Just one of the best most Iconic entertainers of all time, Rick Nelson, man did I ever love this guy!! 👍🏽 One evening in San Francisco I saw Rick and the Stone Canyon Band play a dinner show! They took a break between sets, however, Rick didn’t! He stayed on stage and did something I never knew about him!! He sat down at the Piano and played the best damn Blues music I had ever heard! He was totally amazing and brilliant at playing Blues Piano‼️❤️👍🏽 R.I.P. Rick Nelson …Formerly Little Ricky from the Ozzie & Harriet Show!! Ya, I watched that show as a kid and was always mesmerized by Rick Nelson’s talent.!! ❤️👍🏽
Man! The first time I heard Rick's cover, I was completely blown away! Rick's voice is simply unique, and phenomenal! I was just mesmerized by Rick's version of, "DREAM LOVER", and I just knew the late, great, Bobby Darin, would be totally proud of Rick reviving one of his great hits. Rick was special, and his warmth and great talent came shining through to the millions of fans that loved him. Our heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the sould of Rick Nelson for giving us so many years of enjoyment. We love Ya, Rick!
Kristelyn, I'm an American combat Veteran, and I don't easily cry. But, just as Yourself, when Rick Nelson tragically died on New Year's Eve, I cried off and on, throughout that long sad night. Thank You for your sensitive input. Rick was a phenomenal talent, and we'll always miss him dearly.
Ricky's sons, Matthew and Gunnar, of the group Nelson, do a tribute show to their Dad, called 'Ricky Nelson Remembered', singing his songs, along with videos and stories, and tour the Country with it. Great show! Great sons!
It is amisfortune that Ricky Nelson is no longer among us ,however ,I and all those who like his songs will go on listening to them until the remainder of our lives .
Makes me cry. I'll never forget hearing about his death. It was New Year's Eve, right? I spent the night with friends; slept on their sofa; listening to radio all night (couldn't sleep); heard the news break on the radio...cried till dawn and most of the next day.
I well remember that New Years evening. Was with friends at their home listening to the radio when we got the sad news. The celebration ended right then.
Ricky has the most beautiful version of this song. His voice is perfect!! Bobby has Mack the Knife and so many greats of his own. RIP both of these great singers!! Thank you for posting!!
Rick and The Stone Canyon Band were great. I saw them at Mr. Kelly's in Chicago in 1979. I remember Rick all the way back to "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" days. Rick had a great voice in 1957, and was a great performer until his untimely death in 1985.
He had such a beautiful voice! Not many people get better looking as they get older, but, boy, he sure did! I could look at and listen to him all day long!!
I figured he looked about 35 here. Try 45? Dayum! He sounded good too, turning the somewhat brassy and hectic original into a chill rumination on loneliness.
Chanteur magnifique de beauté et de sensualité, sa voix est tellement agréable à écouter, il nous manque beaucoup, il est tellement attachant, on l aime pour toujours, bonjour de France🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
I met my first dream lover in a dream a couple of nights ago. I'm no young chick anymore. And never dreamed that, that kind of life happened in a dream, not sexual, loving. And I just now posted on another site that Ricky was my dream lover when I was young, so I would never dream alone, and that I never missed a show, and, honestly, I never knew Ricky sang this song😳 Then to my shock, here it is! The guy in my real as life dream, had short hair in front and shoulder length hair in the back. No, it couldn't have been Ricky. I only thought of Ricky today, sorry to say, but what a coincidence ‼️😳 And he & I lived outside. He had a small row boat and we had to separate because a family unrelated, would call me in to eat, our house by the river, but him & I couldn't tell anyone of our relationship. I woke up, thinking, " There was no reason to hide it. " why were we hiding our relationship? My real dream lover.👄💑. I said, " oh, that song! Now I know what it means after all these years. There really is a real life dream lover. I hope I see him again. He made me so happy! ❤️ And Ricky sang the song! Now that's spooky.

Quel beau chanteur physiquement et à l intérieur de lui, quelle belle voix tendre, on craque devant tellement de beauté et d humilité❤❤❤
Me too brother, I was always mesmerized by the talent and sound of this phenomenon known as Rick Nelson!! ❤️👍🏽
Never lost his touch with his older songs.😊

This is my favorite version "Dream Lover". Stripped down, with the tempo slowed, it sounds more melancholy than the Bobby Darin version.
It is amisfortune that Ricky Nelson is no longer among us ,however ,I and all those who like his songs will go on listening to them until the remainder of our lives .
Everything he covered, I thought he did better than those who originally recorded the songs! 😊💕♥️
I wish I could’ve been born earlier so I could see Ricky live.
What a time to be alive.

Love this version. He sings so fine. He is a Dream Lover.
"You can't please everyone...so you got to please yourself." ....Rick Nelson, "Garden Party". Thanks Rick....for the "Life Lesson"!
Great slow tempo, which made this particular song even that much better! Way to go, Rick!
Yes! It really did! I mentioned the same thing, elsewhere!
As years went by, Rick matured and became a better singer and performer.
I agree. I liked "Garden Party."
Love his version here and was he not the most beautiful man to ever live wow
Oh absolutely he was so gorgeous I loved his blue eyes I loved looking in them while Rick was on stage I sure miss them and Rick .

What a great version of the song and Rick always had that special sound.
Better than the original
I did to and I just sat and played my Rick Nelson records that night
One of a kind. One of Rock's pioneers. Spawned a family of singers.
I loved Rick Nelson and he was so, dare I say it, pretty.
Oh yeah he was prettier than most girls.
He had such a beautiful voice! Not many people get better looking as they get older, but, boy, he sure did! I could look at and listen to him all day long!!

He was 39 but looked 20
Was it really in 1975? It thought it was later.. about 1978 or 79.. but I must be wrong ^^ Anyway, this is beautiful ! Thank you ! =)

Such a soothing voice for this song.

@johnnykits Happy to share :)
Did he first perform this on Saturday Night Live in 1979? This is what I think musician, John Beland, said.

I have been trying to view the interview from Phil Donahue's show. Know where I could find that? Thanks for posting this. Enjoyed it.
Did you take any photos of Rick when you saw him? Currently working on a photo book and looking for photos. Thanks.
Should of been a Comeback Hit. Wasn’t released properly. 🎵
@hsmgeek4ever NBC won't let me post the SNL footage, if you upload it, it's blocked worldwide.
Can we rent or purchase it? Do ya know?
Love Ricky.
Miss him so much. Loved Kristen Harmon and Rick Nelson the beautiful yet tragic couple
The perry Como of rock n roll
Bobby darin make this song.
was this the SNL performance?
That’s what I’m looking for...the whole Saturday Night Live episode he was on!
@@cynthiaennis3107 I have it but copyright keeps taking it down 😢
Lol @ his eyebrow when he realized the reverb wasn’t on
Huh?
Makes Bobby Darin's version sound ridiculous.
Rick Nelson had a great voice and presence. No one like him.
Bobby Darin wrote the song, so that's kind of disrespectful.
