@BigSkyModelWorkshop one of my best friends in HS, had a 71 Pinto with an HP 289. It was stupid fast and cool, looking all at the same time 😆. He had swapped to 5 lug to get real rims on it. Such a fun car.
Hi Jerry. In my opinion, with rims and tyre it's possible to change the impression of a car completely. Of course, it's always a matter of taste. However, the better the rims and tires harmonize with the design of the car, the stronger the impression. Best wishes and a nice weekend. Joachim
I totally agree Joachim. I have a 1977 Olds 442 and swapped the stock rims and tires to aftermarket with white letters. It was a night and day difference. Thank you for watching my friend.
Not too much in “my world “ 😉but you have made a convincing case to show that changing the rims and rubber really impacts the look of a model car. Great video!
I'm big into overall aesthetics so I agree with you that rims and tires can make the build in automotive. I get that super detailing engines and everything is cool but at the end of the day, folks are looking at the curves, the paint and the rims/tires
@@MadGeniusProductions_MGP I remember Foose saying that a great car design had to flow from the front to back with no interruptions. And that was how he planned all his builds.
@elroyosorio8850 Thanks, Elroy! When reversing, I think they cut out the center and re-weld? I remember trying to get deeper rims in the rear on a baja bug. I simply bolted them backward. It looked cool but was so sketchy I was afraid to drive on them . I wisely flipped them back. 🙂
How do you approach wheels and tires to your builds?
Its exactly like real 1:1 cars, stance and tires/wheels make the build. You can make ANY car look good with the right combination.
@@BigSkyModelWorkshop So true. Even a pinto.
@modelrestorations lol, even a Pinto! I had a 73, looked awesome on Cragars!

@markfrommontana Thank you, Mark! Maybe in your world, it would be propellers? 😀

@MadGeniusProductions_MGP couldn't agree more. 👌

Wheels and tires can make or break a build IMO
@@dirtroadcinderella1854 I so agree. I don't think I've used a stock set of rims on a build yet.. 😳
Baby Moons on chrome reversed rims.
