- Is the 2016 GMC Canyon Duramax Diesel the most fuel efficient pickup truck in the land? We find out on this episode of the TFLtruck's highway MPG test. This midsize truck has a 2.8L I4 turbo-diesel engine with 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque and a 6-speed automatic linked to a 3.42 rear axle ratio.

I got 35 mpg on my chevy 2wd Colorado diesel 2.8, on a 125 miles loop couldn't be happier.
I've always said the EPA underestimates diesel mpg and I also say it's no mistake. They don't want diesels in America.
Silly. If they put out less emissions then gas with the current tech they are up for it. It’s just the coal rolling hill jacks we don’t want.
Drove a diesel VW and checked the EPA estimate, Almost half of real world figure from those liars.
Awesome video! I'm glad to see GMC finally offer a small displacement (2.8 litre) diesel for their smaller trucks. I would like to see more small displacement diesel engines become available.
Lmao that truck gets better gas mileage than my Camry
It doesn't use gas
Just a recap: 181 HP, 369 torque, 2.8L Durax, 4 cylinder, 4x4, 31.3 MPG.
great shirt Nathan! I thoroughly enjoy watching the weekly videos. keep up the great work!
Great Work? Surly you jest. These are the clowns who said the Mercedes Metris was a "modern" Minivan with antiquated controls and a SOLID 3rd row that weighs 120 lbs, requiring a lift to get it out, while EVERY Minivan now has "Stow and Go".
In Australia you can get those Charades with a 3cyl 1L turbo diesel engine. 2.8L of fuel per 100km,.
+Car Nut Australia is not relevant!!
I suppose you're American.
+Huevo Duro702 You're an idiot. Aussies have an ass ton of sweet RWD V8 cars
Huevo Duro702 Aussie is awesome dude they're the reason America is putting diesels in half tons and mid sized trucks. FCA is going to be putting diesels in their jeeps too. That's all because of demand from Americans after seeing what Australia has been doing for years. People are tired of buying half ton v8 engines that boast 18mpg mixed at best... and really only get 16 mixed.
Huevo Duro702 Also 2.8L per 100k is 84 mpg. IN A TRUCK
Well I hope you're proud of yourselves. I just put a green SLT on order but went with the cocoa dune interior. Thanks TFL, good videos and GMC should be happy with your work.
GF x mpg
Diesel 30x30=900. $149.7
Gas 30x24=720. $ 119.7
$30÷3.99=7.5 g
7.5g ×24mpg= 180m
720m + 180m = 900
The industry never loss
You think that the government did not make the calculations before putting the price on fuel, it is the same as ethanol. they never lose
My 2015 Mazda 6 gets 31 mpg overall. I drive mostly highway too. This truck is on the watch list for me.
it would be super hard to do, but new diesel tests need to factor regins both in their impact on mpg for that tank and how often do they get performed
Good video guys. I like the real world test and how consistent you are. I can't wait too see what Ford and Nissan are going to do in this class. I commute 75 miles everyday, I would love to leave my focus and drive a truck again. great mpg, but the 44k is a bit much.
Just got mine with exact trim in Black! I'm a complete Diesel Maniac and currently own a 2013 6.6 Duramax....I absolutely loved my 7.3 2001 Ford F-350 but had big issues with the tranny..."as if I had to mention it" lol. Had a few more fords in Diesel including an 06 and an 11. After buying my 13 Sierra 3500, I'll never go back to any other than the Duramax! I have my Canyon for exactly a week to this comment and have put 263mi so far averaging 29.3 mpg.....I'm totally loving it and hate to say it but enjoying it a bit more than the 6.6 at this time!
I love the idea of a small diesel truck. if only they still made Dakotas. I think a eco Dakota would be pretty sweet.
Gladiator
The dakota is coming back
Wow. That's about the same mpg I get in my Honda Civic . That's crazy for a truck
do u have an si?
I was pretty convinced on this truck before watching this video. Now I'm sure I need to buy this. Diesel is what it's all about, I cant wait to test drive it. GMC dealerships seem to be pretty limiting when it comes to different packages including duramax
I can't wait to buy one of these
If that engine is made by Isuzu, it’s a tough one. I buy if so.
LOVING THAT DIESEL! THAT'S CRAZY MPG!
