This was a great episode! I was really interested in the sponsor, too, but I can't do the free trial without getting out my credit card, and I'm not going to go in the other room and fish out my wallet for that.
They'll never stop butt... Wait... *they'll never stop, BUT I've sort of learned to accept their shenanigans and laugh at what nonsense they come up with.
So jellyfish have venomous shaped charges all over their tentacles, they sounds much cooler now, they're living minefield in a way, venomous minefield.
Jellyfish are truly fascinating. Love this episode! But I am all for a whole True Facts Episode about Hyenas that is narrated by creepy dave. (Not just a short clip!)
@@GM-cw9qr Octopi have already mastered short expeditions on land. Given a few million more years of evolution, they could be building space ships and going on expeditions in space. That is assuming they can evolve a better mechanism to stop themselves from eating their own children. Never eating again after having sex once works, but it sure makes passing knowledge down through multiple generations much more difficult. Starvation is an extreme penalty for losing virginity. Impressively, there is evidence that octopi have developed culture despite evolution's evil choices.
Ahh yes. Jellyfish. I said "I cannot get stung if I avoid the ocean." And they said "In your dreams" and then they torment me in my sleep. Literally had a dream once where I was dragged kicking and screaming into the jelly infested water of my local beach. Bluebottles (I know they're not related) also make regular appearances in my head. One dream I had I was at the beach, looked around and said "There are no bluebottles here, weird" only to turn around to see the beach festooned with them. I watched a family walk past me, only for a bluebottle the size of a small dog to run up to them on its tentacles and trip the couple's child over with its appendage. I have several more anecdotes of ethereal dream stingers, but I think this is plenty.
😂😂😂 Lost it at "farting out water-donuts"; laughed so hard I almost far... Anyway, the Attenborough-esque delivery is key, and somehow I'm in the mood for a Danish or a croissant this morning...
If you think this is strange, just.. do yourself a favor and never look into siphonophores. The more you know about them, the more your head will hurt when you think about them for too long.
You want jellyfish stings? Try being a deckhand on an Alaskan fishing boat during salmon season. You get rained on by jellyfish every time you bring in the net. Fun fact: You can't stop to treat the stings until after the catch is on board.

@@furiouskaiser9914 The Blue Footed mammary glands? 😂 I think he may have done a short video on them, or it might've been one of the animal awards videos, but I really only remember it because he did a song about them. But a longer video would be amazing, I bet it would get demonetized though.

I don't know why but jellyfish scare the hell out of me. I think it's the way they barely seem to move but yet hold so much death if you accidently bumped/trod on one. Fun fact about jellyfish, the jelly in their bell i has dispersed protein fibers that react to electric current that they create when they flex their actual myself. When theyre juveniles theyre basically just a muscle until they grow up

I can’t keep up with all these complex scientific terms.
*"Ribbed for pleasure version of itself"* is not a phrase I was expecting, even though I've been watching this channel for years.

Bringing smiles to people is truly noble work. And Ze does it while educating us. Thank you, Ze.
weaponized pubic hair, lol

Satan's Popcorn is also a fantastic term. XD
I'm fully expecting a "True Facts about Pumpkins" episode for Helloween.
I mean... we got one about Christmas trees after all.

Jellyfish. Not jelly. Not fish. More like slimy balloons with an attitude.
Jellyfish have eyes? Man as if they weren't already messed up enough...
They're living proof that you don't need a brain to be sentient.
They also taste pretty good with soy sauce!
Somehow it makes them even more creepy..
I mean, some clam species have 40-200 eyes at the edge of the shell opening (or mouth)
So I'm not surprised honestly...
Shhhh, they might see you saying that about them 😅
@@durratulaishah3703 Yeah, but clams are distantly related to octopuses which have really big eyes. I've never heard of jellyfish having eyes before.
