Sup guys, this video concludes the Boss Guide for the Monster Arena. I hope it has been helpful. Next up is the final one in this series, the Dark Aeons and Penance. Stay tuned! Quick note: I accidentally copied the weapon/armour drops from Shinryu to Ultima Buster. UB drops weapons with Triple AP/Triple Overdrive and Overdrive -> AP, or in other words the PERFECT weapon for stat maxing. The odds of getting this weapon is 28%, but obviously getting it for a specific character is much more rare. In most circumstances it is better to do it by fighting One-Eye and customizing it.
Someone make this man a Brotherhood Lava Lamp or get him an Auron Plushie. Dude deserves it after releasing such an abundance of quality information. Keep on truckin', B. Your videos bring more joy to us than you know.
I must have watched this a dozen times and I still giggle at the delightful precision F-bomb you drop when talking about Greater Sphere. It's so unexpected and hilarious, all that well-researched informative commentary just punctuated by it like that. Love it.
Hey I must have stumbled upon your channel (and Dark Kefka...etc) about a year ago and slowly (in no particular order) been chipping away at the videos. I actually thought I’s be far too late for new content. Anyway have to say a massive thanks, I’m not really sure if you content creators know how important these type of videos are to a certain generation. I’m 34 now and no way have got the time to play this again, let alone do all the grinding. I only ever really did FF7 (Gold Chocobo 🙈) and FFX to the max back in the day. Anyway we’re it not for these videos things like the monster arena would have long faded. So I’m sure you’re struggling for ideas for videos by now but please try to keep them coming. Thanks mate, Ex-Gamer PS I never won a single game of Blitzball, that much I do remember
An interesting tidbit I learned while fighting Geosageneo, and I presume Eraser works the same: it actually does not have a shatter property. It's the fact you're in water. Water petrification is an instant ejection, no matter where it comes from. That's at least my understanding of it, but I may be wrong on that. But given how that shatter effect also affects enemies YOU pertify underwater, I suspect that's what's going on. It might as well have the shatter effect inherent, but the fact it's a water battle is possibly why Eraser is a shatter, not necessarily the attack itself.
I have a fast bullet proof strategy: 1- Yuna must be leve up with her nodes . 2- overdrive Summon Anima. 3- Cast Haste , protect , shell , regen 4- only attack with Overdrive the damage will be around 610000-620000 5- Great Sphere will counter with Hydraulic pressure two times each one damage around 12k to 13k (or with normal 300 damage ATK) so make sure Anima HP is 28000 or more. 6- use Double cast with Drain to recover & supercharger your overdrive for next ATK great sphere will counter with Ultima but regen covers up for you 7- repeat it 2 times more it will defeted fast I know GP is slow & annoying with it's dramatic entrance & in defeat
This my first time getting this deep into the game after playing it for 20+ years and it's been making me feel like I'm playing it for the first time again lol
Hmm I wonder why you don't use Yuna more often ^^ Magus Trio the needle attack for example is a good way to deal with most of those enemys and for Nemesis for example it doesn't count as special attack! As the sisters also be able to cast auto life they make up for a good decoy ^^ In fact it is quite easy to get a big junk of Nemesis lifepool with aeons anyway
I'm 2 months late, I know. But the reason you won't see Aeons used very often in his videos or in general, is because Aeons are only singular units. Ignoring Magus Sisters for a moment, you can't cast Auto-Life which is automatically a downside and Curing is relatively hard to do. You brought up Magus Sisters, and the problem with them late-game is that you can't rely on the RNG. More often than not, you'll notice they don't have the smartest AI, meaning after a while, they start to become pointless. It's much better when you can coordinate what moves to do and how to do them. In fact, beyond nsg play throughs, you'll barely ever see Aeons outside of some difficult boss fights. This is because of how difficult is could be to control them. This doesn't make your argument invalid of course, if it works it works. I'm just explaining that is the reason you won't see it very often in Guides like this.
