I think we could also mention how Jinx actually FIXES 4 important things when Isha is around Sevika's arm, her gun(turning Cait's bullethole into a hexgem port), her finger, and of course her family. Isha literally brings forth that part of Jinx that fixes things, not the one that destroy's them
@@DomiojyiX It's a game where Jinx fixes things before certain scenes in the show. First she fixes Sevika's arm before Vi and Caitlyn walk in with the Grey. The next Jinx fixes up the juke box in the Last Drop before she heads out to find Vander in the mines. The third act hasn't come out yet, so that chapter of the minigame is locked
The thing about Isha is, shes just Powder incarnate, shes basically a mixture of Jinx and Vi. Shes innocent, chaotic and self sacrificial just like Jinx is but shes protective, competent and brave like Vi. She's basically the ideal little sister for them and thats why she so quickly assimilates into the family and joins those group hugs
The fact that Isha is mute to someone like Jinx who suffers from vivid hallucinations Isha was the first person who wasn't haunting her. She both represents the silent struggle of the unaligned fissure people but also the greatest comfort someone can receive someone who would honestly listen
Thank you! I saw so many people taking issue with her being mute but I think it helped make her character even more compelling. Silent, but not silent...
And personally, i believe Isha is the only lost Jinx had that doesnt AND cant whisper since she is mute. I love it for that! Many of Jinx (or powder)'s loved one keeps popping up on her as whispers
I think what's interesting is also that Isha is the opposite of Powder in many ways. She's much more competent than Powder was and already very independent from when we meet her. She takes initiative by herself and seemingly learned how to make explosives and other tools with much less error (probably because Jinx taught her) and when she sacrifices herself, she actually does save her family and knew what she was doing unlike Powder in Episode 3. She's like Vi in a lot of ways, including her enthusiasm to fight for Zaun just like young Vi. She is what Powder wanted to be. "Twice the person she is at half her age" - Mylo I also think Jinx not teaching Isha restraint is her inheriting Silco's bad parenting because he also fails to teach her appropriate boundaries.
What’s more though is if you go even deeper, powder became what Vi unintentionally created or portrayed HERSELF to be… not following orders, fighting piltover and harming innocent people, encouraging powder to do things she didn’t want to do but felt she had to in order to gain Vis approval or love. Vi tried but led an example that said other wise throughout. Jinx unintentionally saves Isha BUT she intentionally changes certain actions. So she seemingly never does anything dangerous while Isha is with her past the parkour. It’s Isha who wants to push jinx into violent rebellion regardless if it’s to save people. While jinx is ONLY concerned with Isha being safe guarded and kept away from such things. Vast contrast. Little kids idolize and pick up things adults do regardless of intention. Where Vi failed is her rage and anger problems which powder picked up on. She internalized those issues and it defined her and made her prime fro Silcos nonsense. Whereas Jinx actively tried to change those traits she saw in Vi with Isha and unintentionally made Isha proud of her and idealize her heroism. Not the outcomes but jinx’s actual intentions which were almost always pure in her own head. Isha became the version of jinx she saw While powder became a version of Vi she saw and that was Jinx the violent zaunite. There’s a quote from a horror movie I love “We must be careful that our children don’t inherit our obsessions and vices.”
I think a lot to do with Isha's competence comes from the fact that she has a role model to base off of for these particular skills. Powder had Vi, sure, but Vi was "more into hitting things." For Isha, she has Jinx who can show her all these things the "right way" compared to where Powder had years of trial and error. "Twice as much at half the age" is to be expected when you have someone to show you the ropes the way they're intended. Jinx really is likely a fantastic teacher in this regard as she had to learn everything the hard way and can now pass successes on to others without them requiring to struggle as she did
Interestingly enough powder by definition shockingly means divided material, or explosives…. And jinx is just bad luck… If you go deeper, powder/jinx fulfilled the fleeting wants of Vi. She embodies the rage, hatred of topside, and violent outbursts that Vi repeatedly demonstrated in their youth. Everything Powder/Jinx did was to be just like her big sister. Similarly Isha embodied the true nature of of powder/jinx which was always the idea of selfless, reckless, joy and protection. Powder/jinx achieved the chaos Vi always secretly wanted in her youth but could never accomplish While Isha was able to accomplish what powder/jinx really wanted all along. To save her friends and family even at the cost of her life.
