Oh man, I saw this earlier this week on a trailer on 75 @ 380 in McKinney and as I passed by I noticed the white Suburban pulling and thought of you, told my buddy that would probably be seeing this in a video!! Love all the content keep'em coming and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!
An uncle bought one of these, brand new, and we used to cruise back and forth from Abbeville, La to Jasper, Tx, about 115 miles depending on which way you went. There weren't any interstates or radial tires in those days but that didn't slow him down. The trip would take about an hour and a half. It was comfortable, heavy, and easily accommodated six people. Good memories, good family, good times. The next one he got was a Roadmaster.
How about a video of the Pontiac , this Buick & your Caddy side by side in the yard comparing styling & features? That would be cool. The '50s thru late '70s G.M. products are my favorite.
Your Buick is as old as me. Keep up the good work Ben. You’re an amazing young man. Thanks for bringing these old cars back to life. Especially enjoy the C3 Vette videos. Proud owner of a beautiful red 73 vette. Bought my first one, a beautiful red 77 vette when I was 25. Owned one ever since then.
Been watching your videos for years Ben but your passing comment about the recalled jackstands made me check mine. Sure enough they are the ones recalled. You helped me out a bunch!
My Aunt Margie had a passion for the '54 Buick Super 2 door...bought white with red top and interior, power windows, seats, etc. Remember when she picked me up (was very young) at grandmother's house in Port Arthur....then drove .over to her house in Lake Charles...one of favorite trips..windows down...cruising on highway at night...ah memories.
Very cool! I just got a 57 Bel-Air in about the same cosmetic condition. It's quite a bit less rusty. I agree, the patina on your car is cool. I like blue, so that helps. I think those covers go over the spark plugs and hold the wires out of site. We have several old straight 8 Buicks and they have a similar cover on the side of the head. That's cool you have those with your car. Great project!
My mother had the same Buick only her's was red with a black roof. She loved that Buick. Kept is 8 years. That was a lot of time for the 50's and 60's. Good luck with it. Looks like this one may have started life as Ocean Mist Green color.
Brings back a lot of memories, spent my early childhood in a '55 Special, green. I remember the ventaports. I also seem to remember that the trunk and door locks had escutcheon plates.
This is another "if I remember right" moment, but the "V" in hood ornament indicates Buick's adoption of modern OHV v-8's -- the famed "nailhead." The prior year, and perhaps some installs from '54, were the long-running straight 8. With low octane gasoline, straight 8's of the flathead and OHV variety made more sense. Post-WWII, not as much and in-line 8's have joined the dinosaurs.
Never was a fan of patina, always felt it was just an excuse not to do the cosmetics. When's the last time you saw a Vette owner bragging about the patina on their '63 split window?
this appeals to many folks..i, for one, enjoy these before/after videos..Feng shui?? don't know if that is it..but all i know is like it..and do some more....btw..like the blue wheels..
There's just something so satisfying about power washing. I just uploaded a video of us picking up an old 61 Chevy apache c10 for my 14 years old son. Unfortunately we didn't get that satisfying clean feeling after power washing lol
@Eric donner normally power wash the big stuff off then go back with soap. That's what I do. You don't want to grind the dirt in. Knock the big stuff off then clean with soap like your should
get it road ready running/driving and, clearcoat it then clean up interior and off she goes! majority of people want these cars still stock. they are so much fun. p.s patch up some rust.
Snow foam the cars first dirt will come off much easier love these old American cars a rare sight on uk roads when there isn't a classic car show on somewhere
Finding any old Buick in that kind of shape for its age is still a good deal.

It's amazing how some pressurized water can make all the difference in the world. Removes all the loose paint too.

YA BABY!
Those 2 covers that you found in the boot r worth MONEY 💰…….to the right people.
Been watching your videos for years Ben but your passing comment about the recalled jackstands made me check mine. Sure enough they are the ones recalled. You helped me out a bunch!
The 2 covers in the trunk go over the spark plugs and wires. I had a 1956 2 door Special that had similar covers on it. Memories!