I didn't get the one for nemesis but I did get the trophy for penance killing the exact same enemy a wasp in the calm lands had a look online and apparently its a glitch and fairly comman still though haha
I skipped around this. And of course, like I said previously your videos are great. I speedrun this game, and have beaten it regularly like...110 or so times. I just would like to just say, you have knowledge even I in very rare cases have just missed. love your effort showing everyone. I've always wanted to do one of these, but with being so busy in my career, I can't do it. I also am not that good organizing info either. So I'm glad someone like you is around just being a badass doing it. Keep up work on everything.
110 - holy shit... I probably don't actually have that many playthroughs completed, I just have a lot of files with a lot of hours on them. But even if you ran all 110 at world record pace that's over 1000 hours. Dedication :) I also have another career, but one in which I'm fortunate enough to continue making videos as a secondary job/hobby. It's taken many years to get the channel to where it is, but it's nice to be able to have your cake and eat it too :) Always grateful. Thanks for the comment.
I think easiest way is farm weapon & accesories from dark yojimbo first. You will ecounter 5 times in the cave, Just don't kill all dark yojimbo. Out from cave & back again and teleport again.
seeing these bosses brought back some memories yooo... I remembered grinding for strengths/speed spheres... once I got those.. I started to increase Wakka's strength and speed, when used with loaner overdrive mode + world champion, you make the 2 other party members leave, cast haste+auto-life you get so many turns and you skip 2-3 until you have attack reels and fire that overdrive killing most original creations EASY...
@@droman608 that's where your agility stat comes in. As well as your luck. Anything after Dark Shiva has really high luck. It's relatively hard stat to grind
So, the hardest part when I stat maxed the Earth Eater grind. You need 420 Fortune Spheres. You need to kill that thing 210 times minimum. And the safest way to get overkill is with Anima. And even then, misjudgeing whether you can take 1 more Flare or 3 more Megaton punches means she dies and you have ti somehow figure out how to get overkill cause your character cant at that level. At some point, your Luck gets high enough and instead of pain, your using regular attack with 2 or 3 cheers, which means more turns. Id suggest getting luck first instead of last cause it makes grinding the rest of the spheres easier.
I got the spear grid done for three characters I started filling out the empty nodes but I’m trying to work on getting faster so I can hit yojimbo and anima i put so much speed on my characters but can’t seem to hit theme ever
You need luck and accuracy, luck is very important to hit dark aeon's. You need higher luck then them to hit them consistently, with 130 its enough for dark yojimbo and 150 hits most thing except dark mindy.
1 of every fiend gets you Neslug 5 of every fiend gets you Ultima Buster 10 of every fiend and defeating all monster arena enemies gets you Nemesis. Keep hunting, if you are getting tired, take a break and play something else and refresh yourself. If you’re ever confused on why Nemesis isn’t appearing… Double check, triple check, QUADRUPLE check that you captured 10 of every fiend.
I left this until after the dark aeons and they were all really easy, except Nemesis which was hard, 10 million health is so much and also his damage, I thought dark anima took really long.

Question: why do you always use Slice & Dice? Blitz Ace has more hits and if you succeed, it gets another hit that's 6 times stronger, effectively hitting the enemy 14 times versus the 6 hits at a 33% increase with Slice & Dice's success, which is effectively 8 normal hits.
Here's a post from gamefaqs user Glavewurm which explains it - "'Attack' has a power of 16. Slice and Dice is 6 Power x 6 hits (boosted by time left, about a 40% increase on the first pass). Blitz Ace is 8 hits of 4 Power, + 1 hit of 24 (only the 24 Power hit is boosted by time left). Slice and Dice is Speed Rank 4, Blitz Ace 7 (lower is better, they are directly multiplied by turn tick, 'Attack' is Rank 3). If it won't end the fight, and you have access to more overdrives soon, Ace loses if it does 99,999 damage a hit. 899,991 damage for 10 ticks (170+ Agi (3 ticks) * 7 /2(Haste) truncated) is 89,999 a tick. Slice and Dice is 599,994 for 6 ticks or 99,999 a tick. (Quick Hit is 33,333 damage per tick). And Blitz Ace is only getting that close because Slice and Dice has been hitting the cap for awhile. Blitz Ace is better if it'll kill the target, a counter will kill Tidus or any other time where turn delay doesn't matter. And against things with really low Def, if you are only doing 1 overdrive. Short version: Weak, low Def enemies = Blitz Ace, anything else = Slice and Dice, usually.'Attack' has a power of 16. Slice and Dice is 6 Power x 6 hits (boosted by time left, about a 40% increase on the first pass). Blitz Ace is 8 hits of 4 Power, + 1 hit of 24 (only the 24 Power hit is boosted by time left). @@whirled_peasTo be fair, the only other viable strategy is to complete the sphere grid at huge effort then spam Quick Hits, Wakka's limit break, Auto-Life and Hyper Mighty G every single time, just to say you killed these bosses in a way you judge to be "right". Zanmato achieves the same result with less grinding.
