Jim Younkin built the replica and now Doug continues the tradition and introduces an age gone by at airshows with Mister Mulligan.

I remember watching this plane fly at Oshkosh in the mid 80's and its speed is impressive. You just don't expect a big round engine plane to tear across the sky at that kind of speed. Your brain is programmed to think in terms of a Stearman or Waco and then this plane blows past them.
Reminds me of the radial engined Cessnas.
Aerobatics without a chute, bad ass.
There is no way I could get out of it at low altitude with a chute on my back.

I have a Mr. Mulligan kit (stick and tissue), partially built, that I started nearly half-a-century ago. I should probably get on with it!
Saw it originally at the Drake Field Museum. Had no idea it was airworthy
