Awesome! I have been looking for a simple DIY solution and this is perfect! and I have two of those saw-horses from an old desk! Thanks for the inspiration!!
You can get a white fleece blanket and your clothes will stick and not slide down. Get a grey one for all your white clothes, that works great too. Thanks for the video! Great info!!
Architect tables are also adjustable and you wont need a separate board! They are usually pretty large surfaces too. Ive seen then st thrift stores amd estate sales for pretty cheap and it doubles as a desk. Also drafting tables! I see them on buy sale all the time for less then 50 dollars
You my friend are a lifesaver! As soon as I saw your comment I ran straight to Facebook marketplace and looked for an architect table! Found one for $15!❤❤❤
Hi . You guys were awesome and answered everything I was trying to figure out as far as taking flat lay photos and the whole setup. Thank you so much gor this video.
This was very helpful! I've been trying to take flat lay photos on the floor, but I dread photo days because I have a bum L5/S1 disc that goes nuts with all the reaching and bending and leaning over. It seems silly, but it never occurred to me to use an angle. My brain said it was either hanging the clothes or putting them on the floor, that's it. This is a game changer.
Wow!! that was great. Good technique. Do not have to use Photoshop at all!! That will save lot of time and effort. Thanks for the video. Really appreciate it.
Not sure if y'all do this but for white or lighter shirts/pants use a black background. I'm tired of using a mannequin because it takes so long so I might try this technique. Thanks for sharing.
Hey just wanted to say great video! First time on your alls channel loved it! The tips for helping back pain is a blessing haha. I still do photos on the floor and im 6'5 so the up and down is a killer. Keep up the good work.
Your setup is brilliant! I have been begging my husband for over a year to bring home some pallets so I could do an old R Roots setup but yours is so much easier and love the pool noodle idea at the bottom. The tilt is where it's at tho honestly fabulous set up I think you guys nailed it.
Love this! Thank you! How do you guys do jeans on this? Do they fit? Jeans are my hardest..im a transplant patient with arthritis and my back is killing and I can't get the color right on jeans
My husband just ordered the supplies to make me a drop leaf kind of back saver set up for flat lay items. I can’t wait to see how it turns out and I’ll definitely do a video if it works great.
I love that!! Now that we are redoing our office, we had a similar idea for inside our closet!! I can't wait to see how yours turns out! Ill make sure my notifications are on!
Great video! Just about to do my new photo area setup and this is now a must. Bummed no Ebay Open this year...met you briefly last year and could just feel the positive vibe. Keep rockin’ it guys!
Hey David! How did your photo area turn out? We are currently redoing our space too and might have a new layout video soon! Super bummed about Ebay open but there is always next year! (fingers crossed🤞🏼) Positive vibes always!✨
Hey, so just a quick question you never mentioned the white background what do you use? Do you use a sheet? Do you use a piece of plastic? What what is that material?
Hey! Sorry for the late reply! Yes most jeans do fit! If they are to big we fold them and take a photo with them folded. If you would like you can check out our store on eBay for more of an idea. e_vendibles Thanks!
Hey there! We bought a large wall panel from Lowes that was 8ft by 4ft. We had them cut the board in half to make two 4x4ft boards. Most of our large items fit great on the board with little folding but I found that if I stood on a riser for items that barely fit, I could capture the whole image much better. Hope that works!
What a nifty setup! I've been looking for a good lighting setup, unfortunately your link goes to a seller who doesn't post to Australia so you won't get 2% of the sale. I can get one here, so thanks for the review :)
i use two softbox lights and an iphone xs camera on a gret/white background but i keep getting that 'dingey yellow' warm colour on my photos that you mentioned, whats the best way to stop this?
Hi there! Great video and lots of great tips. I have a question. What is that sheet you use to cover the palette? Is it just a regular flat bed sheet? Thanks!
So sorry for the late response! We used a shiny-ish white fabric from Joanns fabric store. I thought being able to wash it would be great but I found that holding it down so that there were no shadows proved to be difficult at times. We are redoing the office and I think I will try either painting the board or using a wallpaper type. Let us know what works out best for you!
I am doing a similar setup but trying to figure out how big my board is I need to cut at Lowe’s? How big is your fabric from Joanns? I really appreciate this bc I am just starting. Is tote fabric cotton or?
Hi how do you get your collars and creases that stiff and flat. Do you spray starch and iron or do you steam? I’ve been steaming and my clothes never come out looking like yours. Great video😁 Keep up the good work😀
Thank you so much for the support! We do about 90% of our pics on flat lay and only use the hanging or mannequin method on items that are longer than our board. Our board is currently 4ft x 4ft but sometimes dresses and pants can be longer in which case we do switch over.
We got the Neewer 2 Pack Dimmable LED lights- amzn.to/36yE1dA We like that they don't get hot and can change from soft white to daylight. Only light I think we will add is an "O" light to place maybe directly above or infront of. This set up works great but some nights when working late, I find one more light could make my images that much better. Hope that helps and sorry for such a late response!

I always wonder how to lay long sleeve shirts and pants. That would be good to add
Not sure if y'all do this but for white or lighter shirts/pants use a black background. I'm tired of using a mannequin because it takes so long so I might try this technique. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks guys and it's very helpful.

Drill a hole in the end of the pin and attach a string to it. That way it can't easily get lost or carried away.
LOVE THE SOCKS 😉!!!!

ThriftingNomads it didn’t turn out perfect or drop flush to the wall like we hoped but it’s definitely functional and will help
That's good! We will have to see how ours turns out too then! As long as it works, it's a win in our book!
Great video! Just about to do my new photo area setup and this is now a must. Bummed no Ebay Open this year...met you briefly last year and could just feel the positive vibe. Keep rockin’ it guys!

Hi guys great video! what are the dimensions of the pallette you're using? is it big enough for large jackets etc.
Hey there! We bought a large wall panel from Lowes that was 8ft by 4ft. We had them cut the board in half to make two 4x4ft boards. What size did you guys cut your board in? Unfortunately ikea is out of stock online but it would cost over $100 to ship so I’m making my own.
Hi how do you get your collars and creases that stiff and flat. Do you spray starch and iron or do you steam? I’ve been steaming and my clothes never come out looking like yours. Great video😁 Keep up the good work😀
Sorry for the delay yes some times we iron or just use tape
Tyvm! U rock God bless
Thank YOU very much for your love and support! God bless you and your family as well 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
hey how do you attach the palette to the trestle?
Thankssss
Is that just a basic white sheet?
What about the shadow?
Hello new and late to this channel lol. Do you guys still post?
Awesome vid. Do you do all flat lays or do you hang some items? Just found/stumbled upon your channel. New sub.
Thank you so much for the support! We do about 90% of our pics on flat lay and only use the hanging or mannequin method on items that are longer than our board. Our board is currently 4ft x 4ft but sometimes dresses and pants can be longer in which case we do switch over.
Wouldnt a murphys desk eork?
Where’d you get the lights? Price?
We got the Neewer 2 Pack Dimmable LED lights- amzn.to/36yE1dA

Can you do pants on that platform?
See Crystal Areal’s video for standing flat lay setup
Thanks for the advice, there is always room for improvement but so far our flat lay has worked great for us and many others 🙌🏻🙌🏻 have a blessed day 💓💓

I didn’t know this was a documentary on your journey to finding how to flat lay..👎🏽
Thanks for watching