It's a pretty common strategy, some of the most difficult battles even recommend it. As long as it helps you win and you feel sufficiently challenged that you had a good time, do whatever you want :) These tips and tricks are just guidelines to help you through.
If you can reflect a reflected flare, the spell would bounce back and forth like a ball on a two ridiculous trampolines. That’d be awesome, not gonna lie.

The only celestial weapon that’s blocked off by a dark aeon is tidus’s if you didn’t get it the first time. The only ones that block off anything important are Bahamut and Valefor (and shiva if you count three purple spheres). The rest you have to initiate the battle yourself
Took on Neslug today and completely forgot about the auto regen. I've never bothered doing the optional bosses until now. I love how easy a lot of then are with grinding and celestial weapons
Hey,just a noob question Can i kill all of the original creation, and nemesis with only auron, yuna, and rikku? i dont have anyother celestial weapon,i really wanna use tidus, but i cant get the sun sigil, and i hate blizball, is it possible to kill them or do i have to get attack wheel and world chamipon?
If you haven’t already found out for yourself, the party you mentioned will work against all the enemies in the monster arena. Other than penance I think your party can handle everything the game can through at you. Penance is definitely doable but attack reels does come in handy. I got tidus and wakka’s celestial weapons once and that was enough for a lifetime for me ha
han kvein I cannot get Tidus, Lulu, or Kimarhis Sigils. I’m just going to go forward with a powerful weapon for tidus, and mostly avoid using lulu and Kimarhi altogether when I get to that point.
Nemesis is far stronger than puny penance i have auto protect defense plus 20% and i ultra null all and i still got one shot by his special attack that hits the party
Al bhed potions shouldn’t work on wakka cause he’s canonically racist towards them, they should have played a voice line where he goes “nah men, is Al bhed!” And then proceed to heal the rest of them

Great sphere was a giant pain in my ass. Really annoying and very tricky opponent to defeat. But a good challenge nonetheless
Took on Neslug today and completely forgot about the auto regen. I've never bothered doing the optional bosses until now. I love how easy a lot of then are with grinding and celestial weapons
Already can kill Don Tonberry for the Ap trick
I hope to face Shinryu and win.
For Tidus
What if you don't have wakka's ultimate weapon, or overdrive? Not many people have time to play blitzball
It had to play maybe 15 blitzball matches to get all of wakka's over drives and sigil
Too bad we couldn't have 12 million hours like the bosses
Nemesis and Penance
Why do I watch this when Tidus takes 900 From Greater Sphere Ultima
Lol i defeated every monster, and nemesis won’t show up
Double check, the number 9 looks a lot like 10.
You also have to fight every boss in the arena i over do it and clear it all
Me slug you can use Bitlz Ace
Nemesis is far stronger than puny penance i have auto protect defense plus 20% and i ultra null all and i still got one shot by his special attack that hits the party
Hache-P
Ma quanto chiacchieri? È solo un giochino elettronico.
all these guides are the same, people just use quick hit and barely any other skills
Al bhed potions shouldn’t work on wakka cause he’s canonically racist towards them, they should have played a voice line where he goes “nah men, is Al bhed!” And then proceed to heal the rest of them
Monster arena was cancer
