    Tip : add half a teaspoon of instant coffee mix to it.. really brings out the flavours

      yup it should work too.. just adjust according to your taste. It's pretty safe. Let the caramel cool off a little so u can taste it at least, and then add the coffee while it's hot and mix.. :)

    When I make my caramel sauce, I usually at the butter at the end so that. A) I don't risk burning the butter, B) It gives the caramel sauce a nice sheen to it.

    this is a foolproof recipe! cozzzz it is easier to be made! i believe most of us, have failed so many times making caramel sauce especially during the caramalization process… ive burned my sugar for so many times, and ended up giving up making it!

    Last time I made caramel, I put a finger to the spoon and licked it to taste! Oh my goodness.. My finger and roof of my mouth instantly blistered! Don't do it people! It tastes better once you let it cool 😅 Thanks for the tip Laura. Also thanks for giving us a solution if it's over boiled or cooked. Found your channel a few weeks ago, and I'm obsessed. Love your recipes! Made your pumpkin bread recipe and swapped the flour for a gluten free baking flour mix. Divine 👌🏼

    To my knowledge, caramel is made with granulated sugar. And butterscotch is made with brown sugar. So this was different

      it's caramel because of the cream. most toppings like fudge caramel and butterscotch all begin with sugar, so there's probably another ingredient added to the sugar to make butterscotch

      I accidenently used coffee extract in mine, as the bottle is identical to the vanilla..I picked up the wrong one. Still, it's very nice. :) x

    OMG! What an easy recipe to follow. I have tried a lot of other method but I either burn it or it crystallises once I add in the cream. Your method seems fool proof, i can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing :)

    I never thought that this caramel sauce could be made easier . Other instruction was that you should melt the sugar first before you put in the butter.

    Breyers came out with a salted carmel ice cream and I was sooo excited to try but it actually tastes like butterscotch. Turns out brown sugar is what make butterscotch and white sugar makes caramel. This recipe looks good but now I'm afraid that its going to taste more like butterscotch.

      drizzled over apples, pancakes, bread/cake like pumpkin or bread pudding, you can make caramel frosting. I made a caramel apple pie (just cooked apples in the caramel for a few minutes b4 filling pie shell, i did let it cool slightly)

      no, it won't 😊 you just need to add a little amount maybe one teaspoon just so the caramel sauce doesn't get burn easily..at the end the water will evaporate too..so it won't affect the sweet taste too much..hope it help!

      LeAnne Hurline No. from what I've seen you have to use baking soda to fluff the caramel. Maybe wrong, I haven't tried it yet 😉
