same, I was really looking forward to switching between Locke and chief more and actually trying to hunt down the chief rather than what the story did. I think if they would have made the main story in this game in the background and locke Hunting the chief in the foreground with more combat than one scene it would have been a lot more enjoyable, within my opinion.

So many people forget that the Multiplayer is ALL THIS GAME HAS TO OFFER. The campaign is really nothing special. And there are absolutely no other features that a Single-player could do without playing online multiplayer. This game should've had at least local splitscreen, so that people could play the campaign and play custom games. Or, give custom games some form of bots. You HAVE to play this game with other people online. Otherwise, it isn't worth much.
+StarryAqua actually the Campaign is one of the more better campaigns of the Halo franchise. The only reason why the campaign feels awful is bc u need to hav a full and extensive amount of knowledge of the Halo's series Lore. if not then the campaign feels "generic".

My older brother and I have played every Halo campaign Halo 1 through 4 and Halo Reach. We LOVE every single one of them. Alongside this, I always invite my friends over and we do 4 player halo split screen. It's VERY fun! None of my friends have Xbox Ones so we can't play Halo 5 together at all.
I've played it but I haven't beaten it. I'm really hoping that Halo 6 will be better. From what I've heard, it will have split screen, which is a great start!
RangerClose911 tbh, I loved Halo 3, when Halo 4 came out and it wasn't Bungie, 343 just felt so different. I didn't really like it. It was a let down. Never tried Guardian, tempted. Waiting to see what this Halo 6 has to offer. If it's worth a damn

Battle Rifle I completely disagree, people will be calling this their favorite in the franchise once this trilogy is over. Same thing happened to Halo 2, and Metal Gear Solid 2.

If some one said "the good ole days of halo 5" he/she would probably be called a scrub cause there not talking about the "OG" games and they would be labeled not true fans. klarkus I am a halo fanboy but this game is the best multiplayer shooter there is right now for next gen. Nothing compares to this one. Only the campaign is a bit dissapointing with what we thought it would be I would give the whole game 9/10 that 1 point not because of locke.

Campaign/ microtransactions were disappointing but Halo 5's multiplayer was spot on for me. It is lacking in varied playlist though and maps could be slightly bigger.
awesomeman1223 Not to mention the maps have no character to them. Every map feels like the same person wearing a different mask. In the older Halo games, every map was different and unique. They had their own character. Some maps had this weapon. Some had others. With 343 putting a small amount of weapons on the map and putting markers for the power weapons, it is just ruining the game for me. Not to mention the maps are all designed around competitive play. We don't have any maps like Last Resort or High Ground with vehicles in them. The maps of old played differently from eachother. The Pit was different to Construct. Now every map feels like the same meal of bread. Just made with different kinds of wheat. Also, the biggest culprit for me is the fact there is no Social Slayer. That is the biggest failure for me. I will never play Halo 5 Transactions ever again.
SalsaSpartan7 The marker for the power weapons I think is a great addition. It PUTS A HUGE infansense on power weapons again. Which is what halo revolved around which is control of the map and the power weapons. And that is stronger than ever in Halo 5. NOW I do agree that we needed more maps like Last resort and High ground and more map variety. And I agree we should have a social slayer. We should also bring elites back for social big team and a supposed social slayer. Bring dual wielding back as well.And I think make the maps a little more spaced out. But some maps like Overgrowth and Regret were pretty solid maps . Plus the forge maps were FANTASTIC if you played custom games in them. I don't like warzone and would rather have a more focused on social and social big team slayer maps and just drop shitty warzone.
awesomeman1223 I agree. Halo 5 does put a bigger focus on power weapons more than any other Halo game. But, for me personally, I don't like it. Because it announces their arrivals and has markers for the power weapons. I liked the older days where You were rewarded for knowing where and when they spawned. I don't like how it is now a mad dash and camping spot where the power weapons are. Lesser skilled players didn't know this information. Now, they see it and don't worry. 343 put the markers there for the Call of Duty noobs. So they could find weapons on the map because they are so used to spawning with them in a loadout they made prior to the game starting. Map control and getting the Power Weapons were always important in Halo. Halo 5 is just more adjusted for it than any other Halo Game. If you like it, then that's fine. It's not wrong for you to like it all. I just personally don't & I thought I would tell you why. If I could have a hand in the development of Halo 6, I would remove the markers and audible cues for their spawns. I think Warzone is alright. I personally prefer Big Team Battle over it. I just hate how req's are the means to unlock cosmetics and customization items. And I HATE hearing Palmer's voice all the time. I hate her enough already. And I am not a fan of the forge maps. I just think it shows some form of mismanagement or laziness on how some of the maps in Arena are just remixes of other maps and all the Big team Battle maps are all Forge Made. But whatever. It is what it is. If you enjoy Halo 5, more power to ya man. As for me, I am going to go play Black Ops 3 and Battlefield 4. Halo is dead to me now. I am not excited for Halo 6. I am more excited for Titanfall 2 than I am for Halo 6. I dunno man. I guess I ranted on for a bit long. I just miss the glory days of Halo. And I want things to be better. But whatever. +DreamcastGuy The Story is GREAT!!! BUT the only Major issue it has is tht u need to hav an extensive knowledge of the Halo series Lore for the campaign to b fully enjoyable and understandable. anybody that buys halo should expect the expanded fiction like really it has one of the most in depth story lines in gaming. Idk why people cry about it when it's obvious there are shows books comics and Web series. the game would take over a month to complete if they told u every little detail. lol