he didn't kill any child yet this season singed was the one who made vander become warwick and if you're talking about the kid viktor "saved" then they're not humans they don't count either
@@majoraccident1924No they are dead bodies with a emulation of personality of the person while they were alive. Jayce literally asked if it was really Solas and him not emitting heat while breathing and none of the people Vikto "healed" showed no discomfort like cold or they feet hurting from walking bare feet when Solas himself was a topside person so he would show visible discomfort from that. All of these things and the lack of emotion show that all of them can only be "calm" they don't fear, get angry or sad they quite literally aren't human. And act II end has Viktor saying that human emotions are a problem, again shows that he was manipulating each person he contacted and he will do it again but even worse. This is probably the moment he becomes the herald of new age.
I love how jinx is also constantly putting her helmet back on her, or pulling it down. I feel like it shows how she really wants her to be safe- even if she doesn't really know how to keep her safe
8:48 "And in Isha's mind, for all she knows, Jinx is just gonna lay down there again and let herself die." BROOOOO TOO EARLYYY T-T but you are so right! I had not put that together, that Isha would see Jinx not getting up immediately and go into "sacrifice/protection mode"
Talking about child psychology, know that if you rescue a kid, she wants to emulate you in every aspect, you become her superhero. What happens to Isha is normal; well, if you have broken person to be your example, you got something going on. I have often seen that the ones who should be protected become the protectors, because the parents are weak. We often see children sacrificing themselves to save their parents and their family. But, Isha healed Jinx as well. I love this story; a human drama like the ones you can see everywhere.
This just put a new perspective in my head. Isha is like Powder. The fact that Isha loves Jinx so much means that Powder probably loves Jinx too. This is huge for Jinx's mental health. She's always suffering because of this divide between Jinx and Powder like oil and water, but now that Isha is here wanting to be like Jinx, there's no more divide. Jinx and Powder can be one and the same. Jinx can now move on from her past.
@@JustLoro Jinx was always inside Powder. When we see scenes of the kids terrorizing the town, Powder is tossing up finger guns, being a general menace and a brat. She has snappy come backs with Mylo, and is slightly mischievous. That version of her, the one where she's brave, and tough, and with the gang ready to fight. That's what she *wanted* to be. It's what she thought Vi wanted her to be. So when Vi calls her a Jinx, but only reinforces the negatives. That's when she, as Ghost Silco says, "Becomes a prisoner in the cage we create". She embraces the "bad" Jinx, because thats what everyone else -- including Vi. See's in her. She stops seeing that Powder and Jinx are the same, and both can exist as one. It's a constant struggle of "Who am I really?" and "I must be what everyone else says I am". Truth is Jinx was never evil. She's just the product of a terrible situation, in a hostile environment. As we see highlighted in the Alternate universe, where the same girl, is good. Even to the detriment of herself (It's hinted she hangs around the Undercity to help others and is ignoring her own potential). This is further hinted at by multiple characters speaking about "The monster inside" or "The monster we become". We all have a monster deep inside us some where. Some small, some overwhelming. No one is 100% good. So when people *only* see you as a monster, that's the side that grows. That's the part of your multi-faceted personality that takes deepest root.
@@HauntingSpectre well put, but i think overall the persona of jinx was reinforced after all the horrible things, and perhaps to relieve some of the guilt that she likely felt for her family dying. Powder didnt kill them, jinx did. Jinx was sorta the dark side of powder... that is, until we meet isha, and see that jinx inspires and gives hope to the people of zaun. Isha is like a little powder, and its why jinx becomes a big sister type to her. I love how the character of jinx really took that manic pixie dream (or nightmare) girl trope, harley quinn esque persona and made it into something so fascinating and unique.
