luv ya. thanks
I excited to find this tutorial. I have been wanting to do a double friendship star quilt for Quilts of Valor and also I am expecting a grandson in a few months. I liked the yellow and blue together too.
My favorite because it's finished. Made this quilt for one of my grandsons, using jelly rolls and charm packs from MSQC. Used the same blue and green, but silver for the little diamonds. I've only been quilting for a couple of years but have made so many projects from Jenny's tutorials.
Jenny, Thank you so much for making Friday morning inspirational and fun with your wonderful tutorials. You brighten the day! This quilt is delightful too!
Loved it and want to make this one. I saw it on my face book group. One of my group fellow made it and I was trying to copy it by making separate little blocks and putting each block together then I got frustrated because I had to take the blocks apart so many times but in the end a 9" by 9" block was done. I didn't want to do it that way so I asked my friend if she can tell me where I can get this pattern and she told me. I am happy she did. And the way you showed was really easy. Thank you!
I can't wait to try this one! I drew it up and I think I figured out how to make it with four colors. I am going to use two main star fabrics, then match each of those with two secondary fabrics. So if red and blue were the two main colors, and green and yellow the secondary, I would have a red star with green in the top left and bottom right, and yellow in the top right and bottom left. It does not complicate the piecing too much and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
This one is so easy. I did need a little more fabric than a yard. But not much. And the little squares I had to get more. But other than that it went together in a snap. It was so easy .
I love this one. I wonder how it would look if you made one star a solid and then mixed up the other stars from a jelly roll? Guess I'm gonna have to try it!!! Thank you Jenny! You always make my Friday :)
If I want to make it bigger, like twin size, don't I just keep making more blocks? I thought I heard you say use bigger strips? Love your tutorial's Jenny. I am and have learned a lot from them. THANK YOU!!..
FYI: I bought 1 yd ea of 2 colors and 1/2 yd of white. I cut 2 1/2 " squares from the white and found that I only had enough for half the quilt. I had to get another 1/2 yd of white.
Please tell me where can I get a cutting mat like the white one you are using, and thank you for your creative ideas. I love all your videos and look so forward to Friday to see what new thing you have for us.
Hi, Jenny! What size block does this make? I need a good 9" block to work with some panel squares that I have. Thanks for all your tutorials, and especially for BLOCK magazine. It's beautiful, and I love the mystery story chapters in each issue!
I cannot thank you enough for this lovely tutorial ! It's easy to follow and the entire staff I am very greatful for your dedication to making this successful series ! I learn every time I watch how wonderful 💕
Another great one, Jenny! One more for my "to do" list. I love to make donation baby quilts. Also, just received #4 Block magazine. love. Do you have longer days than the rest of us? How do you do it? Keep it up. hugs to you.
I measure and measure but when I cut my 2 1/2 inch strips, my blocks come out slightly smaller than when I use jelly roll strips. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the newbie question but I have to ask.
Mary Buchholz I am making this quilt larger and used 3 yards of each of three colors (two for the stars and one neutral). I came up short about 4 jelly roll strips for the neutral. This gave me a 9 X 10 block quilt. The blocks are approximately 8.5" each. For borders I had to buy more yardage.
I am becoming addict of your work. Not one day pass without seeing as if you are playing n I get amaze . Thank you very much

Curiosity, Could/can you do this quilt with 5" strips?
Another great one, Jenny! One more for my "to do" list. I love to make donation baby quilts. Also, just received #4 Block magazine. love. Do you have longer days than the rest of us? How do you do it? Keep it up. hugs to you.
If you use a jelly roll for the contrast ... How much yardage do you need for the background?
How much yardage would I need to make a king size quilt? I would just buy yardage of two solids colors and yardage of white. :))
I measure and measure but when I cut my 2 1/2 inch strips, my blocks come out slightly smaller than when I use jelly roll strips. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the newbie question but I have to ask.
When I glance at this pattern I see solid squares and a four patch of hsts. That would be even simpler would it not?
Could you please start putting the yardage needed for all your quilts in the description box below the video?
Mary Buchholz I am making this quilt larger and used 3 yards of each of three colors (two for the stars and one neutral). I came up short about 4 jelly roll strips for the neutral. This gave me a 9 X 10 block quilt. The blocks are approximately 8.5" each. For borders I had to buy more yardage.
Are the blocks 8 inches
What would I cut to make a queen size
Hahaha, where can I get that extra arms😂😂😂😂😂😂
This may be a silly queston but how do you know you have the right sides together on solids? I can never tell. Thanks
+Ginger Bart that is a hard one! Honestly, I do not even pay attention to sides with solid fabrics :)
Thanks, I didn't know if there was a way and I couldn't see it.
I lost sound when she was measuring strips for cutting.
How many fat Quarters do I need for a queen size quilt?
It will depend a lot on your pattern and how you're slicing them up, Joni. A decent estimate would be about 40 fat quarters. Hope this helps!
i cant get it....
