This made me tear up and I don’t even know her. Especially when she said, “this is a perfect ending to a perfect show. I love you all, goodbye.” **gives us a kiss** and talked about how she hates getting old. But she was still happy and full of energy. You don’t see a lot of that in a old person.
Love you Clara and I hope you enjoy your stay in heaven. Your recipes taught us a lot about how you lived and how to cook!! You were full of energy and seemed happy about your life. You were basically a star, so bright and warm. We all loved your stories about how you used to live and how everything was back then. You never made those stories boring, as we would sit and listen to every bit of it. I really wished you were my grandma. If we could pick a third grandma, it’ll be you. You seem like a lovely lady and I hope you teach the angels some of those recipes.
We love and miss you, bye Clara!😊🖐🏼❤️

Now that she's no longer with us, I still come back & watch them from time to time when I need a wholesome "fix". It's amazing how attached we can become to someone we never even met in this life. And, yet, when Clara says at the end, "I love you all. Goodbye," I can't help but tear up. She lived a very long life but I still wish we could've had her with us just a little bit longer. She never knew it. Clara taught me a lot in her videos and she also got me through some rough times in the past couple of years, too. What a sweet lady.

I believe this is my third time watching through Clara’s videos. And the thing that strikes me compared to today’s living and cooking is how she doesn’t have the latest fanciest cookware dishware stove or anything. She uses it until it’s wore out. That’s how they made it through the depression I only hope that people of this generation catch on to this idea to make it through this next great depression. Love Clara

The hardest life isn’t being poor it’s being poor and have bad parents or having no parents at all. Times were as hard for me as a child i’m 41 as if it was the Great Depression. Gas and lights were turned off many times, very little food, my dad beat my mom everyday, she finally left when I was 10 and my sister was 14. My mom became a drug addict and lived in and out of mental wards for 20 years. My sister got pregnant at 15 and did her own thing. And I bounced around house to house with family that didn’t give a shit whether I ate, went to school or had underwear or a bra. In between my mom would get sober for a few months and come get me. We lived here there and everywhere and than I started battling an illness. I’m 41 now and still battling it but try and remain grateful for what I have now. I’m just trying my best to make sure my daughter has the best life possible. A good education is important to me for her but also that she is resourceful and crafty like Clara and me. I know a lot of her dishes cause I learned to cook at 11 cause I was all I had most the time. I lived on a lot of sandwiches and tortillas wasn’t much veggies or fruit and usually only at once a day. 🙏🏼

Never take people from older generations for granted. They can teach you so much more than you could ever imagine. They have lived through things that most people couldn't even dream about. Try to soak up every last bit of knowledge from them, because sadly, they will not be with us forever. I am so thankful that Clara shared some of her life with us before she passed.

I’ve watched this video and tried to make tomato sauce like this over and over. It gets better every time - but I’m not convinced Ms Clara would recognize it as her own recipe just yet. However, it’s late summer and there are loads and loads of fresh, local tomatoes at the farmer’s market- so it’s time to try again and see if I can make her proud :-) It’s a lot of work, but somehow I feel like I owe it to her to get it right!

Just watched this esposode even after watching a few.
She said she thinks she lived this long for a purpose unknown to her.
Although my lovely Clara you have passed a fair while ago I have a reason for me.
One of your purposes was to make me and others happy. Your warmth and knowledgeable me feel like I was with my Nanna. I wish I could have cooked with you and hugged you!
I lost my Nanna at a young age and although i live in Australia and discovered your beautiful video's long after you passed; you remind me of mine who also grew up in the great depression.

Even though she lived a long life it makes me sad hearing she passed. My mom died last month and she was only 64. I keep thinking how unfair it is that other people get to be with their mom's on earth for 60+ years before they pass but here I am, 31 and motherless. Some people may think I'm old enough to accept it but no matter what age you are, it's never easy to lose your mother. Even if my mom lived to 100, it would have still been the hardest thing.
She went on hospice and died 7 days later at home. I was with her everyday because I quit my job and moved across state to be close to here. Nobody expected her yo go so fast be we knew it was going to happen. The day I found out she went on hospice, I was out of town visiting friends. I rushed back home that night and went to her room where she was set up with a hospital bed and such to keep her comfortable and hugged her and started crying. She told me I knew this was coming. Even though I knew it, I wanted her to keep fighting. I didn't want to lose her. Nobody would want that. Nobody can prepare themselves for that.
Even though I was with her everyday, I don't feel like I said enough. I don't feel like I hugged her enough. I don't feel like I said I love you enough. No matter what I actually did, it can never be enough knowing I can never hug her again or say I love you to her again. It hurts a lot.

I’m 32 and they’re in their late 60s. I get scared thinking about what I will do when one of them gets sick because I won’t be able to be there. I have my husband and my job to think about.
