- This stupid tourist chose to go up to the horse for a picture… but when the horse suddenly bit her she got very annoyed at the horse despite their being a warning sign about horses biting! What a silly tourist!

No protests in that place. People read the sign. keep your children away from the horse. One of the reasons that I think the horses bite is because too many tourists are bothering them.

I guess I was brought up to respect boundaries. What happened to asking may i take a picture of you and your mount? or may i get a picture of you and your mount with myself? I find what they are doing so disrespectful and the poor horse puts up with so much BS.

In the USA we are taught from very young to ask the owner if we can approach an animal. Ask if we can pet. We are use to seeing working or service animals amongst us. Most of us know or assume the royal horses are highly trained working animals just like we have in our big cities. They are not pets. They should not be disturb while on duty. I wish people would do their homework before they travel to learn the etiquette of the country they are visiting. I wish your tour guides would educate their group how to behave at the locations they are visiting.

The horses have to get used to the crowd.......they are on parade in LONDON and should be ready for any kind of instructions etc .... some tourists bring a snack and the horses are smelling each person..... Don't make out these magnificent animals are stupid or enjoy boredom!!!

There is a lovely place down in one of the southern counties called Haremere Hall and they breed and show english working horses there. You are not allowed to touch the horses at all.And that is how it should be here at horseguards.

Interesting how the horses don't seem to bite the kids or babies too much - truly thoughtful animals who have a tough job too as it's quite unnatural for them to stand still for so long - they're probably fed up & want to be left alone. 🤔

Many of the guards have never been close to a horse, let alone sat on one. They have an intensive training course.

Somebody should be there supervising and ensuring the safety of the public. The Police on patrol do a mediocre job and only become involved when matters esculate and become obviously serious to them. Isn't it better to deal with matters before they happen rather than wait for an event to happen then take action.

I enjoy watching the left hand of the guard. He knows how to make the horse bite and not bite. People are stupid to go and watch that operation which is just for making money for
the retailers in the area. The king is rarely there or in need of guarding. If anyone wanted
him gone, they have people for that too. If people stopped gawking there would be no guards or horses. Just little plaques and left over back packs. History.

On case you have no knowledge, this is a Working Barracks with real-life soldiers. It is the foolish tourists who treat it like Disneyland.
There are very few if any retailers in that street at all and this Ceremonial Guard has been in place for over 150 years. It is a historical military site still in use, so why be so bitter about it
