    I worked my up from giving rides at the local grass strip, to a CFI, to CFIAIME, to flying Part 135 freight and air taxi. From there I made it to executive charter Captain, next stop was ATP… but then, a medical condition abruptly ended my flying career. Videos like yours keep me connected to aviation. Thanks for doing them. PS -That Embraer Phenom looks SWEET.

    Jesse, the explanation of the procedures and the overlays, combined with narration are top notch. Appreciate all the time and effort that you're putting into these, keep it up! Definitely one of the best aviation youtubers around.

  • @cydoniaquest

    I'm amazed at how busy you are during this flight...There is not one second that goes by where you're not doing something....I guess I shouldn't be surprised with an airplane this fast single pilot, but you truly mean it when you say there's no time to just look out the window.

    • @IllFlyIt
      @IllFlyIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah the short flights like this are a lot busier. We routinely fly FTW-DAL and DAL-FTW which is usually 10-15 minutes total. Those flights can get very busy if ATC gives you the short flight directly over DFW.

      The Aerobask Phenom 300 $45 for X-plane is G1000 identical to this aircraft/cockpit. It includes some great popouts for the GCU477 and Keyboard sync mode. I use this aircraft on a 3 wide monitor system with Air Manager/Knobster and a touchscreen below. There is touchscreen and knob twisting capability (knobster) for the PFD/MFD/GCU477 and the GFC700 autopilot. This method is far superior to using a mouse or VR with controllers that always misfire when twisting. Not affiliated. Good Luck.

    New to your videos. Thanks for doing them. Very professional and interesting to watch. My only negative comment is that I thought you were distracted during engine start and not paying close attention to start temps. Again, thanks for taking the time to post these videos.

    • @IllFlyIt
      @IllFlyIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jerry! You’re right I wasn’t paying attention 100% to the engine starts. I’ve gotten spoiled by FADEC handling the start ups perfectly over the years. The FADEC has protections built in in case the start doesn’t go normally but pilot intervention can eliminate the need for costly inspections even if the FADEC aborts the start.
      Typically the PW535 engines start up cool even with a slight tailwind. The first indication of something abnormal is usually the sound the engine makes. Embraer SOP requires pilot to have headsets on for engine start which I don’t like. I like to hear my engines spool up on start and can tell if something isn’t going as planned. On the flip side, the Phenom 100 was very troublesome starting with weak batteries (24v), ANY tailwind, or a weak GPU.

    Who needs a computer when they've got you, Jesse? So thorough and disciplined, you are! Great vid. Only suggestion I would make is if you could make the ATC audio level a little lower than your mike. Some of the spurious ATC audio makes it hard to understand what you are saying for us and the recorder.

    Excellent video thanks.I’ve been watching P1D as well as others and am subscribed. It’s a privileged insight thanks.Do you talk out all your checks when not on camera as a single pilot? Is the phenom 300 easier than a Premier 1 to fly single pilot. Thanks and keep safe.

    This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on TH-cam with a great pilot. Yes seem to really know your stuff. I hope someday to see one of these aircraft someday. I live near KANE.

      Thanks Paul, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I flew into Anoka once many years ago in a Shorts 360 carrying auto parts. Hopefully I’ll come back in the Phenom one day.

      JesseFlies I would have to take you to a place called Shortstop, they make the best burgers in this state. Your cockpit looks very to nice to follow when you fly. Please film another video soon. Do you have more on TH-cam
