- The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link ('MTHL') has been planned to facilitate decongestion of the island city by improving connectivity between Island city and main land (Navi Mumbai) and development of Navi Mumbai Region was envisaged about 30 years back. Itwas planned to build a bridge between Sewri on Mumbai Island and Nhava on the mainland (Navi Mumbai) in order to speed up the traffic between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai and also to facilitate the traffic from Mumbai to Pune and Goa.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji Inaugurated this Atal Setu on 12th January 2024.

I prefer India having world class infrastructure with toll tax rather than average infrastructure completely for free.

Between 15 - 17 minutes seen it looks like well developed country's world class infrastructure. 😮😮

Dude for overtaking u have to change lane
Just make sure that u change the lane atleast that much Metres earlier which matches with your car's speed.
For. Eg At 120 KMPH, change lane atleast 120 metres earlier from the car in front of you by giving indicator, looking at all the mirrors, having proper knowledge of the road in front of you. Giving two small beep horns atleast 40-50 metres back, changing the lane slowly, left foot ready for brake, left hand on the gearbox (in case of manual) and right hand on steering wheel.
At night must be more careful and not try to overtake if u don't have night driving experience for atleast 2 years for a mid range (1-2 hrs) journey.
Lane discipline is utmost important on express or free ways. Hope all users follow this
Teaching driving discipline (lane or speed) is a 1st-world concept... doesn't apply to indians!!!😂😂😂
Old route is 57 km, new is 22km. Maths for up-down is: old route -57*2 = 114 Kms, new route = 22* 2 = 44, difference is 70 Km less for new route. My vehicle gives mileage of 10km per litre, so it basically saves 7 litres of diesel for me, and saves 7*94 = Rs 658 for me. Out of which i give Rs 375 as toll, which gives net savings of Rs 283 per trip. Also, it saves 3hours-40 mins which is 2 hours 20 mins

One gets the same feeling as when the Vashi bridge at Thane creek was inaugurated in 1976. It saved 30 minutes travelling on the Mumbai Pune road! At that time it was an absolute technical marvel!

So many idiots stopped at the side of the road as if the road is meant for their recreation. You just can't have good things in this country without people behaving like this. Apparently, there are cameras every 300m that spot this behavior. The moment people are threatened with heavy fines, they fall in line.

Superb video, inspite of strict instructions not to stop vehicle for photo shoot,there were various people stopping vehicle's to take photos, it is been only a day, but if this is a regular feature then definitely it will lead to major accidents. The authorities should be very strict here.

I travelled the whole distance in this video and realized at the end I'm headed in the wrong direction. I actually wanted to see the other side of the bridge after crossing it. Like how to get to Panvel or Kalamboli McDonald's 🥴 after getting off the bridge at Chirle

I saw so many cars stopped on the bridge and the people were enjoying the view! But so many youtubers had earlier said that the stretch is full of cameras and police will come blah blah...that means the government is bluffing, either there are no cameras or they dont work 🤣

@@aniketathavale6874there are plans to introduce buses by BEST, NMMT and also a new Shivneri bus service using the MTHL
@@aniketathavale6874 The BEST has informed the government that they won't start bus services until toll is completely waived for them. They are basically bankrupt but have to pay 90 lakhs per year for the Dahisar toll. The State cabinet will take a decision about this.

Congratulations all for such international standard bridge ❤ but govt should have started EV bus to give such infrastructure benefit to mass Mumbai people. They can drop toll for buses. Hopefully govt will do that in future.
