Which one is your favorite? There are so many Van models I couldnt keep track! I had to go fast to cover them all. Thanks for watching! (If I forgot any please let me know)
Love it!!! There are a few in there that I had as a kid. Great memories.
Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU! When I was a kid (late 70's early 80's) I build this van model and I still have some parts of it. I've been searching for years trying to identify the kit. It is the Street Connection Van at 3:21!!! THANK YOU! I also built the Ford 6 wheeler and clearly remember my cousin building the Sorcerer van! Great video!
Your so welcome! Thank you for watching. The 6 Wheeler is one of my favorite. Oh heck I would be happy finding any of them.
Back in the day, my cousins friend had a sweet rootbeer metal flake colored Chevy Van that had deep dish Cragar SS rims & custom interior called " The Slider "....done in 24K gold metal flake lettering & the van also had a sun roof & smoked diamond side windows.
Vans were very popular in the 1970s, that's for sure✌️😎
Thank you for the cool video and amazing memories !
@@bigbow62 that really sounds cool. Thank you for watching and commenting!
The 1/20 MPC Custom Slammer Police Van! Built one as a kid with my dad's help. I would love to see Round 2 produce all of these kits again
@@liamfirebird6922 Yes, definitely! I think they would still be big hits.
I had several of those models growing up! The "Husky Hauler" with the dirt bikes and trailer was my favorite.
@@SuperMickey57 that is such a cool one. I've never seen one in the wild yet.
Nice compilation of van kits. Some are very unique like the Ironsides. Like the 6 wheeled van with hauler in the back.
Thanks for watching David. I got a lot of the images from Ebay. I couldn't believe the prices! Many were in the $80 to $120 range all the way up to $800 for the vintage dodge Van.
I had the Vantom and Vanpire. Great decals.
I have the vantom as well. They renamed it later to phantom van. The vampire one is great as well.
My 2 favorite models to build were the kiss van and ine called vandal i found the model a few years ago and built it again, i build it for the first time in 1979 y just built it in 2022, back in the days i paid maybe $4.00 for it i paid almost $30.00 in 2022, all these old school models are very expensive now.
So true Robert. Even at $30 you got a great deal.
I would love to see the 1/20 scale Ford vans come back out that had the ambulance conversions in them. One can only hope I guess! Great video, enjoyed it a lot!!
Thanks David. Me as well. Round 2 needs to revive the van Craze.
I would love to have a few of those 1/20 scale Fords that had the ambulance conversion. Probably wishful thinking that they could be brought back. But one can always hope!! Great video.
Thanks again my Friend!
These are so cool l build model vans. l have 80 percent of the vans kits in the video l have been building models for over 50 years great seeing all these kits 😁😁😁
@@edwardcox2840 Wow Ed! That's really cool. I really had to dig for some of the images. A lot of them I got from eBay. The prices on model Vans are phenomenal!
My favorite are any of the Ford vans very cool very cool video sir thank you
Thanks for watching Eddie!
Very look back at the van craze .
Thanks so much for watching!
i bought the visible van on ebay, then got one for dad. and also the highjacker one as well.. liked that visable van
@@MainahTony those are both such awesome kits. I really wish R2 would come out with more Vans. And not the coke ones🙄
@modelrestorations agree!!! Large ones would be cool or some of the cool older ones
I am sure I saw an A team van kit back in my younger days possibly by AMT
Holy Cow, I missed the A Team Van!!! I had a pic of it. Great catch BB. I loved that show as a kid. I have a meme that is a Pic of a small Foreign Van called "The B team" 😄
I wish they bring them all back soon
@@adriangillock700 me to Adrian. Thanks for watching!
Actually vanning is having a rebirth..the nationals this year had almost 800 vans..I've been vanning for 43 years myself..
@@skruloos1 that's wild. I'm really glad to hear that.
@modelrestorations it's hard to pick just one..its taken me years to find them..
@@skruloos1 I'll bet. Although I don't normally worry about price. That's an extremely valuable collection. I remember a teacher telling us that Muscle Cars were a waste of money.....🙄
@@modelrestorations theres also a huge van following in japan..theres alot of kits available from Japanese kit makers..I have a few of those also..
@@skruloos1 I did see a few of those when I was putting the video together. I almost included them but I was already in the 8 minute mark with just U.S. Vans. There were quite a few I didnt add also. If I had to pick one I think I would go with the "Highjacker"
I'd love to see all of these kits repopped at some point.
Me to Todd. I would get them all.
Need one of those Ford 1/20, Highjacker or ironside
Yea I would take either one of those as well. Whats interesting about the Ironside is it says it was designed by George Barris on the box. But he had never mentioned it nor claimed that it was his design.
I had many of these when I was a kid, I still have the Revell 1/16 scale Movin out van in my closet, I started building the engine when I got it for Christmas when I was 12?, and that's as far as I got!, I have a bunch of unbuilt models in the closet, at 60 years old I no longer have the patience to build one and would rather mess with my Trans Am!
I cant blame you there Tim😃. What year TA? Curious I checked Fleabay for the Movin Out Kit. The only one I could find was going for $175 and it was an open box. I have a 1:1 77 olds 442 that I like to tinker with. Eventually it will go to my son.
I had the Baja beast in the late 70s.
Such a cool kit! I just checked and there selling for around $150 to $200 on fleabay. Fairly rare kit.
@modelrestorations yeah It was an awesome looking kit, and another favorite of mine was a Studebaker drag car with a double blown motor with a clear hood, don't remember the kit name, I think it was an AMT kit. I had several hundred models built at that time, always looked forward to Friday and the model isle at Kmart, lol
@@modelrestorations it just come to me about the Studebaker kit , it was called Double Whammy.
@@DonTrishLayne that one has been reissued by Round 2. You can build it stock or a Salt racer. Great kit.
Do you remember the Ford panel truck model? A 1955 or 56 I think. It came in orange.
Yes I sure do. Last years USACC build was the 55 ford pickup or you could do the panel truck. I believe there was a Harley Davidson version in black as well. Thanks for watching!
I have all of these vans..unbuilt and sealed..and yes,I'm bragging..
@@skruloos1 That's pretty damn cool SK. I have 3 hahahah
Start building.
@@dalepetrush4121 just got the Vantom Painted. It's on the back burner for a bit while I concentrate on the USACC build.
Always wanted a U S van but the low mpg and petrol prices in the U K would bankrupt me lol..
@@raychambers3646thank you for watching Ray. Can you find them in the UK?
i have the quick sand.
That is definitly a Grail kit for me. I think its the only time they ever produces the Honda Oddesey.
I got it and the body was broken in center of window
@@jeffelliott-l8e That sucks. Were you able to repair it?
@@modelrestorations i have not yet. i think i need to steam it so it fits better first
You can also run it under hot water. Then mold then repeat. It takes longer but prevents the plastic from melting.
people are finding the 1-1 vans and fixing them
@crazypainter56 kinda like bell bottoms. Wait long enough, and they will come back. Hahaha, I was just telling the wife that I needed a 70s Chevy Van to Cruz around in.
I had the cuckoo near as a kid
@@davealback2102 That's a cool one David. I have that one myself. Such odd graphics with the bird. The tires are odd as well since they are off-road tires. Yet the Van is not a 4x4.
