    Great job and thanks for sharing Mike. Ive made a couple of these, the most difficult thing ton get the screws in straight" (fat fingers, small screws). Never thought of the base, thats a great idea, have not seen that before.

    • @MikeWaldt
      @MikeWaldt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you William, I watched the Prokraft video before I turned this and Jon mentions the need to drive the screws at a slight angle, after drilling the pilot holes, due to the body getting in the way of a vertical drive, the base was inspired by the video too :)

    1st to comment!! Hi Mike I have quite a few of these and sold most of them as well. They are a great kits and are very well made. Love the idea of the extra tray to catch the excess pepper grinds which I will now make for my remaining grinders.. I have posted 2 videos now, on this my new channel, and would love your comments on how to improve. Cheers, Huw

    Really nice, Mike. It looks like the body could be any length you want. It also looks like you intimidated Carl into shaving his beard.

      @MikeWaldt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks William ... indeed the size of body is completely up to the maker, it is nice not to have constraints on the final design.
      LOLOLOL re the beard thing too :) :)

    Hi Professor Waldt. Nice job you really know how to keep your tool to the grind stone. I just made one of these about three weeks ago. I had the grinder for a couple of months but could not get to it as soon as I wanted. Question? why the recess on top for the grinder to set in. My instruction never said anything about doing the recess? I turned the same shape just a little smaller in diameter and used walnut top and bottom with a maple in the center equal thickness of all three. I love the catching plate to set it on that is a great idea, I thought about doing but opted not to thinking it would make one more piece on the table and people may miss returning it to the plate. I think I am going to re-think that and make one. I see that Carl has shaved and I told him you would beat him to the punch and shave first, but not to be. Great work keep it up. Cheers from US of A.

      Hi Ed and thank you. I just thought a recess would finish it off nicely ... in fact I got the idea for both that and the "catcher" from the Prokraft video on TH-cam.
      Carl just couldn't cut it could he ... well in fact he did in the end ...lol
      Thanks again for watching and your support my friend.
      Take care