I just special ordered a fully loaded, leather, bose, 6ft bed , desil, all terrain and after rebate paid 43k
My friend had an '89 Charade. It was a 3 cyl. There was a 4 cyl model as well.
My sister had one lol
Wow! That's an impressive number. I just wish you could get the diesel in different cab configurations. I don't need or want a double cab. :(
Thank you for this test. This and your towing MPG test with this 2.8L diesel is exactly what I wanted to learn about. I know the V6 has already been tested by you, but I would love to see this 98 mile loop test done on that V6 Canyon/Colorado towing and not towing to get a good gas engine comparison against this expensive Duramax alternative?
When including cost of DEF into the gas consumption, I wonder how the diesel cost/mpg compares to the cost/mpg of the V6?
whats it running with the tailgate off or a bed cover ? the ram ecodiesels are having serious problems with metal in the fuel system.
I wish you had a mpg test video for the ZR2 Bison with the 2.8. They’re rated at 16/18 which is horrible. I don’t see how a lift and bigger tires can knock it down around 10+ mpg unless the gearing is way different
Good gawd, that is great mpg!
Can we all just take a moment and stare at that green. General Motors 2016 and 2015 Green is just so beautiful. Wow I like that color. It's a shame they don't make it anymore and it's quite rare.
Uhhh, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel got 32.7 in your guys' testing. So how is the Colorado better?
+Brandon Friesen Which test are you referring to? We only tested the Ram EcoDiesel on this highway test loop once before. It was the 2016 HFE model and we got 28.8 MPG. We did another MPG test a year ago, which was on a different highway and a much shorter distance (43 miles).
+Brandon Friesen burned
The previous Ram also was tested at 65mph. The slower you drive, the higher thw mpg. I'm still waiting for the TFL guys to do the towing test loop with the eco diesel. That hasn't been done yet.
The Fast Lane Truck Oh gotcha. I guess I was referring to that shorter test, I remember it was silver and 2WD.
+Huevo Duro702 That wasn't even a burn moment...
Would a long bed Colorado with longer wheel base get better mpg than short box with shorter wheel base?
The ram ecodiesel test you did a year ago got 33.59 mpg. How does this GMC Canyon win?
The Ecodiesel was driven at 65 mph.
Right
+lfsracer79 still it wasn't 28.8 like he said from the ecodiesel. Plus I would think a few mph difference doesn't account for the 2 mpg difference. 2mpg when doing a test is kind of a lot. Just hard for me to believe a few mph effect it that much but I could be wrong
+Jay Smith fair enough for 10 or more mph I noticed my truck does the same. Especially if I'm at 65mph (under 2k rpm) and if I go 75 (over 2k rpm). However, there was only a 5 mph difference between the tests and my argument is still I think it's unfair to call the canyon the king of mpg when the ram got 33.5 and not 28.8. I'm not even a ram fan. When ford enters this market I'll be the first in line. I'm just saying I don't think this video is all that fair
+Jay Smith no I'm not a fan of the turbos but for is expected to have an f.150 with an ecodiesel of their own within the next couple of years. So I'm looking forward to seeing how that will do. It's thought to be the same diesel that Range Rover and jaguar is already using
A Diesel engine may not be for *everyone,* I know there will always be people who would complain about the rattling noise diesel engines are known for, but as long as the hood is down, the noise shouldn't be all that bad. And I believe that those who can afford it, and either want or need a small displacement diesel engine should be allowed the option. :)
Can't wait until these come to Canada soon. I have an older Canyon with the 3.5 inline 5 cylinder that gets about 23mpg which is decent but this will be much better.
2wd with low resistance tires and that thing probably gets you 34 or 35mpg.
Noticed guys AD Blue next to the Diesel inlet...What is the usage of Ad Blue and also cost per gallon. Surely this must be included in your running costs not just how many miles per gallon you get.
4:48 The unmistakable sound of a Subaru pulling out of the station...
Excuse the inconvenience but, that Diesel engine has no efficiency or economy when you are buying a product over 1 dollar more expensive per gallon plus DEF, that if you put 30 gallons of Diesel, the cost would be 30 dollars more in the price of the product What are you buying
I am curious what the frontier with the 4 cylinder diesel will do.
same here
Love the shirt - earned my everlasting respect!
