I just ran power only for all of 2023. Schneider made me the most money. Get a trailer and keep it. If you keep it 48 hours without running a load, they won't say anything. Getting trailers and dropping them off can take you 100 miles out if your way so, again, I suggest not going Bobtail until you're ready to get the flatbed.
I did the same thing with JB Hunt until I bought my own trailer. As long as you were moving, they had no concern. It was only when I parked that trailer for 2 days...then they would call and ask me to drop the trailer at a nearby Walmart DC.
I’m running leased on to Prime with a 2019 freightliner but from what I’ve read I’ll be required to retire this truck or change to another carrier by years end 2025. Prime is part CDL school, part carrier, part broker and part truck dealership. They rely upon all of these parts working in harmony. If things get out of balance they take steps to bring everything back to equilibrium. From what I’ve learned in my 3 years trucking is that there’s no way to establish a pattern, freight is good then bad. I run flatbed and my revenue is the same in July as it is in February. There’s no rhyme or reason to anything, the only thing that matters is that I keep running consistently3k-3500 miles/week.
Peterbilt579_ if I wanted to go to another carrier or get my own authority and run prime freight. But prime doesn’t allow anyone to run over 65 under their authority.

I appreciate the kind words(ish) 😆
This is my first time watching you on your channel. You were pulling a reefer so that means you can back up to a dock. Why would you go to a flatbed? I don’t get it. But you do you, good luck. ☮️🇺🇸
Welcome in. I started out in flatbed. I actually like various things about both. Flatbed rates are a little better spring/summer and running reefer in summer always concerns me.
@@ridingwithkev5560I used to run a reefer. Almost lost a whole load of chicken in 90 degree heat in the summer. Could never sleep always checking on it.
@@zackzander425 lol Im pulling an empty trailer and a reefer just went into high idle and I noticed
Seems that every time is based on your choice.
Absolutely
I can get you on with a guy that power only for Prime 85percent of the load. and you get Prime fuel discount.
Fele free if you have time to shoot me an email about him.

Lots of those small 40 truck companies in Chicago would gladly hire you… the Serbian, Russians out of Chicago… unit only
I would look into landstar
xactly what i was thinking
🤮
Landstar? They're horrible to lease a truck to
Maybe you should check out Landstar
I would never work for Swift. Even if They paid me triple the amount.
😆 I also made that mistake once
Which bank r u working with for the house?
I worked with Veterans United. They will sell it off but I did a VA loan.
@ridingwithkev5560 Thx. Found them online.
Did you look into crst?
I did. Gonna keep doing my own thing for a while.
Run Amazon trailer you can run 85 with your high beams on
💯
Sharp Transportation, Wellsville, Utah.
A little far from Texas but I'll give them a look
Last trip was Texas....
@RexLewis-vl2bj ohh ok I have never heard of them will check it out. Good looking out
I thought Sharp transportation was in ETHRIDGE TENNESSEE?
Maybe try landstar
Appreciate it. They won't let you run under your own authority. I may be able to run some for them on the spot market. We shall see.
What’s power only?
I don't own a trailer so I am pulling trailers that belong to someone who needs a truck to move it for many different reasons
Prime? Yikes! Never!😂
If you wouldn't mind pulling tanker
Give kenan a call, they take oo pretty regularly
Good looking out. I would need tanker and hazmat but fuel seems to be a good option.
@@ridingwithkev5560 no, just tanker
They got some food grade drop n hook
It's Zeke Dawg 🤘🏾
Appreciate ya
Check out dean foods, haul milk and ice cream the do power only people
Never heard of them I'll check if they are around
How about Landstar or Mercer 🤷♂️
I have my own authority so they only let you run under theirs.
Try landstar, mercer, Schneider
Pam does power only
Didn't know that will have to give it a look
What about leasing on to a tanker outfit
I don't have a tanker endorsement.
You wanted it - You got it!
You shouldn't be in this situation. I mean, Just what in the HELL have you been doing since 2020, 2021? You mean to tell me that ALL that running that you were doing got you to this point. I'm pretty sure you were a company driver at some point. Hauling refer, hauling flatbed! Now you want to get on with a company again. I'll tell ya, I wouldn't hire you. You are not dependable. I have NO respect for you truckers that like to job/carrier hop. Yall run for 3 to 6 months for a sign-on bonus and transition pay and then it's on to the next. Some people never learn.
Thanks for not watching the video lol
Get your own trailer
Yeah I have done that before.
What did you learn from all this?
That I am very glad I have my own authority
Too many people hauling the cheap freight. Brokers are ripping drivers off.
5:13 The Reason I Left Prime!!!
Did you try the Masters of freight; CH ROBINSON?
Definitely.
@@ridingwithkev5560 Well, what did they say?
Keep in mind the company your apply to does not make the final decision, its there consortium. The company that runs your background and says when you do a drug test. Maybe you need to run a background check on yourself and see why your being turned away.
I'm not really being turned away. Just the companies that require 1 year of authority because I only have 11 months. Many doors will open once I hit that mark. I'm actually doing great. Filmed a video just haven't had time to put it together yet. I am part of an O/O consortium. I have to run a background checkbon myself once a year.
Call Warren out of Cedar Rapids Iowa.
Warren is same as ATS, used to be good companies but got greedy.
Constantly making changes 😅😅😅😅😅
Only thing consistent
Sweet express
I'll look at them. It's just temporary.
Look at TSH .
Pretty sure you have to run under their authority. Could be wrong though.
Yes, we do, but we have no dispatch. An outside load board and inside load board.
Its about to be 2k25 buddy
Absolutely
Worse years in trucking I’ve ever seen this is bad
For sure 100%
Try ch robinson
I have hauled some spot market freight for them
You may check with Freymiller out of OKC
JB Hunt will accept power only
Yes of I'm dedicated to them. Only way to run power only as I want is to have over a year on my authority which I don't have yet
@@ridingwithkev5560 true I ironically commented right before you mentioned them 😂 but keep grinding brother! You ever pass through NKY HMU and I’ll spot your next meal!
J.B. Hunt pay is SHIT.
Super Ego pays 80 percent with your own truck. Come on to the winning side. Been there 3 years they have their own load board too
Tell everyone why they turn you down.
I did my authority doesn't have a year
@@ridingwithkev5560 tell the truth boy
@@RedRedred-ld4pb nah I'll let you since you know so much about my business (this should be a good one)
2020...too old for who..keep u broke
Hello , I don’t know how you be profitable in this market, it all depends how much in bills you need to pay
On the other hand. away from family and life is to short, not matter good money you make, Brokers will be banking to your salute.
It is definitely all about expenses. I can run good loads and make "enough" to be profitable and happy.
The worst thing you could do is always think you could get freight above $2 a mile. If you can't survive at a $1.75, what makes you think your company deserves to exist
I make money at $1 per mile. That's why I like $2 per mile.
he will take your truck. He is out of Texas
Is it running under my authority?
You don't need to work with this company's don't support them
Try F2F transport
Another American trucker can't get a job in his own country but there is NO shortage of Mexican or Canadian trucks operating in our country! Be sure to thank Trump and his USMCA!
Alot of it has to do with my authority not being old enough for some brokers.
