- Death Battles, Sauron VS The Litch King, is easily one of the best episodes in this season, if not in the entirety of Death Battle. This episode is nearly perfect, almost 100/100. Everything from the analysis and research to the animation and script are brilliant. However, I had no idea this episode would be so nearly perfect the time I watched this episode. In fact this might become a charismas tradition to me simply because it is that good (And Christmas is also LOTR time of the year). So please join me on my journey of going from being uncertain to having this battle become one of my favorite battles in the entire 10 seasons of Death Battle.

Sauron didn't erupt Mt. Doom. The Lich King summoned a blizzard (ha, get it?) in order to blind Sauron. So Sauron, in the most casually epic flex since Goku VS Superman 2, erupted a fucking *volcano* to disperse the storm. That is so goddamn extra, I love it!
Personally not surprised Sauron cpuld win even though I had no idea about the island raising stuff or the moving of the sun. Just kinda gut feeling when you hear the dude is based on satan.
It's really really really hard to ever damage something that gets closer and closer to being biblically accurate.
Morgoth/Melkor is based on Satan. Sauron is/was his assistant.

The only thing that could defeat him would be either morgoth seeing how that dude is Lucifer of the Tolkien universe or you know just send biblical God after him

The reason Sauron's weakness is better is because the One Ring is very nearly indestructible. Only the most powerful dragons or the fires that birthed it can undo the One Ring's creation. Power isn't really what you need, it's symbolism which is big in Tolkien magic. Dragons are entities born of the concept of destruction in LoTR, their breath isn't fire in a traditional sense so much as the very essence of destroying something given physical form in the shape of fire. Even then it would of taken a dragon even greater then Smaug to have had a real shot at burning the One Ring. The fires of Mt Doom made the Ring and thus can unmake purely because of the symbolism involved there. Nothing else would cut it, not even Sauron himself could destroy it after he made it.
Meanwhile Frostmourne can be broken by just a large enough application of force. It's very durable, but not invincible. There's nothing truly special about the sword that destroyed it beyond being another extremely powerful magic weapon. End of the day Frostmourne doesn't have the symbolic protections that Tolkien style magic lends the One Ring.
Further Sauron's mace is an extremely powerful magical artifact too. It's modeled after Grond (Morgoth's weapon) and that alone makes it one of the mightiest weapons to have ever existed in Middle Earth. It's almost certainly Frostmourne's rival in at least some respect itself.
One of the things they didn't mention that also gave Sauron an edge is that none of the Lich King's powers are unique to his universe in this fight. Necromancy is a magical art in LoTR and Sauron is a master of necromancy himself. One of his other alias' is literally called The Necromancer. Very little of Arthas' powers would of been much of a surprise to Sauron.
No, it's specifically stated that _no_ dragonfire could damage the One Ring, not even Ancalagon the Black's

This fight was so cool. And rip deku. Asta would win. I'm sure they will buff deku and weaken asta but at the end we know the winner