I got the same color Canyon. Beautiful color!!! Only made them for 2 years i think
People complain about the size of this truck for the money, but realize that, other than a somewhat well-equipped half-ton for the same money, no other kind of new vehicle offers all the features this truck has, along with the capability, a size that will fit most garages, car-like manners, AND fuel mileage to boot. After TTL this thing may be $50k, but you get a lot for that money, especially when you consider you don't need to add a backup camera, a trailer brake controller comes standard, as does an exhaust brake. Again, this is $45k for a maxed-out truck. Good luck getting a maxed half-ton anywhere near that price, even if it's a few years old.
Where as diesel is almost dead for passenger cars in North America, a small pickup truck with a diesel makes so much sense. The torque makes it ideal for occasional towing and when used as an everyday vehicle, gets great MPG that rivals midsize cars. Now if it only wasn't so expensive...
Trades46: keeping my VW TDI forever. I average right at 40mpg.
Yeah but you don't have 369lb-ft and no 4wd nor can you tow with it like with the canyon. So in towing and the snow the canyon wins hands down.
You're right, I have 7.3L of diesel to do that...
What did you do to your hand Nathan!?
I had one 35 mile run in my '17 Canyon diesel under admittedly perfect conditions. No traffic, no wind, flat road, cruise set at 65 mph (60-65 mph speed limit the whole way) and it returned 42.5 mpg - no kidding! My truck is a 4x4 CCLB and has the front air dam removed too.
Wind resistance rises exponentially with speed and 65 mph is the happy crossroads between where the engine wants to be as far as its efficiency and torque production goes (1,800 rpm) and wind resistance. I find in normal keeping up with traffic driving, accelerating in a way that has it upshifting at just over 2,200 and dropping back to 1,800 rpm kicks butt for fuel economy and has the truck thrusting along nicely. Not fast, but steady and with traffic no problem. Driving it this way keeps the engine right around its fat 2,000 rpm torque peak. My average highway mpg is 32.5, I have let my "B" tripmeter run from new, the average lifetime mixed driving mpg is 25.2 over 5,000 miles and it is getting more efficient with miles, as it was in the 24s awhile ago. I am not trying particularly hard to get good mileage either, generally taking off briskly on that satisfying wave of torque from a stop and then cruising efficiently.
Love my Canyon!
Craig that is excellent fuel economy! Do you still have your Canyon and if so how do you like it? Any maintenance/reliability issues?
@@zachl6918 Still running great! No issues. It is important to feed any modern diesel a good lubricant/cleaning fuel additive as American diesel fuel kinda sucks. Do that and they can run a long time. The "high pressure common rail" system on any modern diesel needs fuel additive to live a long and healthy life. There are people on the forums who have had their injectors fail, which can cause expensive engine damage. Being a bit of a nut, I run plenty of lube/cleaning additive, and during COVID lockdown I was bored and fabricated up a mounting system and added a 2 micron Racor marine water separator and fuel filter after the stock filter box. My truck's high pressure fuel pump and injectors see nothing but clean and lube enhanced fuel. Adding the 2 micron filter is overkill, but I am an overkill kinda guy - LOL
At this point my truck is averaging 27.5K MPG over the last 50K miles since adding a Green Diesel Engineering tune. 34 MPG is pretty common on the open road now that it is tuned and broken in. Out on the open road with 440 pound feed of torque (in tuned form) at 2K RPM, once it hits 6th gear the transmission is done shifting until I slow down. It is so effortless on the open road. Cruising at 80 MPH for hours from CO to ID on a long trip in I-80 (80 MPH limit) was a pleasure. Gotta set the cruise, or one can find themselves going 90 plus. The diesel is quiet and with all that fat effortless torque, it just inhales the road with an economy of RPM. If mostly city driving and especially if a lot of shorter trips are involved, I would go with the snappy free revving gas engine and it's 8 speed transmission (diesel has 6 speeds). I love the diesel vibe in a midsize truck and it is outstanding when used in it's highway "sweet spot" a lot, as I tend to do. The diesel does require more owner involvement though, particularly with the fuel additive.
