The Sinnoh Routes 216 & 217 might be annoying for their deep snow and hail, but I would take that over exploring the eastern sea routes of Hoenn for the first time in a playthrough all day. Western and southern ones are fine, they don't feel nearly as long and barren as anything past Lilycove City.
I get the annoyance for routes 216/217, but they're the first ever biome that represented winter in several countries, like Canada and Northern Japan. The game finally felt like it was trying to emulate reality instead of just giving you a "cold cave" like the seafoam islands or shoal cave to put their ice pokemon into.
Am i the only one who loves route 216 & 217? I rlly don’t care for the snow i love it and i have always loved it! Rlly felt special when i was a kid to get stuck in snow😂
Same, I don't particularly love getting stuck in the snow but everything else about those routes is so great. I just love the aestethics of the routes, and the music might just be my favourite route theme. I also love that it's one of the few times in pokemon where getting to a destination actually feels like a long and arduous journey, usually getting to places is very straightforward, really the only other long journey I can think of is climbing Mt Coronet to get to Spear Pillar. Maybe also Mt Silver and some of the various victory roads but those are already more debatable imo
It's one of those things where it helps build a certain feel for the climate of the region, something Sinnoh does pretty well. But if you're the type of person to play through the games a dozen times, I imagine it would get on your nerves real fast
In my experience, they (routes 216-217) are easily some of the most unique, yeah I'm not crazy for them but they arent THAT bad. I really despise the Hoenn water routes because it just goes ON AND ON... This almost reminds me that I haven't played Kalos since 2014/5. I remember nothing....
Route 216 ans 217 are one of my favourite Pokémon routes ever. Amazing soundtrack and very charming atmosphere
I will admit the soundtracks are solid
I agree

I absolutely love it I also think that diamond dust replaces it I guess