Another thing, I think that's why Jinx was trying to save Isha still when she knew what she was about to do. She knew she would either get hit or exploded, but it was that sacrificial/protective mode instinct, like they both have, and in turn Isha trying to do the same thing sacrificing and protecting Jinx, made Jinx try to do that as well, which made Vi realize that lil ol Powder was still in there somewhere and like you explained had a parallel to that night and why she still held her back. U have a rlly good explanation about this lol and this makes a lot more sense now
Thank you for bringing up intentionally. On tiktok I've been seeing videos saying "Vi's realizing that Jinx is a better older sister than she ever was." When I feel that the show hasn't conveyed that. Tho Vi wasn't perfect, she sid her best to take care and PROTECT her sister. Whereas Jinx doesn't do this in the same way. She will protect Isha of she knows she is in danger, but she lacked the protective instinct to protect her from possible future danger. She mainly just let's Isha run free. Which I like cause it says a lot about her as a character. It felt like she was giving Isha the room to be herself without anything holding her back. The room she needed as kid to further more perfect her skill. It's not really that Jinx knew she was being irresponsible, but just that she saw her as an equal, a friend, which is beautiful, but because of this ot never occurred to her to be more vigilant for Isha's sake. That tho Isha is a human being and is just as deserving as anyone of dignity, respect, and freedom, she is also a much smaller, more vulnerable human being, that she needs to constantly look out for. Since Jinx isn't used to having someone smaller to take care of a lot of things just didn't occur to her. Where as Vi had the instinct to always look out for Powder. She gave her the room to be who she was, and encouraged her to keep on going even when she felt all her efforts were pointless (which is role in Jinx's life she still took on even when they were apart, based on what she said in the beginningof tea party scene). She allowed Powder to come along but only when she felt she was ready, this way she wouldn't bite off more than she could chew. This why I believe Isha's death parallels the scene where Powder is left behind because she's not ready. Tho I believe Vi did a good job at explaining why Powder couldn't come, it didn't fully sink in for Powder, because in the moment it feels like all her fears of not being good enough, or as competent as the others was confirmed by her biggest supporter. But I feel now with Isha's death she finally realizes the real reason she was left that night. It's because she was inadequate, it's not cause she was "a jinx", it was for her own safety. Cause she was all Vi had left. Vi was only trying to avoid the loss that Jinx is now currently going thru (efforts that were sadly in vain considering how she still ended up losing everyone that night). A protective instinct that never left. Even tho she was injured she still shielded Jinx's body from the explosion.
It really comes down to a movie quote that’s always stuck with me “We must be careful that our children don’t inherit our obsessions and vices” Intention isn’t always the factor when children look up to their elders. Powder became jinx in an effort to become what she idolized and saw in Vi. Her rage, aggression, and violent outbursts of emotion. Self destructive outbursts….. Similarly Isha became what she idolized in her elder. A lack of self preservation in efforts to save people. Even when jinx STOPPED and hid in order to keep Isha safe who she truly is is and what’s innate to her nature wasn’t something she could hide from Isha. And she ran with it doing what jinx couldn’t/wouldn’t. Just like for all of Vis rage and anger she could never enact the violence jinx did without thought or remorse.
whats funny is its a lie that vi is a better sister when has Jinx ever smacked the shit outa isha xD And Vi didnt smack her once no no no in the music video we saw her crashing out on Powpow then AFTERRR she dipped out on her little sister i personally could never. And her "protecting" Her sister wouldnt have been her running off to go help vander if she died who would powder have hypothetically if the others got away mylo and klagger arent good enough for her
Both are great sisters Both have more going on than realistic people lol So obviously things get messy as sisters or guardians Even now they are still young so how much are they supposed to get right?