GM is reportedly going to discontinue the diesel, the next revision of the trucks will offer the 2.7L turbo gas engine with a 10 speed transmission. That should be a fantastic powertrain. The 2.7 is currently being offered as a option in the full size trucks, I think it belongs in the Colorado/Canyon. As for my diesel, I hope to get serious mileage out of it, so it can eventually become an old man in a clean high mileage truck situation ;)
@@craighoffman8160 Thank you for the quick and detailed response. I'm interested in a mid size truck and I've been researching them. I just read where GM is reportedly going to do a full update for the 2023 model year for the Colorado and Canyon which I think is much needed for the interior, but they're only going to offer 1 engine choice, the 2.7L which means the 3.5L and the diesel will no longer be available. I'm bummed about that.
@@zachl6918 Don't be buimmed, the 2.7 turbo is gonna be a nice improvement over the 3.6L V6. The V6 is a revvy engine, the 2.7 was designed as a truck engine, with way more bottom end power, which will be nice for towing
The 2.8 diesel will always be the towing king for these trucks though.
@@craighoffman8160 True, I agree the 2.7L is better than the 3.5L however I wish that they would still offer the diesel. But at least they're still going to offer an ICE in the times when there's (unfortunately) so much push for EV's. As someone who drives a lot in rural areas an EV will never work unless they can nearly double their range and recharge in 10 minutes.
I'm glad somebody is building a compact diesel p/u. I had hoped some years ago that Mahindra would bring their truck to the US, but that fell through.
Was this the high-level trim option mentioned? The interior looks bad for an 80s truck. Certainly my '87 Mitsubishi SPX has a better interior finish. What's more, it had the 2.6L four-banger balance-shaft engine. Any info on how they deal with the shake and roll on this 2.8L behemoth?
Also, for the record, my 2015 Ecodiesel is getting about 25.7 mpg commuting. My best was 32.9 mpg when I first took it on a long trip. Chevy needs to put an 8-speed transmission on their rig.
Any follow up? How about the 2021?
Thanks again but I'm waiting patiently for the f250 diesel Ike gauntlet, I believe you started a video but never finished.
just a heads up, different levels of fuel in the truck can affect when the gas pump clicks off. You're much better off reading the truck value 31.4 mpg
I would love if TFLT to get their hands on a VW Amarok and get it tested. I saw one up here in Canada with Mexico plates. if there is ANY way to get your hands on one please try! I would love to see how it competes with American trucks
Why the vi rating stearingwheel?
Please do with the Honda Ridgeline. Would like to see how it compares.
I gotta say, I'm impressed with this truck. It'll be interesting to see what Nissan can bring and how Ford will react when they start producing the Ranger again.
I got a 15 sierra but was debating with this one too , good decision or should I have gone with this little duramax canyon?
Toni _ should've gone with the little duramax. easy for parking and all that's why i'm going to get it
Jeffrey Horton crap! lol
Currently have a 2020 trail boss 5.3, and I average 14.5-15.5. And get 19 on trips. I wish I would have got the 3.0 but would love ether Colorado diesel. Just concerned with 2 kids and the wife, we won’t like the difference in cabin size from my 1500 to the Colorado
What type tires does it have
Did you guys do the 2017 Ridgeline on this loop?
Unbelievable! A truck doing 31 MPG??? I can't get that out of my car is I roll downhill with my engine off!! :-)
Nice "Rush" shirt Nathan.
Why don't you ever test the super duty's?
So is a half ton truck still what it will carry in the bed or the body size?
+Greg O'Brien Now it's more about the body size and a truck's payload in relation to the "3/4 ton" and "1 ton" models. They carry quite a bit more than 1000 lbs or 1/2 ton now.
+Greg O'Brien Calling trucks half tons or 3/4 tons is a carry over from back when that was the actual payload capacity. These days they're used more like classes.
+Greg O'Brien With about 1500 lbs payload this truck is actually a 3/4 ton. The Ram ecodiesel goes down as low as 1000 lbs payload so you can get a 1/2 ton if you want... lol.
+Todd Wilson thanks for the replies, id be tempted to import an eco diesel to here but id probably overload the bed, is the back suspension more for comfort than payload then?
Greg O'Brien The Ecodiesel is in fact built more for comfort and fuel efficiency. Also they did not add much capacity when they added the heavier diesel powertrain (compared to the gas models).
How much payload do you expect to carry?
sucks the Duramax Diesel is only in the 4Door,
I don't Need the Bed space, but I know some people do.
Ram Eco Diesel is like $10k cheaper, and get s about the same MPG .......... and come in 8' Bed .....
Too bad the 3.0 liter in the Ram sucks
huntnm Lol ?
