I agree… Eric Johnson has been demoted to second place. LOL. Actually, although I am dazzled by Mancuso he’s not my favorite because he’s not melodic enough. Less notes and more melody is more my style. I prefer Eric Clapton, or even Jimi Hendrix. Not because they are technically better but because a lot of their solos become melodies. Mancuso is technically The best I’ve ever seen. But technique is not enough. There is more emotion in, say, a John Mayer solo. But Mancuso is very young… Hopefully he will mature. Once again not technically… But aesthetically. I’m sure most people wouldn’t agree with me but if I could talk to him I would say “slow down“ . But that’s just my two cents.

I am a 35 year old guitar passionate, stopping by to send my congratulations to this exceptionally talented young guitar player. Humble enought to: 1) stay home 2) allowing us into his own room. Guitar accomplishment is not at all based on looks, kickass attitude or even expensive gear. On the contrary, focusing on studying theory properly, understanding how this theory has been interpreted with a different approach, sound and tone by some of great precursers of the instrument he mentions are in my opinion atributes that lead to an impecable musician, like Matteo.

Matteo I brought my crystal ball and here is what I see. You have the mind of a dancer ; you're quiet and concentrated but you can move very dynamically, tonic. moving fluently from one to the other technic requesting precision of gestures. Of course you have a great musical sense and culture (clearly you love guitar).I think you use light gauge strings with relatively high volume amp. Your gear is very precisely set up. The good news is the slightest finger-string contact is heard, and the bad one is if you make a mistake, it will be specially spectacular ! If you add to that you worked early and very hard your guitar and the music, included theory in general, then one can start to figure out a bit where you come from. Thanks Matteo for this sharing.You were kind enough to show us a lot in a short time.

Sei riuscito a portare agli estremi il talento del tuo grande papà Vincenzo, mio vecchio amico e mentore, che purtroppo non vedo da tantissimi anni, ma che frequentavo tanto tempo fa a Roma . Non ho preso mai lezioni da lui, ma mi ha insegnato tanto . Ogni volta che ci vedevamo con una chitarra di mezzo cercavo di rubargli più cose possibile. Tu sei riuscito ad andare ben oltre. E sei bravissimo anche nello spiegare quello che fai . Ormai sei universalmente riconosciuto un top one e sono orgoglioso di te come se fossi un vecchio zio. Ti distingui dal resto dalla maggioranza dei tuoi funamblici coetanei chitarristi, per gusto ed originalità. He also plays classical guitar, so right hand 'approach' is natural regardless the type of guitar.

Non ho preso mai lezioni da lui, ma mi ha insegnato tanto . Ogni volta che ci vedevamo con una chitarra di mezzo cercavo di rubargli più cose possibile. Tu sei riuscito ad andare ben oltre. E sei bravissimo anche nello spiegare quello che fai . Ormai sei universalmente riconosciuto un top one e sono orgoglioso di te come se fossi un vecchio zio. Ti distingui dal resto dalla maggioranza dei tuoi funamblici coetanei chitarristi, per gusto ed originalità. Non è facile essere ipertecnici ed originali allo stesso tempo. molti suonano miliardi di note ma sembrano tutti fatti con lo stampino. Tu no .E questa, che considero in parte un' eredità paterna, credimi che non è poco . Fanne altri di questi video illuminanti . Grazie ancora e tanto tanto successo ! Salutami papà !
