Been doing power only for many years now. Look to get set up with utility dealers, most of them will deal with owner operators directly, and 90% of their stuff is new trailers load outs or tow aways either way they pay good. I love their load outs especially reefers because they are usually brand new reefers from the plant here in Utah, they never pay under $1,000 if going across country, and as much as $1,800 last few I took to Costco in West Palm beach plus whatever loads I put in them. Another advantage if going direct with them is that if you earn their trust, have no claims etc, they do not bother you if you take longer than usual to deliver their trailers, whereas a broker will charge you $100 bucks a day if you go over whatever time frame they give you. I hate brokers with all my heart and nothing makes me happier than seing their postings of trailers on the boards and I just go to directly to the source and keep at least between $400 to even $700 more by not taking them from a broker.
Getting ready to go get my own truck again been driving for 25 yrs now I watch everything that goes on with trucking and I’m going to do power only and see how this goes fingers crossed 🤞 so you give good info love the videos
Appreciate it. I give the good with the bad. Haven't done it long enough to have an honest opinion. Really have to watch reload area and I am not familiar with those at all for PO.
Thanks for the info. I’m thinking about buying a truck and looking at different options. I appreciate your willingness to share your experience. Semper Fi! And you are not an idiot, you are learning! Keep up the good work!
I am definitely enjoying how easy it is. That being said, it's sad that I think $2 a mile is a good rate. Also, since I have never done it, I have no doubt I'll screw up and get in a bad area. But not really dealing with shippers/receivers and no real loading/unloading is nice.
@@ridingwithkev5560 fair enough, I’ve been watching since the beginning. Went to TMC and next week I finally get out of the truck. After a few job hops myself 🤣
Sounds great so far! I’m sure there will be the occasional “lemon” trailer that gives you issues but otherwise, easy easy! A friend of mine had a small trucking company in CT and did a lot of power only moving new trailers, mostly around the Northeast. He developed relationships with manufacturers and had some regular customers with easy, light freight (tissue, pasta, etc.). Even though the internet seems to depersonalize so many things, relationships are still key! Stay safe, until next time driver… See Ya!
Great content man! How do you get loads? Do you have a dispatcher because I am a dispatcher myself but I only have box trucks and cargo vans for now. I see PO loads on loadboards all the time so if you are looking to add one more dispatcher to give you load options then please lmk.
Look at the truckstop. I think they have pads of blank BOLs so you can make your own if you need one. Might come in handy with what you are doing now. Subbing--interested in learning more about PO. I've had my own authority for almost 3 years pulling dry van.
Check into natural disaster stuff. I have a couple buddies that used to pull tanker after hurricanes and they made $100/hr 24/7 from the time to got under the trailer to the time they pulled out from under it. That’s $2400 a day for as long as they need. That’s some damn good money there if you ask me especially if you end up doing a lot of sitting you’re still getting payed.
@@ridingwithkev5560 I’m not sure how you’d get in contact with someone or find a company to do it for but I do know it’s a option and they are out there
@@IsmaelSuleiman-xr8be I use DAT and truckstop. There are certain brokers that worked with me. Some smaller ones. A lot of the bigger ones won't work with you until you have a year.

Great information. I definitely am looking for some direct shipper opportunities to get away from the brokers on PO.
“The Lord protects the weak and the stupid” 😂😂 I’m a testament to that! Good work buddy!
I am the poster child 😆

Ohh Rah Brother. Just out here doing the best I can. Appreciate the kind words.
Have a solid plan before you start. Good time to buy cheap trucks, bad time to try to find freight.
That sounds very interesting, it might be something to look into.

Good to see you again my guy! An the good ole hopper bottom trailers 👌 can’t wait to see you pull a pneumatic tanker
I'll pull anything for the right price 😆
@@ridingwithkev5560 that is very fair! It’s the dollar amount matches the miles go for it stack them bills
I just binged like 6 videos because I hadn’t realized you put out new ones 🤣

Yeah I use teuckstop / DAT and carrier specific loadboards
Power only is the way to go. Look into the MRI trailers for the hospitals.
I have a ton to learn but I definitely like it so far.

I definitely had that thought to get some sort of pad BOL. I'm learning a lot for sure.
Way to keep grinding ma man.
Yes sir
Good shxt thanks for sharing 🙌🏼

Chad Keegan does power only and seems to do alright
Have to look him up.

@BigBackFitness404 welcome along. I don't make as much content as I use to but hopefully I can put out something that helps in some way.
can you do how to book those load
Where can I get work as a power only sir ?
I use DAT and truckstop loadboards. Best way is to find direct shippers but I am still working on that
If you make 3000$ weekly after all expenses I am doing it!,, Great videos
@Cerpiustogas power only is definitely tricky. I have had to adapt but there is revenue there.
@@ridingwithkev5560 just subscribed, can’t find video of you buying truck… HP, year, price.. would be interesting