This has all the bones for a great rebuild.
Always liked the '54s, but this one is gonna need a lot of love.
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
I have the same exact car!!! Oh this is awesome!!
This is a VERY cool old car. Well worth the time and effort to restore, hotrod or whatever.
I have a friend that has the same exact car, he did a total off the body restoration. The new book value is 100,000.00....
Ohh a new project and free money also I call that a win

Cool car. I bought a 1940 Buick Special. I have to do the same thing as you are doing. I can't wait. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
My dad had a 54 Buick just like this one. I got my drivers license using it back in 1955.
Brings back a lot of memories, spent my early childhood in a '55 Special, green. I remember the ventaports. I also seem to remember that the trunk and door locks had escutcheon plates.
Very nice ride!
Great choice in music for this car.
My favorite year for Buicks! Good choice of music for the video too.
An excellent companion to the '55 Pontiac and '56 Cadillac. And a Nailhead Buick V-8.
Can’t have dirty rust lol, hope to see her running again!
I saw it for sale on FB too and thought what a cool old car! glad it went to you! I look forward to anything your going to do to it!
Love that grille!

I like it.
I think these Buick Specials are really ... well ... special. Good score!. I'd be inclined to keep it. :)
We have the exact same car sitting in the barn on my family’s property right now 😂 1954 Buick Special 48d
Beautiful 2 door ,that be a keeper just like your Cadillac
Nice ride Ben 👌
Next year all cars will have 3 holes in the side !!!
Lol 😂
Hey Ben, as to painting, it’s yours do it your way!
Never was a fan of patina, always felt it was just an excuse not to do the cosmetics. When's the last time you saw a Vette owner bragging about the patina on their '63 split window?
Patina is just a way of trying to be cool and different like those dweebs who still buy vinyl records.
AMEN! I can't wait for FAD of the clear over crappy rusty dented cars goes away.
Patina is just another way of saying rust, dirt, filth and bird poop.
Watching that color pop as the grime comes off is just....ah...
*chefs kiss*
If you pre soak the car with a mix of water and Dawn about four to one and add a bit of kerosene it will go much faster and be more effective.
this appeals to many folks..i, for one, enjoy these before/after videos..Feng shui?? don't know if that is it..but all i know is like it..and do some more....btw..like the blue wheels..
particularly like this year buick and body style looks worth saving
That sure is one huge hunk of iron! More fun videos on this one coming?
Nice stablemate for the Cadillac and your wife's Pontiac
There is a 58 special sitting in the middle of the forest behind my house rusting away it’s kinda sad
I recall my parents 54 Secial.. it was dark blue:)
Another cool old car... thanks for posting. What's going on with the Pontiac?

Spark plug wire covers.
Always wash from top first to bottom.
Trunk bigger than a NYC apartment
They cover the plug wires on the sides of the engine
A bit more interesting than watching paint dry --- but not by much.
"Patina"? That ain't patina that is just crummy. Definitely repaint it.
You need to drag race the wife in her Pontiac with this car Ben!
*Did you remove the body out of it... LOL*
Can you post a video of how to do a comprehension test?.?.
I think I have a misfire and trying to figure out what’s causing it
Hey ben how far are you from houston tx?
Four hours
Definitely needs
A NEW PAINT JOB!!
BEFORE THE RUST BEGINS TO EAT HER
AWAY!!!! 😎👍
Wasn’t that bought for your wife to work on & was her first motor to bring back to life??
Maga murica right here!
Don’t touch the paint 67 years of character
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE 1955 PONTIAC?????
More Cadillac
You really need to get working on your wife's old car!
Uhmmmm I don't think a power wash is going to fix it.
I am a patina fan also. Of course it depends on the car and character of the patina.
👍🍻
Patina Rod?
I would just clear coat it done. Car earned that beautiful patina
Cool car needs a good scrubbing and buffing Derik from vice grip garage will show you how then some sweet patieana sauce from puddin's fab shop.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful but this car is in really bad shape usually when they power wash it comes out really nice
That's your wife's car ?oops went back and checked my bad
Do the bodywork and paint it a Blue Metallic Metal Flake...
that car will never be restored. big big money there
Power-wash Porn
