I bought a new Mack in 2004. I love custom trucks. My friends kept telling me putting chrome on a Mack was like putting lipstick on a pig. Then the dog joke. You just have one A- Hole looking at another A-Hole. Great truck, but not as good as the 258 in wb COE Pete I replaced her with. Nice looking truck, enjoy it.
Mack Dealership’s. Typically they don’t have parts inventory space. They have to order parts. Many Mack dealerships are small, more like satellite dealerships. Mack has dump trucks, trash trucks, day cabs, sleepers and several other specialty trucks to repair. You see a significant amount of complete tear down in the shops. Trans, Motors, rear ends etc etc again waiting on parts from the Mack distribution centers. Distribution centers are sometimes out of stock, calling other distribution centers. There are only a few nation wide. The drivers seat..?? Buy your own, some drivers do replace OEM seats. The pillar/ Mirror?? It’s the same on my Cascadia, blind spots. My mirrors and pillars are all in one visibility, which is worse than what you have. Buying Mack stuff, save your money, go to Walmart..😀 Get Chinese floor mats instead of Mexican floor mats..🤗 Buy a KW hat.😀 Stay away from the Chrome and Chicken lights, Chrome doesn’t make you any money, it cost you money taking care of it. 😎 How do you like that stereo speaker screaming in your left ear..???🤬😡 With all that stuff on your windshield and dash you cannot use Sun shads..😳🙄
@@ridingwithkev5560 I personally understand the half deaf situation, I am 72 years old. When I use to have my Mack’s I put my own stereo system in, head unit and speakers in custom made speaker cabinets because of that overhead Mack speaker. 😡 I listen to music from around the World all day while driving my truck from my phone, yes still driving OTR at 72 years old. 👍❤️ I use the OEM stereo system in my Cascadia. 👍 Many trucks have their good and not so good aspects for drivers, especially for company drivers like me. Personally I prefer the Freightliner’s, historically more dependable for me personally than the experience’s we had with our Pete’s, KW’s, International’s, Mack’s we have and had over the years here. I had the option of a brand new Pete if I wanted it. Overall that Mack truck you have is a very good truck, very solidly built, well insulated throughout, comfortable riding, a lot of good points to your Mack. 👍 As far as OEM Mack parts and the dealership’s, you just have to put up with it. I know from my experience with my Mack’s in the past. I still remember that day a Mercedes’ Benz driver took his car to a Sears service center for repair...😀😀😀😀😀 Everyone had a good laugh.

Hiya Kev, love your videos, am a long distance truck for Ireland, big fan of mack truck, but sadly no macks in Europe at moment!!, I drive a scania truck, its a v8 engine!!!, 620hp at back axle, we love big power in Ireland, anyway, keep safe and god bless 🙏
You welcome Kevin, love trucks in da USA, especially mack, being in da USA fairly often, well am irish and have lots of relations all over the States, especially in jacksonville florda, they call me the irish redneck!! Lol,don't think your snake like me very much over there, had a run inn with a cotton mouth, and a diamond back, out in South carolina!!, but I love it over there, thanks for replying to text, god speed 🙏
I have always been interested in learning what other drivers do with their trucks, cool tips and tricks they use or have over the decades. This was a first for me. A driver that post TH-cam Shorts has a baby car seat he uses on his driver seat. 😳😀 He has trouble seeing over the dash the way he wants. 😳 Seems to work great for him, he has a memory form seat cushion for it. 👍 He either has a Pete or KW, basically the same today 😀 PACCAR branding. When we use to run Cabovers we had to be inventive. Not much room in the way of interior design, space or comfort. Some took the passenger seat out for more storage space. City road maps piled high on the dashboard’s wasn’t uncommon in COE’s. I drove numerous trucks back then, no power steering. AM radio. Steel Springs, had to be careful getting in and out, if you fall it’s a long way down. 😀 I don’t miss the COE’s. What I do miss is all the Mom and Pop truck stops back then. Some of those truck stops, today’s drivers would not even want to drive their front wheel onto the property 😀 The greasy spoon restaurant’s 👍😎 ❤️❤️
I Agree I own a 2019 Anthem when from 2013 780 with all the spec needed after 1 million + miles. Wanted a new truck so a $ 135k Mack and after 3 years it was not a wise decision. The price and looks made my decision but I realized the poor quality vs 780 Volvo which became the 860 and price. A difference of 40k between the two during the 2020 purchase..I'm glad this is my last purchase..I info Mack on my disappointed from small refrigerator to cheap leather and plastic trim and a few mechanical issues. I tell drivers not to purchase the Anthem the look get you but quality control is lacking.. Be safe a concern Veteran USAF WSMR.
But if Volvo is reliable what’s it matter, all the manufacturers are all together it seems. At work most of the roll offs are granites and most the front loads are Mack’s, a lot have 25000 or more hrs, one truck had 34000 hrs and 1.3million Kilometres of city roll off work so that’s pretty strong I would say.
Man those mirrors are a pain! You really have to triple check for oncoming traffic. Had a few close calls myself. I hate how far I have to turn my head to check traffic and change lanes

After 9 years of Marine Corps helicopters and 30 years of hunting I’m half deaf so the speaker is a blessing 😂

I don't use the front curtains unless it's super hot, takes too much time for me, I don't like waking up having to deal with curtains.
It came to that at the end. They were a hassle.

Very valid.
Yep, I agree ☝️ with that too!!
Mack should make their own powertrain. The MP8 and the mDrive transmission are Volvo.
I believe the new rear end (which I don’t have) is their design. That’s why I don’t have a gold bulldog

Yeah 1 close call but I’m sure people think I’m dancing in the cab trying to see 😂
Wow that’s a mighty fine Prime 579 parked next to ya. Wonder who’s that is. LOL. Great video Kev!
Not what the owner told me 😂
@@ridingwithkev5560 👀👀 🤣
You look in your mirrors when you change lanes? Huh, I'll try that out.
Mirrors being too far back is one of my dislikes on my IH. But I can find plenty of IH caps! Lol
😂
Can you lower the volume on your intro - way to loud compared to the rest of the vids audio - blows out my headphones every time.
Working on it. I just started using a new video editing software and I noticed it’s louder but apparently failed to fix it this time.
Let me guess. U went in McDonald's and couldn't even get a big mack
Only because they’re free in the app 😂