This is like when they added Kai Leng form the novels in Mass Effect 3 majority of fans that only knew the series thru games where confused on who that guy is and why Anderson know him so well. Also Spartan II's are not really the most sociable characters with the exception of Kurt 051 in the lore, Chiefs conversation with Lasky in Halo 4 is pretty much the actual conversation you can get with an spartan II.
2xucan I knew the story of halo 5 is poorly told, honestly I'm a bit disappointed because by playing mission 2 I already you can see the plot of the game without getting to the big reveal in the end, I'm just pointing out the con in which said it has some weak characters, characterization of the Osiris is actually amendable but Blue Team get the short hand of the story because 343 depends so much on the lore on the books that sends the message if you want o know more about blue team explore our extended lore thru the books and live action halo series. And honestly Spartan II's are not the most sociable characters in the halo universe.

But for people that actually want's to know more about the story its advisable and its not a required its an optional thing. You can consider Fred, Kelly and Linda as fan service for those who knew them from the books.

With the best multiplayer on the market right now, Forge in December, free new maps and game modes, yeah, it's enough to make me get over the multiplayer aspect of MCC. Keep in mind that the four campaigns and Custom games already provided dozens of hours of enjoyable content.

I loved halo 5 tbh, the mehanics that they added created so much pathways for tactical play. I felt faster, stronger, and bigger in halo 5 and it is primed for pvp. I wish the story mode didnt involve locke. I didnt care for him or his team, except for buck from odst. I felt like the missions should have been 20% locke 70% chief and 10% arbiter.

Halo's campaign was the REASON I fell in love with Halo. MP was fun, but me and my best friend in high school would play the campaigns over and over again. It seems in the review they just say, "Yeah, the campaign is a letdown, but who cares?!?! MP rocks!" This is so sad to me. I don't read the books, and I never will, so I didn't understand anything that was going on in 4 and it's obvious I won't in 5. I don't want to spend hours/days of my time reading Halo lore just so I can understand a video game campaign, I just want to be able to pick it up and understand what's going on. Oh well.
Yeah I'm a GIANT lore fan, the games need to be at a complete level, with the books adding to it, not being required but equally awesome. Makes me worry about Halo as a whole, especially with the TV show.