+huntnm why do I think that
+Sartaj Aujla u
+Zraupp10 the ram is more than the duramax stupid!
Incredible mpg's, similar to my Chevy Cavalier compact fwd car.
I'd like to see this exact test but with a 4x4 3.6 gas Canyon/Colorado...do you have plans to run that?
+bkpugsley
That would be a good mashup. Gas vs diesel mpg and price comparison. I think the gas version only gets about 20 or so mpg so with a diesel you'd be getting an extra 10 mpg. On the toyota forums the new taco people are reporting an average of 21mpg with the v6.
+leadnsteel Yeah I would love to see it...I was thinking 22-24mpg for gas. I only drive my truck about 3500 miles a year up to 5000 miles max if that...so I think a gas model is what I need but I really want to see more testing on it first.
That is awesome!! Now only if they can put a diesel in the Sierra 1500 because I don't wanna get the RAM eco diesel.
I think ram did a good job of the performance vs fuel economy on the 1500 diesel but I don't truck the rams reliability at all. If chevy goes the Titan route I am not interested but if they have similar performance as the ram I would be looking at it. titan is too expensive and not efficient what so ever, probably quite good reliability though.
+larry Spiller yes RAM did good with performance of that eco diesel and fuel economy, but as u said just don't trust that brand to invest that kind of money, and the Titan definitely cost to much, might as well get the Sierra 2500 with the 6.6! hopefully GM follows suit with a smaller diesel like RAM.
Yeah no kidding, not to mention where I live at least, the economy crashed and people are returning their trucks to the dealerships. Equivalently optioned rams vs gms are just crazy when it comes to resale. Gm and Ford are the highest but ram is often 10k or more less compared to the same year
+larry Spiller I believe it, the GMs and Fords hold there resale value to a Tee, I could have sworn I saw an F150 with a diesel spied on, don't think it was on this TH-cam channel but if definitely was a 2016-17 f150 with a diesel in it. I know Gmc is usually a little late to the game with this stuff but they better get there act together if they wanna complete with ford.
+Brandon Grogan everything I have read has said the diesel f150 will be sold next year as a 2018 model, that's when they will also get the 2nd generation 3.5 ecoboost and 10 speed tran
I do want a new, smaller 4x4 pickup with a diesel engine. But no way would I spend that much on little truck..
+Hiluxtaco get a diesel Colorado and see how much that'll cost you
+guy proulx At least he can get a diesel with GM. The fuel savings will be awesome.
***** yeah but can he get a manual in the v-6 like the Taco????? how about a push button start, yeah that's what i thought lmao
guy proulx Chevy has remote start. Way better than push button start. You can start a chevy from your living room in cold weather and it'll be warm when you go out to the truck. Or in hot weather and it wont be a oven when you get in. REAL benefits to that feature. What's the benefit of push button start? Being lazy and not wanting to turn a key lmao. And what do you need a manual for? The autos these days are way more capable and less maintenance.
Dale Couture you must be one that can't drive a manual like most younger people these days, so you think an auto tranny is better at off roading?? personally i hate push button start, Toyota started this trend to please the american buyers, most Americans keep crying about Toyota for not being innovative so they added push button start to keep them quiet for a while lol, i'm sure that if it was only about Toyota in other countries they would have never added push button start in their trucks and they only would have put it in their luxury cars like Lexus for instance, Toyota isn't known for fixing things that aren't broken and this is the reason they are always on top in past to present reliability ratings
Everyone is crying about price but it will hold it's value and will keep all your money as far as trade value plus year end saving's and bonus tag and 0 percent financing I've seen 10,500 off one so for 34k that truck is perfect!
Cool RUSH t shirt!
Chrysler used that same engine and an earlier form at 2.4 L and it put out about 180 horsepower and over 300 ft pounds of torque but I don't remember the exact numbers. The minivans that they put it into in the Dodge Caravans in Australia we're getting 50 miles per gallon on the expressway if you were the single occupant. With seven people in it it would still travel 730 plus miles before you had to refill the 20 gallon fuel tank.
Add about three to four more pounds of air pressure into the tires, 36 to 38 lb would be good, and possibly get you up to 10% better fuel mileage. And that truck also has probably the worst grill for fuel mileage that they made.
what axle does this pickup have?
Too short, I was hoping to see a little more of that truck
+Martyr104 i agree.
