- In the last couple years of my reselling career I've made TONS of mistakes. In this video I thought I'd share some of my mis-steps and what you can do to correct them if you are finding yourself in a similar spot!

You are on point on focusing on just a few categories. When I started I was buying anything and everything. But my expertise was video games and toys, so once I focused on those I was able to scale and go full time for real.

I felt it in my soul when you mentioned messing up shipping dimensions. I have a smaller scale, and my weights are always off when I ship larger packages. I've pretty well figured it out, but I've lost probably $200 fixing shipping errors that were my fault

Really like this video, I needed to hear number 9 and 10. I only started 3 months ago and while I did well, I joined a local group and FB and got really discouraged about the huge lots they were finding... after awhile I realized these guys have been at it for years. Also I did very well, at least in my eyes in my first couple months, but did end up spending almost all of my profits. While I am only doing this as a side hustle for fun, I can see how crucial that would be if this was my career instead.
Yeah that’s huge, having the extra time to invest makes a big difference for outcomes!

Great video with a lot of good tips. You may need to temper your expectations on your computer though. If you make it 5 years you did good. Also, invest in a data backup solution. Whatever can go wrong will go wrong at some point so do what you can now to make those moments less stressful later.

so true I miss up on my dimensions all the time. The real hero is Canada post I get refunds to my credit card for over dimensions, they even will charge extra if I'm under.

Great tips for reselling, I do part time and focusing on my channel for now. I enjoy the educational segments from my subscribed channels. Puts you in the minds of the creator and is very informative. But live video game hunts will always be #1 😃. Great video.

I don't think I can ever get serious about resale where I live right now, because basically, the thrift stores nearby just don't have any games, and there just aren't any other places to go, we don't have any pawn shops, or small independent game stores like GameXChange or anything like that, and we don't have Facebook Marketplace available in my region, the closest thing we have is that there are some Facebook groups that have formed to sell and buy stuff, but all the gaming related ones are highly specific and filled with resellers that know what everything is worth, so there isn't any money to gain there... Heck we don't even have GameStop here anymore, because they went bankrupt which really sucks because I liked GameStop... but even when they were here, they didn't have much business in the used game stuff, only like used games that just came out and were played through once and then turned back in. I have sold some stuff, only really 2 games, Minecraft for Xbox 360 and Dance Dance Supernova I think, for PS2, but I haven't gotten much traffic... I'm not gonna do this much seriously, but I'll still pick up and list some stuff here and there

I'm glad you still do the tutorial style...i mean don't overdo it if it doesn't make money...as you say the value to time spent...but do do them as a courtesy to us and those who are inspired by you.

I’m pretty sure I’ve done all of these. My biggest error is always shipping. I do feel like I am getting better. I just sold a vintage Barbie toy car and I was afraid I was going to close on shipping, but actually hit it on the head. I think newer sellers may want to prepackaged large heavier items so they can input exact weight and dimensions. I feel I make mistakes because I don’t account for the packing supplies accurately.

New to your Channel! I do have a question do you find it harder to resale gaming items with Retro making a come back? Meaning everyone seems to be becoming a collector seller? I've noticed this alot when going to local pawns finding games from a couple dollars to Stright up Ebay prices now.
Yeah sourcing can be tough, but selling on Amazon helps a lot, and I try to show how I find deals on my channel!

I started using a Quality Control Check List for my ebay listings, shiping info has a "check box" and when done properly works 9/10 times i learned this from a factory I was working at full time. I call it a Job ticket, i can fit 14 listings on one page, and it covers all areas that are easy to over look while listing. Most IMPORTANT, each inventroy area i have has a colored lable dot, that i grab once I file the item into inventory, the label goes on the bottom of the QC sheet/job ticket, this is a fool proof way to notate inventory and not loose anything, with 1000 items , it can get crazy- these sheets are a life saver

#11 don't try to rush through listing and packing orders. I have done this a few times and had mistakes in the listings or accidentally sent wrong items to customer.

I never have a death pile. Unless I am needing packaging for something. My rule is to never have any unlisted inventory.