Halo 5 was the best Halo in the series. I went back to play the older Halos and they pail in comparison. Halo 2 was probably the best Halo before Halo 5. But not even Halo 4 comes close to this incredible game.
Chris I imagine when Halo 6 comes out and concludes anyones issues with Guardians story, people will come to appreciate Halo 5 more. Like what happened with Halo 2 when Halo 3 game out.
Karan Jani Untrue. If you remember back to 2004, Halo 2 got a lot of hate for its ending which almost destroyed the games reputation. It regained most of its reputation back when Halo 3 released, completing the story. Which almost seems like something to expect when Halo 6 releases.

If the campaign had delivered, people would be calling this one of the best Halo games. Instead they're saying, I wish Halo went back to how it used to be. Even though, the multiplayer is easily up there with the best of them. I'd give the campaign a 7 and the multiplayer a 9, so an 8/10.

I'm surprised that this game received such a mixed response, if I'm honest. I mean, the campaign wasn't amazing, but lack of story and character development were the only problems that it had. The actual game-play was still fantastic, and there were great set-pieces and battle-moments, like in every Halo game. Sure, story-telling is something that Halo is known for, and it's something that people would want - same for me, but that's not everything that makes a Halo fun. I mean, are there really that many people who feel inclined to play the entire campaign just for the story alone, and nothing else? Even if the game-play was a bore? Don't think so. My point is that 343i nailed the most important parts of the campaign. It just sticks out as being a bad one because it lacks the things that most other Halos (maybe even all of them) seemed to succeed with. Okay, so Forge wasn't added immediately, not that it's everyone's cup of tea anyway, but it got added in the end, and that's all that matters, yet people still try to hold that against 343i, and it's just like, well, what does it matter now anyway? Who cares at this point? If you really wanted it that badly, then the wait was worth it. So, stop having a tantrum? It doesn't make sense to list something like that as a con, at this stage, seeing as it's been added. The multiplayer is great, and let's face it: the multiplayer really is the meat of the meal, with games these days. Yes, even with a Halo game. The campaigns are always something that I would assume most people traverse to first when they play a specific Halo for the first time, but once you've finished it or completed it on Legendary, it's pretty much just the multiplayer that lasts until the next release. Warzone is great and makes Halo feel massive, because the maps are big, the games are longer lasting, there are bases to capture, the requisition system is very fun, different but well-designed, and with the mix of AI and players, there's a lot going on. Arena goes back to classic Halo, with classic game-modes (maybe not all of them are in the game at first, but the main and biggest ones are there), smaller maps, weapons spawning around the map, shorter encounter-distances, etc. And the maps are generally well-made, but what makes them even better is that they also accommodate for some of the extra combat features that Halo 5 added, such as mantling, boosting spartan-charging (mainly campaign, but still), and ground-pounding (or whatever it's called, that's what I call it :P). There's a lot here to keep one going, and that is the same for a lot of people. It's just that the older a game-franchise is, the harder it seems to get slammed for making small mistakes that don't affect the game as massively as other people seem to think it does. No game is perfect, not in a general sense, and Halo 5: Guardians is no exception, but at least 343i were honest in the holes that they needed to fill and actually put some of the missing features into place. On top of that, all of the DLCs and updates thus far have been free, and I don't believe that's going to change for the time that this game is supported. The game has strong points, yet people are so quick to aggressively point out the weak points, and then leave. Having said that, Halo 5: Guardians is apparently the most popular since Halo 3, so it's kind of weird that wherever you go, practically everyone is shitting on it. Kind of makes you think that most of the trash-talkers probably play it anyway, which wouldn't surprise me. Gamers these days seem to have really unbalanced opinions about games, such as only slamming a game for its cons and ignoring its pros. Almost as if they can't admit it when a game gets something right, and that they just want to hate it...
Wow, over two years ago now. I stand by these points for the most part, but looking back, I can definitely understand why people were a little upset at some of the things that this game lacked. A lot of Guardians' shortcomings were things that were typically nailed in past Halo games (plot, characters, Forge mode, etc), so I can see why people might've been a little frustrated. The Halo series is extremely prestigious and worshiped by many, so it makes sense that people take this kind of stuff seriously.

