Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of 2 Canadian airports that have a non-stop flight to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL). The other Canadian airport you're wondering is Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ). What I can see on one website of direct flights is that NAIA serves 4 American destinations and 2 Canadian destinations which are the only destinations to North American countries from Manila. Speaking of American destinations from Manila, 4 of them are HNL, LAX, SFO & JFK. Yes, you heard me right. There are no direct flights to Portland (PDX) or Seattle/Sea-Tac (SEA) from Manila. Neither did Chicago-O'Hare (ORD) since that airport doesn't serve any Southeast Asian flights.

All 4 American destinations and 2 Canadian destinations are routes of Philippine Airlines.

If the Sangley Point Airport is done, well a world class airport in Cavite City serving Manila, I wish longer flights to Toronto, New York City and Istanbul will be transfered there. Also, I wish there are new long distance routes to Europe and North America just like how Haneda and Narita serve non-stop flights to long distance routes.

I just wished IAD (Washington-Dulles) would get nonstop flights to NAIA in Manila.

@@EC4U2C_Studioz, it's impossible to do that. If only Sangley Point Airport is finished, it will retain the 6 North American flights NAIA serves, and maybe it'll link Washington-Dulles. Not only that, I'm sure it'll link Boston and Newark NJ. For more North American destinations, I wish Manila-Sangley links Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Chicago-O'Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston-Bush, Denver, Seattle, Mexico City, and Montreal, all that are world class airports serving multiple flights across almost all continents. As for New Manila/Manila-Bulacan, it'll be the same as Sangely, except it won't serve Atlanta, Detroit, Houston-Bush, and Mexico City, but unlike Sangley, I hope NMIA will serve other destinations such as Calgary, Portland OR, Las Vegas and San Jose CA.

I'll remember to print my boarding passes, to have them when we get there, for the prior flight and connection.
We're connecting at YVR as well, to FRA, but only we have 1hr 25mins. it looks like you don't have to go back thru security, is that correct? We are in the first row in the plane to YVR....so we'll be first off. Looks pretty easy and straightforward. I'll remember to print my boarding passes, to have them when we get there, for the prior flight and connection

Interesting, so if I fly from Asia -> YVR -> USA, I don't officially enter Canada (because I go to the US Preclearance immediately), but if I do the reverse, I will have to officially enter Canada because all Non-US departure gates don't distinguish domestic and international passengers?

For the layover it really just depends if you are first off the flight and if your flight is the only one going through. But shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes

I’m planning transit at YUL for Tokyo from New York.
Did you use「Arrive CAN 」for customs?