You should do a jeep wrangler towing/ike gauntlet review!
You guys forgot to mention the results of the Ram 1500 eco diesel. =(
no they didn't
why do you guys not test any trucks with manual transmissions??
only available with the gas 4cyl in extended cab with this truck
+Small_Block only Toyota Tacoma offers manual on most trims if not all
+guy proulx I'm talking about trucks in general. Like dodge offer their rams still woth a manual when paired with the diesle, toyota offers a manual in the tacomas and chevy offers it in the colorado but yes only with a 4cyl but still would be nice to see the manual transmission truck segment tested too
+Small_Block I also don't think they have as much say in it. they ask the dealer or mfr for a test truck and they get what they get.
Small_Block i was only considering trucks the mid size truck segment
It's definitely a good truck. If I was to spend the money to get a new midsize pickup, I would absolutely consider this. Although, if we're being realistic, I'd probably just get a used Jeep Comanche or Ford Ranger.
Manageable small travel trailer hauler (Lance 2295, etc.). Sweet!
I get 15mpg on my 2006 f150 fx4 on 20x12 wheels 32" mud tire's, I didn't get a truck to get good mpgs.
This GMC canyon can still be improved in terms of hp and torque in S.E. asian countries this engine is available for the chevy colorado it is a Duramax engine with 2.8L so the current GMC canyon engine can be improved by around 200hp with 500nm of torque cause that's what we get with the 2016 Chevy Colorado...
If only I could afford one
the crew cab long bed 2 wheel is only $39000 same trim level
I'm being offered a new 2016 SLE 4x2 model with the turbo diesel for 28k out the door. Yay or nay?
This GMC is an absolute grand slam (excepting the MSRP, perhaps). Good job, GM!
yeah wish the price was a lil bit lower, the price is the only thing holding me back.
I could buy a damn 3/4 ton for that much
+b3877896 The price i got mine for was about $35,800 FYI. I got about $2k off thanks to truecar. MSRP as configured was $37,925. This is all before taxes and fees and stuff. And it was a special order.
So yeah, it can be had for under $40k.
+Jay Smith yeah that makes more sense then 45,000 for a midsize truck
+Jay Smith I would have taken that shit off by now
That is not a small truck. 2WD, the right axle ratio, some decent LRR tires and you can get some serious MPG.
exactly I got 35 mpg on my chevy colorado 2wd the other day on a 125 mile loop from la to fontana ca couldn't be happier. with the truck
Its pretty cool if these clean diesels are actually clean.
Does he wear a Rush shirt every in every video? haha keep it up
Love that color.
2WD OR 4?
Hahaha! Daihatsu Charade. My mom drove one of those when I was in highschool.
4x2 version of this truck wouls save about $3,000 and improve economy another 1mpg ($41,000). Still, 40+ g's for a small truck is just too much.
How much fuel is wasted just testing MPG? Oil is finite.
Bare minimum for the diesel engine, 2WD, shortbox is $36,520 SLE trim. 4WD makes it $40,435 from GMC's site. Still a lot, but GM knows diesel fan boys will pay it.
I was waiting for the results then i heard a subaru and got distracted lol
Wish they would offer the little Duramax in a base work truck model of this truck. why...why.. do they make you buy an expensive truck to then "save money" insane.
It has a 21 gallon fuel tank, meaning it can go 657.3 miles on one tank of diesel
For $44,000, this truck should end world hunger too!
+Hiluxtaco 44k? whoa...... That is fucking insane. In fact that's insane for any pickup. Just because you can make the payment for 7 years does not mean you can afford it.
+Dave S What happened to buying a new 4wd truck for around $20,000 (or less)??! It seems like everything is North of $30K!
Hiluxtaco you look on Internet 35-38k 4wd canyon diesel you can find them. Not bad actually . That's the top of the line 44k is sticker you won't pay that though. I'm curious of reliability of the engine !!!!!
They need to put this engine on a work truck… this is a luxury truck.
It is nice but I rather get a full size for that price. Nice though would love to have it.
The price is crazy.
You two look like you are sitting really close together. Is this truck have enough room? seems claustrophobic in there.
Jeez the new 1500 3liter gets 34!
Wow that pretty good for mid size truck. but at $44,000 is a lot. mind as well get a Chevy Silverado for that price. still get 21 mpg on highway