I remember being very excited to play split screen on Halo with my friends. Also getting into the story. But it looks like, in my opinion, everything great about Halo is gone. It used to be greatly story based and the multiplayer was local and more of a social thing. Online gameplay can be social too, but it just doesn't feel the same.
the campaign isn't shit if you've played the others and know your law. there are so many references and triggers to old halo and canon that simply makes it amazing. it feels great with many breathtaking moments, and the graphics are beautiful

Noro IGN used a point system, in case you didn't notice. So unlike Angry Joe, they don't let a few bad things drag down the good things. Saying the campaign is bad is understandable, but that doesn't mean everything else is bad, like you're being led to believe
I like Angry Joe, but Halo 5 is better than a 6. The campaign is disappointing, but it's not terrible and the multiplayer is fantastic. Unfortunately it launched in a much more mediocre state as it was missing a couple of game modes and forge.
Halo 5 by far. BO3 's feels like a copy of BO2. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I own both games and I have had fun with both. But I think halo 5 has superior multiplayer.
+IronGamerz64 Halo 5. Black Ops III just took the wall-running from Titanfall and "Supers" from Destiny. Other than that, its just CoD, same as always. Warzone in Halo 5 is one of the best things that have happened to Halo in a long time.
wow angryjoe review for this game got more views and it came out 18 hrs ago while ign and gamespot came out 6 days ago. it seems people dont trust IGN and Gamespot anymore since it is known that they take money for high scores.. Joe was right this game sure did deserve a 6/10 and not a 9/10

Someone in this comment section said it perfectly! I forgot his name as I write this but he said something close to this "You need to know Halo lore to understand the story of H4 and H5. I blame Bungie for not giving out more of the lore in their games" and that's 100% true. If you were a real die hard fan and not just a "I play the games" fan you'd actually understand what's going on.
Halo 5 campaign in a nut shell, "When will the door be open?" "Soon" (3 waves of enemies later..) "Door is almost there. Watch out for the knights" ... Now I have no ammo for my favorite gun and I've been fighting in the same room for 10 minutes.
I can say now with the best forge in the series, a custom game browser, ranking system, social playlists, equal starts, sprint that doesn't allow your shields to recharge and the best pistol since CE era, the game is the best multiplayer Halo I have played in a long time. Halo 1-3 will always be my favorite but if you don't appreciate Halo 5 after all the content updates it might be something having to do with you rather than the game itself.
Oh it must be us, because the campaign was destroyed, the multiplayer feels more like cod/battlefield rather than halo and the godforsaken microtransactions no one asked for, and oh let's not forget split screen and "updates and dlc to fix the problems" mentality, yeah it must be us the problem wanting an complete game at release and at least a decent campaign
Campaign :7/10 Multiplayer: 10/10 The multiplayer is flawless, war zone is easily the best idea that has come to the halo franchise and getting awesome legendary weapons like the Arbiter's Prophets Bane and using them for yourself makes you feel like a god

Sorlie MCC is broken so don't get that. However 5's multiplayer, Forge, and custom games are great despite the bad campaign. So get it if you like the MP.
When i picked this up at gamestop the employee asked me if i wanted to get it on xbox or pc. I kept saying that halo isnt on pc but she kept insisting that it is and she had been playing it on pc. I then asked her if she was lying to me and she insisted that she was telling the truth. It was a strange interaction... Am i missing something or was that chick just trolling me?
7 Halo games (9 if you include the War titles) and you start with Halo 5? You have no idea how much you missed, or how much better the other games were.

Great review, covered a lot of good points to the game. Good job on making another great halo game 343. Next game please have a better campaign, it's always been more of master chief and cortana. They are always together not separate, they need to be reunited for good.
Just encouraged myself to buy it despite reviews after I played through master chief collection again and I like the campaign so far.. I can never get back into Multiplayer though since halo 3 because I have too many good memories with friends from halo 3 and nothing can beat the nostalgia

Alongside this, I always invite my friends over and we do 4 player halo split screen. It's VERY fun!

