  • In this series, we’ll be canoe camping through a remote section of wilderness in the incredible Wells Gray Provincial Park. Situated in the western shadow of the Rocky Mountains, Wells Gray is a 2000km wilderness park, famous among paddlers from across the world. While the park boasts a myriad of paddling routes, our target for this trip is the mighty Murtle Lake.

What a great trip in another beautiful spot. Love that the subscribers are slowly creeping up, and waiting for the algorithm magic to happen when people discover what you have to offer. All the best - keep them coming!

Hi Chris! My pleasure - glad you enjoyed it and thanks again for commenting and supporting our channel.
Absolutely! I’ve got a few winter camping episodes I’m editing now and I’ll be back out again over the holidays to film some hot tent and winter boat camping. So, lots more on the way very shortly!

I am researching out locations for a wilderness canoeing trip for 2025. We are heading to the BWCA in Minnesota this October. This looks like a potential for the short list for 2025. What month was this filmed? Any advice? fyi, we live in a lodgepole pine log cabin in the Central Oregon Cascades. Life is good, 3 inches of snow this morning 5/2/24

Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I’m very jealous of your trip to BWCA. Looks like incredible country! This series was filmed in the first week of July 2023. Murtle is a huge lake but I’d recommend starting with the North Arm first. There’s a lot less traffic than the west arm and it’s got more of a backcountry feel to it. The west arm has better fishing and more camping options though, so that’s something to keep in mind. Like most big lakes the wind kicks up in the afternoon, so I’d try and get your paddling done as early as possible. Tight lines!

@@cedarcabinsociety Thank you for the input. Boots on the ground or paddle in the water yields the best advice.
