I've only had flour porridge to stop diarrhea. In that case, you parch flour in a hot pot. When the flour is brown, you add water and stir briskly and continuously to prevent lumps. You can add a little sweetener but because we don't consider it *porridge porridge*, I don't add spices and such. It's fairly effective.

The first time I had that was the same situation. Funds were low and my older cousin got very creative…that was the first time I knew flour could be used to make porridge.😮But I was grateful for her wisdom.😅😅🙏🏾

In Haiti we call it « labouyi ». At times we blend the plantain porridge with the skin on it. It gives it a darker color but is a great source of fiber. Delicious !

I live in Illinois and what I use to make for my son's and daughter for breakfast sometimes was the same concept that I call Cream Of Wheat. They sell it in the store but, I made mine by cooking grits with salt and butter. When creamy I put in bowls adding sugar & milk. Delicious, I still make it for myself! Would you make Green Seasoning for those that can't handle the scotch bonnet peppers please🙏🏼

    • @TERRIANNSKITCHEN

This is made fresh every morning however you do have the option to make a big batch and store in individual containers for up to 2 days in the fridge or 1 month in the freezer. When thawing remove from freezer the night before and warm up/ heat up in the morning!
