Cons of sunroof:
1) leakage refer to recent Harrier incident
2) Shattering
3) adds extra weight to the car as the system is heavy
4) spitting Pan or falling coconut or birds poop
5) unwanted debris can fall into your car
6) incase water leaks, then it's whole mess
Sunroof is meant for European countries where they rarely see sun and pls understand the technology before purchasing. Whether it's factory built sunroof or after market, water finds its own way.. good luck to all the sunroof holders 😂

My Merc E class 2008 model sunroof glass came off at high speed, even today am wondering what the mechanic wondered on that day about how a factory installed roof fell off at the speed of 140+ km/h. I have mailed the dangerousness of the issue to Merc and believe me their response was pretty quick and even got the replacement in half the price with the apology reply along with some investigation findings on why the sunroof glass came off and with some goodies when i went to collect the car. Win-win for Merc and myself. But, its a scary experience as it could have easily knocked off a person if he stood in its way when it was flying, worst case it could have killed anyone. Yeah like Faisal said, its a very cool impressive feature to impress any girl...i did couple of times...errrrr...my car did it couple of times...😜

Most, if not all cars with sunroof, are not officially capable of caring additional stuff on the roof bars. The producers usually register the roof weight capacity as 0kg, so even if the roof bars fit, in case of accident you can have problems with insurance since you were not using the vehicle 'the way it is intended'.
The problem comes down to the fact, that metal is much more elastic and can sustain the weight of bikes, box even while driving at high speeds. The glass is much more rigid and is more prone to cracking. I am not saying it is completely impossible to use roof bars with glass roof, but keep in mind that there is a reason car manufacturers tend to disallow it.

@@RespectAllBeings6277 should do channeling works properly..no issues....ma friend installed aftermarket sunroof to skoda octavia as back then in 2008..no sunroofs were there...no issues until 5 years...after 5 years its motor became slow..which is common in even factory fitted roofs too..including the mercedes too
I Live In Manali. And Here I Can Use The Sunroof To A Good Effect. In Peak Winters Driving On Winter Roads With Harsh Cold Waves Makes Driving Difficult. A Sunroof Lets The Sunlight In Which Warms The Cabin.

And the advantage of Panoramic Sunroof is that it lets in more light to make the cabin look airy and that's why I love it!
Panoramic roof is making the cabin hot in a sunny day even with the shades closed. I have checked in MG Hector, its seriously hot inside when I have tested that in Chennai. Its useless in cities like chennai, which is hot most of the months in a year.

Which car do u use
Sunroofs are big safety risk during accidents. Steel roof and airbags around windshield will protect you but Glass roof will easily break and will cause the death of the person inside.

@@FasBeam so you had the one which was later launched with 1.8. i thought yours was the one which was launched right at the beginning with 1.6 L petrol engine, the one used in daewoo Nexia. Because Chevrolet Optra was a rebranded Daewoo Nubira.
