- This video will go through the steps I took to replace the resistance motor in my exercise bike. I wasn't able to find other videos like this so for this bike so hopefully this helps.

Thanks for your video. Just bought this bike and the magnets are stuck in the highest resistance. After following the instructions in the manual to reset or recalibrate the resistance it was still giving the CHO 0 code. Then I went looking for info and found your video. Got a call to customer service to place an order for the replacement motor under warranty. Will watch again when it arrives in order to install.

@@holycrapimawesome sound like if you have this bike you should just call customer service and order the part ahead of time.. or just return it and get a manual adjusting magnetic bike from amazon.

How did you last two months with this issue?? You sound so chill and we are loosing it over here. Watched all your videos too. Props to you but you are a better person than us. CH0 can suck it!
Lol! Believe me this whole process was very frustrating. We almost returned the bike back to Costco. But we eventually got the correct replacement part from customer service and it has been working so far since this video. We are hoping we don't have any more issues.
I have the same bike, and like yours, mine is missing one magnet on the magnetic resistance assembly. There should be 4. There are 4 in the manual and there were 4 on the floor model in Costco and there are 4 on the Proform Carbon CX from Proform website and 4 from Sam's club varient.
Well I can say that there is definitely a reason this bike was such a good deal. Hopefully it lasts at least a year then we will probably upgrade to something that was built better. At least we got it from Costco which has an awesome return policy.
How the heck did you get those screws out???
I was experiencing the same issue....turned out the connections in the handle had come off....check all connections
prior to giving customer service a call!!!
Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper if they made the bike with a resistance knob, instead of that screen? Is there a way to modify the bike? so that I no longer have that error
I had the same issue. Changed my 3 AA batteries and it went away.

Ever have an issue with the seat post making an irritating creaking noise? It started on the very first ride for me. It does it whether the saddle is set for my height or my girlfriend's height. The noise is definitely coming from where the seat post slides into the frame. Loosening the height adjustment knob and retightening it will stop the creaking temporarily, but it comes back after 10-15 minutes.
Yep! Ours does it too. I have the instructor pretty loud, listen to music and have thr fan going so it's not terrible but still annoying.
@@holycrapimawesome Thanks for replying. I wear wireless ear buds when I ride, but I sometimes can still hear the creak if I listen hard enough. The big issue for me is that others in the house hear the creak (not good for exercising while others are sleeping). When it's not creaking the bike is whisper silent and no one knows you're exercising. If I find a fix I'll be sure to let you know.
What kind of screwdriver did you use to remove the battery?
I can't get them off either 😂 😭
Hi I'm in Australia and have a tdf clc looks the same except mine is white and black and has dumbells behind the seat, anyway mine only has 3 magnets also 🤔
Hi, I wondered if you have ever changed the drive belt on your Preform CBC? I am trying to do it with mine but simply can't get the new belt on to the hubs as it seems too tight? I don't know if there is a great trick that others have found to get it on there? The CBC doesn't seem to have much adjustment to loosen as I've already take the tensioner down as far as it goes. Any idea would be well received!

Actually the main screen stopped working because the batteries corroded and ruined it. I returned back to costco a year after buying it.
I bought the model that is not tour de france but looks to be built the same. I am experiencing the same issue as well.. Seems to me they sent out a bunch of defective bikes to get sold for a low price.
I think the price reflects the quality in this case. Seems like a really good deal at the start but then you learn that it was built with cheaper components that may fail early. After replacing the resistance motor though, the bike has been running fine since. Hopefully it lasts a while.
I can’t use my bike, it doesn’t work with CH0 and CH1 with the resistance all activated and I can’t decrease it, I can tell me how to fix it
Try calling customer service. I would guess you have the same issue with the resistance motor being bad.