The way jinx is definitely self-aware that she’s danger herself and no one’s safe around her SO thats why she at the start of timeskip gave up on chaos and shit stuff (stuff she talked w silcos chair lol) But life forces shit on jinx, making her really a jinx😭
People made some theories about her not being dead bcs u can see a pink lighting right when the bomb goes off, and caitlyn is looking at the vents in that area at the end
There's a few hints she didn't die. The pink streaks zooming away from the explosion like the streaks left when she uses her shimmer powers. Caitlyn looking at the vent schematics while holding the little monkey toy's head. The blimp/dirigible flying away as the last scene of the final episode, when she said as a kid she'd ride on one someday. And then to add to that the writer or producer or whatever has come out and said he won't confirm nor deny if Jinx is dead or not. I'm huffing that grade A hopium thinking maybe we'll see her in one of the future shows. There's some lore stuff relating Lux and Jinx, so maybe we'll see her whenever they do the Demacia show.
One of my favorite scenes from season 2 actually emphasizes Jinx’s lack of self-preservation perfectly. When she gets cornered by that gang in act 1, right before Sevika shows up. She’s pinned to a wall and threatened with a needle to the face. But just like every other time she encounters danger, Jinx doesn’t flinch. Ever. And while talking about Silco, she lurches forward with the needle inches from her eye, forcing it to move backwards! She barely notices the thing!
And after she befriends Isha, she starts to show genuine fear in situations where she’s about to die. They don’t say anything about it or draw attention to it, they just leave it there for you to figure out.
1. Best analysis video of Isha I've seen so far (I knew the falling hat must have meant something but I didn't think of this! And I'm so happy someone talked about the bunny ears) 2. As a European, I think it's so dystopian that kids in the US have heroic dreams of saving their classmates from a shooter. Like can we just stop for a second. EDIT: Guys I feel like I've got to clarify because some people are missing the point. I'm not saying it's dystopian that kids have fantasies about being heroes in gun violence - heck, I had those too. I'm saying it's dystopian that kids in the US specifically live under such real threats of gun violence at their SCHOOL, the place they go to every day, that the heroic context they dream about is saving their classmates in school shootings. Thanks to the 300 people who seem to have got the point, though :)
yeah when your constantly living under fear of something and also constantly being force fed strong tough revolutionary fighters in tv n movie media, its likely youll imagine fighting against the injustices closest to you. like yeah some kids think it in a grotesque self serving fantasy, but most kids are coping with their fear by imagining their own immense bravery- as a european, who the fuck are u to think you know and can judge what american students are thinking and feeling- like ur comment seems to be blaming the kids for havbing these dystopian thoughts and not instead the people who are creating this dystopian environment for these children to have that kind of reactions like yeah when the world is messed up around/towards you ur gonna have a high likely hood of thinking messed up thoughts in response
@@JosefinaQB stfuu op wasn't judging any kids, you're just projecting and being overemotional the judgement is on stupid adult americans who will never change the status quo and let this dystopian seeming reality to happen
@@Yeneney for ur second point, it sort of bleeds in to the heroic dreams every child has of being a hero and violence and etc. kind of fucked that we do have more uh substance to this dream and an actual scenario but like I’m pretty sure every child dreams of being some type of hero (source: trust me bro)
as a European, I've had those dreams too. not because we have any threats of a school shooting, but because making yourself the "hero" in your daydreams is fucking sick when you couldn't do so in reality
"That which inspires us to a greatest good, is also the cause of our greatest evil" - this is the last line Viktor says. While I belive it's foreshadowing for something truly evil he is about to do, it very much applies to daughters in this series. Singed, Ambessa, Vander, Silco, Marcus and now.... Jinx. I also belive the there is hope of reconciliation for Jinx. Yes these deaths will hurt her but, for the first time in her life when somebody around her dies, it's of their own free will conviction and terms. Vander and Silco were more or less killed by Jinx. Isha dies with full agency, and chooses to go out protecting Jinx. While traumatic, it probably is also cathartic in a way.