I know there was stuff going on behind the scenes and stuff, but if 343 needed more time, Microsoft should have let them have more time. I don't care if we would have had to wait for another year or two. As long as the game is good.
I prefer the game get delayed as long as we get a great Halo game.
Campaign/ microtransactions were disappointing but Halo 5's multiplayer was spot on for me. It is lacking in varied playlist though and maps could be slightly bigger.
awesomeman1223 Not to mention the maps have no character to them. Every map feels like the same person wearing a different mask. In the older Halo games, every map was different and unique. They had their own character. Some maps had this weapon. Some had others. With 343 putting a small amount of weapons on the map and putting markers for the power weapons, it is just ruining the game for me. Not to mention the maps are all designed around competitive play. We don't have any maps like Last Resort or High Ground with vehicles in them. The maps of old played differently from eachother. The Pit was different to Construct. Now every map feels like the same meal of bread. Just made with different kinds of wheat.
Also, the biggest culprit for me is the fact there is no Social Slayer. That is the biggest failure for me. I will never play Halo 5 Transactions ever again.

The marker for the power weapons I think is a great addition. It PUTS A HUGE infansense on power weapons again. Which is what halo revolved around which is control of the map and the power weapons. And that is stronger than ever in Halo 5.
NOW I do agree that we needed more maps like Last resort and High ground and more map variety. And I agree we should have a social slayer. We should also bring elites back for social big team and a supposed social slayer. Bring dual wielding back as well.And I think make the maps a little more spaced out.
But some maps like Overgrowth and Regret were pretty solid maps . Plus the forge maps were FANTASTIC if you played custom games in them.
I don't like warzone and would rather have a more focused on social and social big team slayer maps and just drop shitty warzone.
awesomeman1223 I agree. Halo 5 does put a bigger focus on power weapons more than any other Halo game. But, for me personally, I don't like it. Because it announces their arrivals and has markers for the power weapons. I liked the older days where You were rewarded for knowing where and when they spawned. I don't like how it is now a mad dash and camping spot where the power weapons are. Lesser skilled players didn't know this information. Now, they see it and don't worry. 343 put the markers there for the Call of Duty noobs. So they could find weapons on the map because they are so used to spawning with them in a loadout they made prior to the game starting.
Map control and getting the Power Weapons were always important in Halo. Halo 5 is just more adjusted for it than any other Halo Game. If you like it, then that's fine. It's not wrong for you to like it all. I just personally don't & I thought I would tell you why. If I could have a hand in the development of Halo 6, I would remove the markers and audible cues for their spawns.
I think Warzone is alright. I personally prefer Big Team Battle over it. I just hate how req's are the means to unlock cosmetics and customization items. And I HATE hearing Palmer's voice all the time. I hate her enough already.
And I am not a fan of the forge maps. I just think it shows some form of mismanagement or laziness on how some of the maps in Arena are just remixes of other maps and all the Big team Battle maps are all Forge Made.
But whatever. It is what it is. If you enjoy Halo 5, more power to ya man. As for me, I am going to go play Black Ops 3 and Battlefield 4. Halo is dead to me now. I am not excited for Halo 6. I am more excited for Titanfall 2 than I am for Halo 6.
I dunno man. I guess I ranted on for a bit long. I just miss the glory days of Halo. And I want things to be better. But whatever.

This is like when they added Kai Leng form the novels in Mass Effect 3 majority of fans that only knew the series thru games where confused on who that guy is and why Anderson know him so well. Also Spartan II's are not really the most sociable characters with the exception of Kurt 051 in the lore, Chiefs conversation with Lasky in Halo 4 is pretty much the actual conversation you can get with an spartan II.
2xucan I knew the story of halo 5 is poorly told, honestly I'm a bit disappointed because by playing mission 2 I already you can see the plot of the game without getting to the big reveal in the end, I'm just pointing out the con in which said it has some weak characters, characterization of the Osiris is actually amendable but Blue Team get the short hand of the story because 343 depends so much on the lore on the books that sends the message if you want o know more about blue team explore our extended lore thru the books and live action halo series. And honestly Spartan II's are not the most sociable characters in the halo universe.

