Fantastic effort and beautiful scenery. Flappy gilet, fatigued legs, weather closing in in the middle and still an unreal time up there - really impressive! Nice to have the parental support too, very generous. I have to admit to having made the embarrassing phone call to my parents at least a couple of times since I turned 30, maybe I'll never out grow it 😂

I made sure to get in all the excuses! Thanks very much although practically flat compared to Afonwen Mast, now that was a proper effort!! Can't count the number of times I've been rescued, glad to know it's not just me...I think they're worried I won't either 🤣

Basically a volcanic tempo turbo trainer of a climb - but mesmerising geology - and on a good day beautiful views up and down

Best description of it, it really did feel like pedalling through a long (scenic) turbo effort! Think I still had much warmer conditions than your ascent 🥶

Love the awkward jokes, reminds me of Aubrey Plaza. :)

UCI now officialy recognizes new climb category : "Slice of Cheese (SC)" (5-6% with little to no variation of gradient) 7:05 Next time i'll get you some waterproof ones ahahah :D Definitely taking my winter gear for Lanzarote's 70.3, no way i'm riding in a trisuit if the conditions get this grim ! 6°C in shorts whaaaaat, you Wales people are built different

Hahaha as long as there isn't any moldy green ;) Nahh Lanzarote will be toasty, just don't go off course up a mountain! Then again triathlons tend to start crazy early don't they...