Easy to tell you don't make content lol because unfortunately, you're just wrong. Title and thumbnail IS the meta rn... It's everything in getting people to click. "I hope more people are your content" ... Yeah that's gonna happen through title and thumbnail.
THIS. For whatever reason people don't see the problem with Isha. She was essentially indoctrinated into a revolution because that's what she thought was right. She was a kid. She didnt know better. Her death, to Isha, was something she considered as an act of heroism because of this revolution. Isha is an important lesson about NOT INVOLVING CHILDREN in adult matters.
it's not a " lesson". it's realistic approach to writing about war. not something americans know much of, but thankfully the production studio is french
I could be wrong, but because of all the scenes towards the end of her bringing Warwick water in her helmet and stuff like that, i assumed there was also an element of her trying to put him out of his misery before the last of his humanity was burned away during that last rampage. Which would also be protecting jinx from having to kill her own father.
i like some of these points a lot... especially pointing out how while isha intentionally parallels powder there are also quite a few differences, most notably stemming from how isha was on her own for some time presumably before she fell into jinx's life vs how powder was The baby sibling of the group in her case. and these things impact a lot of the characterization present for both of them! one other thing though. i think it's clear from the teasers that jinx is going to be in an awful mental space for some time but i actually don't think that isha's death fully represents the "death of your childhood self" here. a lot of jinx's arc this season has literally been about acceptance of childhood and while there is a sense of mourning to that present i think it's very clear that this is not a retreading of the ending of s1 with her mental state.
Isha's character and end gave me a particular heartache that I couldnt quite put into words until this video... she was doomed, but WHY she was doomed, and how, is what really stings the most. She's just one of many sad Zaunites who just wants to live life to her fullest, and I think she really did even in her short time. I love her.
First video that actually gives a good analysis of WHY Isha would do what she does at the end...the simple "to save Jinx" never really fit, as there was a good chance Jinx was gonna be fine. There literally was no real reason for her to sacrifice herself when she could have done 1000 different things, such as bringing zappy to Jinx, try to drag Jinx away, bring the stones back to Vi for her gauntlets etc. You actually gave a pretty good answer to what lead Isha to that decision that didn't involve the obvious: "Because the writers needed her dead" and that to me makes a lot of sense on a realistic psychological sense!
I also thought this scene 5:38 had a big connection to the scene when powder unintentionally "kills" vander, thinking she's saving everyone. Though she couldnt actually kill him, isha shoots at vander trying to save jinx and be a hero with the same sense of pride as powder did with the bomb. No idea if theres any actual connection but just what i noticed
"Disgusting truth" is unfair at best, and "disgusting click-bait" at worst, which is WAY below you, because your commentary and insights in other videos have been so richly detailed, remarkably empathetic and even profound. Isha's personal growth, relationship developments, and the full agency she had for each of her independent and enlightened choices make her a legendary hero in her own right... NOT merely a fridged motivation for "the lead." Meanwhile, I'm LOVING most of your work. Thank you for sharing. 💙
Other ways Isha influenced Jinx: 1st - Made Jinx pay attention to her surroundings, i.e. her fall-out and potential for accidental harm to others. 2nd - Inspired Jinx to get in touch with her former sense of care-free playfulness and simply feel joy. 3rd - Reminded Jinx about being eager, full of potential, and truly hopeful. 4th - Reminded Jinx about feeling held back 5th - Depressed Jinx about NOT living up to her OWN potential now that she was free to do whatever she wanted 6th - Scared Jinx into recognizing her need to become more responsible 7th - Enlightened Jinx and made her empathize with VI's role as her protector 8th - Taught Jinx how to recognize and accept true love 9th - Motivated Jinx to lead by becoming a better example 10th - Inspired Jinx to focus on the higher cause, instead of her own grief 💙
Hey... In fairness, that clickbaity title got me to click, cuz I was expecting something controversial that I'd probably disagree with. Instead I got something insightful and really interesting. If the video had just said 'What Isha represents', I prooooobably wouldn't have clicked, but that's basically the video I just watched and I'm happy with how this all turned out. ^_^ Clickbait only irks me when the content was never worth clicking on to begin with - when it's 'two minutes of my life I'll never get back' type stuff. If it's a good video that got me because of a misleading title, I tip my hat and say gg sir, ya freaking got me. I respect the hustle if I had fun being hustled xD
a great way to convey the message maturely, unlike other simpletons that would just bash the person and start a mindless war in the comments section. we need more people like you.