I loved halo 5 tbh, the mehanics that they added created so much pathways for tactical play. I felt faster, stronger, and bigger in halo 5 and it is primed for pvp. I wish the story mode didnt involve locke. I didnt care for him or his team, except for buck from odst. I felt like the missions should have been 20% locke 70% chief and 10% arbiter.

Halo's campaign was the REASON I fell in love with Halo. MP was fun, but me and my best friend in high school would play the campaigns over and over again. It seems in the review they just say, "Yeah, the campaign is a letdown, but who cares?!?! MP rocks!" This is so sad to me. I don't read the books, and I never will, so I didn't understand anything that was going on in 4 and it's obvious I won't in 5. I don't want to spend hours/days of my time reading Halo lore just so I can understand a video game campaign, I just want to be able to pick it up and understand what's going on.
Oh well.
Yeah I'm a GIANT lore fan, the games need to be at a complete level, with the books adding to it, not being required but equally awesome. Makes me worry about Halo as a whole, especially with the TV show.

Karan Jani Untrue. If you remember back to 2004, Halo 2 got a lot of hate for its ending which almost destroyed the games reputation. It regained most of its reputation back when Halo 3 released, completing the story. Which almost seems like something to expect when Halo 6 releases.

If the campaign had delivered, people would be calling this one of the best Halo games. Instead they're saying, I wish Halo went back to how it used to be. Even though, the multiplayer is easily up there with the best of them. I'd give the campaign a 7 and the multiplayer a 9, so an 8/10.

I'm surprised that this game received such a mixed response, if I'm honest. I mean, the campaign wasn't amazing, but lack of story and character development were the only problems that it had. The actual game-play was still fantastic, and there were great set-pieces and battle-moments, like in every Halo game. Sure, story-telling is something that Halo is known for, and it's something that people would want - same for me, but that's not everything that makes a Halo fun. I mean, are there really that many people who feel inclined to play the entire campaign just for the story alone, and nothing else? Even if the game-play was a bore? Don't think so. My point is that 343i nailed the most important parts of the campaign. It just sticks out as being a bad one because it lacks the things that most other Halos (maybe even all of them) seemed to succeed with. Okay, so Forge wasn't added immediately, not that it's everyone's cup of tea anyway, but it got added in the end, and that's all that matters, yet people still try to hold that against 343i, and it's just like, well, what does it matter now anyway? Who cares at this point? If you really wanted it that badly, then the wait was worth it. So, stop having a tantrum? It doesn't make sense to list something like that as a con, at this stage, seeing as it's been added.
The multiplayer is great, and let's face it: the multiplayer really is the meat of the meal, with games these days. Yes, even with a Halo game. The campaigns are always something that I would assume most people traverse to first when they play a specific Halo for the first time, but once you've finished it or completed it on Legendary, it's pretty much just the multiplayer that lasts until the next release. Warzone is great and makes Halo feel massive, because the maps are big, the games are longer lasting, there are bases to capture, the requisition system is very fun, different but well-designed, and with the mix of AI and players, there's a lot going on. Arena goes back to classic Halo, with classic game-modes (maybe not all of them are in the game at first, but the main and biggest ones are there), smaller maps, weapons spawning around the map, shorter encounter-distances, etc. And the maps are generally well-made, but what makes them even better is that they also accommodate for some of the extra combat features that Halo 5 added, such as mantling, boosting spartan-charging (mainly campaign, but still), and ground-pounding (or whatever it's called, that's what I call it :P). There's a lot here to keep one going, and that is the same for a lot of people. It's just that the older a game-franchise is, the harder it seems to get slammed for making small mistakes that don't affect the game as massively as other people seem to think it does. No game is perfect, not in a general sense, and Halo 5: Guardians is no exception, but at least 343i were honest in the holes that they needed to fill and actually put some of the missing features into place. On top of that, all of the DLCs and updates thus far have been free, and I don't believe that's going to change for the time that this game is supported. The game has strong points, yet people are so quick to aggressively point out the weak points, and then leave. Having said that, Halo 5: Guardians is apparently the most popular since Halo 3, so it's kind of weird that wherever you go, practically everyone is shitting on it. Kind of makes you think that most of the trash-talkers probably play it anyway, which wouldn't surprise me. Gamers these days seem to have really unbalanced opinions about games, such as only slamming a game for its cons and ignoring its pros. Almost as if they can't admit it when a game gets something right, and that they just want to hate it...

