Cakewalk RULES !! THAT´S THE REASON WHY I AM A CAKEWALK PRODUCT USER SINCE CAKEWALK PRO AUDIO 4. IT´S A LONG TIME. MORE THAN 20 YEARS WITH CAKEWALK HERE IN MY STUDIO IN BRAZIL. THANK'S CAKEWALK TEAM. CAKEWALK IS REALLY THE BEST !!!
Love this feature as it has helped me insert my difficult to play play parts into repeated sections of my song. Also so happy to hear the down to earth tutorial.
Yes. Finally. Tired on inserting measure when need be and sometimes missing one hear and there on a track. Now just drag it around. Awesome. Great job on the video.
Totally. I'm not kidding when I talked about how many times I had to create space for an intro and things like that. Great new feature for sure. Thanks for the feedback on the video as well =)
I like the meter scales. Where can i set them like above? Did not find an option in the theme editor. I like to change the meters at -18dbFS from green to yellow. Also i cannot find to set the clip names above the clips - not IN the clips like in default...
Hey Axel, these are settings I did myself. For the meters, go to your Preferences, make sure that you have "Advanced" ticked and then scroll down until you see "Audio Meter." There will be a section there called "Segmented Meters." Uncheck both options and then you'll have the nice full color bar type meter. For the clip names, you'll want to select the actual clip, then go to the Inspector and Clip Properties. There will be a field called "Clip Names" where you can put whatever you'd like there. Hope that cleared it up, thanks for checking out the video =)
Thanks for the explanation. After one hour of searching i found out the trick with the meters by myself. Too bad one can not define the dB values at which the colors change. The other trick with the clip names in the inspector i did not know.. thanks... i'll try that..
Ah, I understand you now. What you need to there is go to your Options menu in the track view, and then you'll want to go to Display and then uncheck "Show maximum waveform height." I believe that is the correct location. (I'm not in front of Sonar at the moment.) What this will do is enable that little bar on the top of the clip where the "1" and "2" are showing. Let me know if that helped because I may have forgotten the exact location.
Yes indeed. I'd like to have; a) a button(s) on the edit module to switch between ripple edit selection, ripple edit all and slip edit. b) the cursor to change to indicate which mode I am in when hovering over a clip.
Cakewalk posted about that in full detail in their forums: forum.cakewalk.com/The-SONAR-Mac-Prototype-a-collaboration-between-Cakewalk-and-CodeWeavers-m3593807.aspx
No man, you did a GREAT job. It's the oposite! :-D Thank you very much, I'm looking forward to more videos that hopefully will explain all the new features. Who cares about in house or not in house???

Certainly helpful to me as I work with a lot of audio files. This has come as a real boon to me. Thank you once again.
Excellent. Please keep producing the helpful vids!
Glad you liked it, Mark! It was fun to create this one for Cakewalk!

Great demonstration, Glad you guys got Chernobyl Studios to do it.
Cheers, I appreciate that a lot!
Thanks for showing this off! WOW!
Thanks for checking it out, it was fun to make! :)
How many times have I moved multiple tracks to make space for things...great update.
Haha tell me about it, man!
Thanks for doing this video. Keep'em coming :-)
All the best.
Always a pleasure to make cool videos. Cheers!
Nice feature !! What would happen with tracks with Midi/ Instrument data ?
Same behavior works in that way, Santiago! :)
Sonar ROCKS
Is the speaker Scott from Chernobyl Studios? The "Boom-shaka-laka" tipped me off. Good stuff. I've been checking out his other videos, too.

I still wonder how you managed to display the clip names ABOVE the clips and not inside the clips. I find no option for defining that.... ?

Yeeees! That's ist. Now it looks better. Thank you!!
Very helpful.
Glad you liked it, it was a cool experience to make a video for Cakewalk.
What's happening to bus and aux automation when you ripple edit? Does it follow as well or does it stay in place?
Follows it :)
Great! Thank you for the answer :)
What if certain tracks are frozen?
A visual clue is need'd to let you know you are in ripple. Maybe double the clue up as a faster way to turn ripple on off..
Yes indeed. I'd like to have;
a) a button(s) on the edit module to switch between ripple edit selection, ripple edit all and slip edit.
b) the cursor to change to indicate which mode I am in when hovering over a clip.
al35mm I don't know about the cursor but I thought you could already create your own shortcuts in the tool bar.
Thanks for the help
nice one
Thanks for checking it out, I had fun doing this one!
Where for g@d's sake is the mac (beta) version ?! Seems that that promiss from CW ceased away.
Cakewalk posted about that in full detail in their forums: forum.cakewalk.com/The-SONAR-Mac-Prototype-a-collaboration-between-Cakewalk-and-CodeWeavers-m3593807.aspx

Hey there Adam! Did I do a bad job? What could I improve on?
No man, you did a GREAT job. It's the oposite! :-D
Thank you very much, I'm looking forward to more videos that hopefully will explain all the new features.