but it is disgusting that a kid would ever have to go through this. you would call it just "sad" to get away from the truth. think about the millions of kids forced into this protector role. its disgusting to think about, the trauma that theyre left with.
I agree with the assessments made, but some extra thoughts, for anyone reading: It's a bit difficult and almost unfair to compare Vi and Jinx's older sister parenting, as well as Isha and Powder as children. 1st: Age difference. Vi was 15-16 and Powder was 9. Jinx is 18-19 and Isha (IMO) looks younger like 7-9. People can argue that Vi was more protective, and that may be true, BUT she was ok with them all taking on a Piltover theft and likely other unlawful activities as a group. Instead, Jinx was playing games, dress up, entertaining Isha and gave up crime. The Undercity + Sevika + Isha is what drove her to get back into the revolution. Jinx wanted to stay in her bubble with Isha but couldn't any longer. Whereas Vi was on a mission to be part of the revolution or crime probably most of her life after her parents passed. 2nd: Those saying Jinx was irresponsible or didn't hover and protect Isha is not fully fair. For reasons above, but I also think Jinx was trying to give Isha the sisterhood she never got from Vi and desperately wanted. Powder wanted trust, respect, freedom, yet inclusion, but also fun and playfulness. She also likely just wanted girlie sister moments with Vi. Clearly stated in Ep 4 "I never got to do this with my sister. She liked hitting things." So I don't think that Jinx is being negligent, but more so being the older sister she wanted from Vi. Less boundaries, yet more innocence and fun. 3rd: Vi grew up having a little sister from a young age. A biological one, no less. Older sibling instincts tend to kick in immediately. Jinx grew up as a youngest child, which is VERY different in perspective, perception, how you live your life, your instincts, everything. Jinx had to learn very quickly, and this came after she already had a very traumatized past, and a sister who she thought 'abandoned' her twice. That takes a lot of growth and maturity to be a good sibling when your past was shaped very different, plus sisterhood being Jinx's ultimate trigger, no less. Not that we know what Isha has been through, but still, Jinx has Vi wounds, ones Isha maybe never had. Further, Vi and Jinx lost their parents together. Grief builds bonds. And protectiveness will come out even more after something like that. Isha and Jinx's pasts were separate but also probably not even disclosed to each other. Isha didn't even know Jinx's name used to be Powder til Ep 4 (months after they met/bonded), and Jinx also refers to her past with Vi as if Isha is unaware of it (in Ep 5 "She wasn't always like this. She actually used to be pretty cool.") It's as if Isha knew almost nothing about Jinx's past, maybe didn't even know Jinx had a sister (til Ep 4) or certainly not what their dynamic was or why they were separated, their friction, trauma etc. Isha is shown without a family, and thus became independent. It's unfair to compare that with Powder who grew up with a lot of family and was the youngest. She never had the opportunity to grow and be resourceful on her own, other than with her gadgets. + Vi had a whole family/friends/community helping raise them all. Surrounded by love. After the S1 timejump, Jinx had none of that apart from Silco (his clan, organized for missions/crime, is hardly comparable to what Vi and Powder grew up with in the Lanes). And Jinx was even more alone when she took in Isha, besides somewhat Sevika. Isha and Jinx (not Powder) were similar in that they were two orphaned and hunted outcasts-so I think it was a silent understanding + decision to trust and loosen the reigns. 