Wow, over two years ago now. I stand by these points for the most part, but looking back, I can definitely understand why people were a little upset at some of the things that this game lacked. A lot of Guardians' shortcomings were things that were typically nailed in past Halo games (plot, characters, Forge mode, etc), so I can see why people might've been a little frustrated. The Halo series is extremely prestigious and worshiped by many, so it makes sense that people take this kind of stuff seriously.

I remember being very excited to play split screen on Halo with my friends. Also getting into the story. But it looks like, in my opinion, everything great about Halo is gone. It used to be greatly story based and the multiplayer was local and more of a social thing. Online gameplay can be social too, but it just doesn't feel the same.

No, the only thing thats playable offline is Campaign. Its an amazing game though, and its 50% off i believe right now so pick it up.
the campaign isn't shit if you've played the others and know your law. there are so many references and triggers to old halo and canon that simply makes it amazing. it feels great with many breathtaking moments, and the graphics are beautiful

Noro IGN used a point system, in case you didn't notice. So unlike Angry Joe, they don't let a few bad things drag down the good things. Saying the campaign is bad is understandable, but that doesn't mean everything else is bad, like you're being led to believe
I like Angry Joe, but Halo 5 is better than a 6. The campaign is disappointing, but it's not terrible and the multiplayer is fantastic. Unfortunately it launched in a much more mediocre state as it was missing a couple of game modes and forge.

Halo 5 by far. BO3 's feels like a copy of BO2. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I own both games and I have had fun with both. But I think halo 5 has superior multiplayer.

I blame Bungie for not giving out more of the lore in their games" and that's 100% true. If you were a real die hard fan and not just a "I play the games" fan you'd actually understand what's going on.
Halo 5 campaign in a nut shell, "When will the door be open?" "Soon" (3 waves of enemies later..) "Door is almost there. Watch out for the knights" ... Now I have no ammo for my favorite gun and I've been fighting in the same room for 10 minutes.

I can say now with the best forge in the series, a custom game browser, ranking system, social playlists, equal starts, sprint that doesn't allow your shields to recharge and the best pistol since CE era, the game is the best multiplayer Halo I have played in a long time. Halo 1-3 will always be my favorite but if you don't appreciate Halo 5 after all the content updates it might be something having to do with you rather than the game itself.

Oh it must be us, because the campaign was destroyed, the multiplayer feels more like cod/battlefield rather than halo and the godforsaken microtransactions no one asked for, and oh let's not forget split screen and "updates and dlc to fix the problems" mentality, yeah it must be us the problem wanting an complete game at release and at least a decent campaign

The multiplayer is flawless, war zone is easily the best idea that has come to the halo franchise and getting awesome legendary weapons like the Arbiter's Prophets Bane and using them for yourself makes you feel like a god

When i picked this up at gamestop the employee asked me if i wanted to get it on xbox or pc. I kept saying that halo isnt on pc but she kept insisting that it is and she had been playing it on pc. Just encouraged myself to buy it despite reviews after I played through master chief collection again and I like the campaign so far.. I can never get back into Multiplayer though since halo 3 because I have too many good memories with friends from halo 3 and nothing can beat the nostalgia
