Most mustang shift knobs I've encountered can not be removed that easy, as a matter of fact can't be removed without damaging the knob the shifter itself. Ended up using my Dremel and cutting the knob very carefully!
Nice try but you can’t simply turn the knob counterclockwise to get it off. It’s permanently connected to the shaft. I’m struggling to get the leather off gear shaft

Agreed. I’m unsure what being ASE certified has to do with the product or its installation.