4th: Jinx has suffered severe trauma and PTSD (and actual hallucinations and 'episodes'), but is expected to fill the role of any average sibling/parent? The reality is that sadly, the lack of self preservation that comes from conditions like that doesn't just go away overnight or because you have a new sibling or child. In reality, parents and others struggle with their mental health and still do self harm or succeed in it. Plus yes she was raised by Silco which no doubt affected her perceptions and instincts. (Also note Jinx literally had no friends after the S1 timejump, besides Silco who was more of a parent to her. She likely wasn't playing with anyone, anyone to just talk to. Imagine trying to heal from trauma in that kind of environment? As a 9-19 yr old? It's possible she would've healed or not suffered so greatly if she was 'taken in' to normal conditions, with a loving family, and/or had other kids to play with etc, get her mind on other things besides her abandonment wounds and her family and friends being gone). 5th: Lastly, Isha and Jinx are not biological sisters. Still a close bond, but I say this because there will almost always be more freedom, less hovering or judging etc between two people who aren't related, vs when you are. Jinx knows she's not actually Isha's sister or parent, and so I think it's a conscious choice to allow Isha some autonomy. Biological siblings tend to think 'they know what's best/right' or usually feel compelled to intervene or chime in lol. Also now that Act III released, it's clear how Jinx honored Isha in her Ep 9 balloon with the bunny ears and teeth-covered hood. And she was obviously distraught over losing Isha, seen in her demeanor of Ep 8 and early Ep 9, and the fact that she even surrendered to Enforcers, probably feeling defeated, depressed, and without purpose anymore. And she absolutely protected Vi in Ep 9. Could've been her self preservation faltering, but still a brave and loving act to a sister she had a very complicated relationship with. (But I absolutely believe the theories and proof that Jinx did in fact survive! By escaping through the Hexgates air vents (purple shimmer streak seen just before the explosion, and Caitlyn zooming in on the Hexgates diagram vents while holding the monkey bomb, as if no body was found and Caitlyn realizing Jinx escaped). And believe that Jinx left Piltover by flying ship, seen at the end of Ep 9. As a callback to S1 Ep 1: "One day, I'm going to fly in one of those." She knew Vi would always worry about her ("You're never gonna give up on me are you?") and that Vi would be caught between her and Cait, and so I think Jinx decided to leave Piltover on her own terms, to start a new life + identity). Apologies this was so long, but thoughts I wanted to add. Sad the season is over! Crossing my fingers that Jinx will return in future seasons, even if in an alternate world or different story or not as the main character etc. There's always room for an encore and comeback! Despite what creators say 'today' about this story of Piltover ending. :)
Didn’t think i would read the whole thing but i did and i completely agree! You put it into words so perfectly, you could even have your own commentary channel🫡
@ Aw thanks so much! ☺️ Haven’t really tried my hand at content creation or figuring out the production involved, but yeah I definitely have a lot of thoughts 😄 I love Jinx and Arcane and really enjoy discussing the fandom :) Something I forgot to add is Vi had a whole family/friends/community helping raise them all. Isha and Jinx (not Powder) were similar in that they were two orphaned and hunted outcasts-so I think it was a silent but conscious understanding + decision to trust and loosen the reigns.
5:42 Psychologically , motivationally , writing wise the death scene broke me 💀 (Good vid I loved your analysis of her character keep up da great work!)
This was very beautiful. I almost cried while watching this video. How could such a child be so brave to sacrifice herself? She must’ve believed deep down that Jinx can be better. I cannot wait for the next 3 episodes!
Was very worried at first thinking that there was something wrong about my favorite. Just turns out she’s even more important than I had first thought. Helps me cope with her death at least
In the first episode of the act, Jinx told Sevika to take Isha away while she stayed behind to fight Warwick. In the last episode, Vi held Jinx back while Isha went to blow everyone up. Isha learned the best and the worst from her big sis.
I maintain that Isha isn't mini-Jinx, she's mini-Vi. Yes, she idolizes Jinx and wants to be her, but her instincts to jump into a fight she has no hope of winning are very Vi coded. The first time we see her she attempts that jump and fails, which seems like Powder, but Powder needed coaxing and reassurance. The bunny was also Vi's toy before she gave it to Powder. And the biggest hint she's Vi? Jinx likes her. Jinx fights Vi not because she hates Vi, but because Vi wants her to be someone she DOES hate...Powder. I know Jinx at one point says Isha reminds her of Powder(that's a confusing set of words, lol), but who the heck would think Jinx is reliable in that way? Isha is(was :( ) mini-Vi.
Isha truly represented meaning and hope for Jinx. She managed to bring out aspects of Jinx that even her own sister, Vi, couldn’t. With Isha around, Jinx transformed from a destructive personality into a restorative and constructive one. Contrary to what the channel’s owner explained, I don’t believe Isha existed solely for Jinx’s character development; rather, Jinx’s character changed because Isha existed. There was genuine love between them, and I wish they had allowed her to continue her life by Jinx’s side instead of having her sacrifice herself and lose her life as a child. The moment when Isha, with teary eyes, performed the special hand gesture she shared with Jinx before sacrificing herself deeply moved me as well. There was undoubtedly a strong emotional bond between them. It’s heartbreaking to hear that there won’t be a third season of the series. I wish there were, and that Isha could reappear somehow in it.
as a kiwi who lives on almost the opposite side of the world the talk at 6:20 really kinda blew me away. It’s sad and scary that that is considered a normal occurrence in such young children in America like god damn you’d never hear anyone else make a statement like that.
Same, as another person who doesn't live in USA it's crazy how normalized it is to think that type of thoughts or y'know it's just smt sad that happens there.
That's the whole theme The cosplayers IRL And with the Jynx copy cats in the city Like Batman Beyond with the Jokers A bunch of idiots trying to be someone else instead of finding themselves
Isha's the most redundant character of Arcane. At the start of season 2, Jinx is already depressed. And her blowing up didn't destroy Vander's face to give us full wolf head Warwick, and instead of Jinx going from depressed to a fuck it all, burn everything kind of terrorist after losing the kid that's given her a chance to be better, she just goes back to being depressed. Removing Isha from the story will not change anything. And that's how you know, you wrote a redundant character.
To quote a Sword Art Online video from Mother's Basement, "She's sweet, and innocent, and might as well be walking around with a timer counting down to her sad death." I cringed when Isha was introduced because there was no other purpose to this character than to have her die off in order to push Jinx in some suicidal direction. I think Isha's inclusion was one of the biggest mistakes of season 2. This was a good video. Thank you for the thorough analysis.
Shes also the second monkey bomb. Small, helmet makes her look like it, three gems that explode taking away vander. In the cave she even claps like it.
In my opinion about arcane season 2 all episodes is a Time skip. Season 1 (act1X3) Powder lost everything that part got me, Season 2 (act 2X6) Isha and because time skip I'm not cry, I understand Isha can't save Jinx, she too young to chose to stop Warwick but in the end of the day, that's how Family do and Isha chose to do it like a champ.
i had a feeling from the very beginning of isha’s character that she was meant to die, just like you mentioned in the end of this video. she was just too cute and wholesome for the arcane world lol. i also assumed that isha’s helmet was from one of her parents, maybe she lost both or the last one in the mines and she wears their helmet to remember them by (which is why it constantly falls off, because it’s too big for her). it would also explain the trauma that caused her to be mute
Nerd here. You used the scientific spelling of Jinx, stemming from the scientific name of the wryneck, which was often associated with bad omens due to witchcraft. I just know birds, don't ask.
Idk that Isha was intentionally sacrificing herself. She put in three hex crystals but likely didn't know that would cause the gun to explode killing herself. Very well could have simply been thinking it woild make it stronger.
i definitely got this too. Similarly to when powder used the hex crystal in act 1, she didn't realize the power it had. I think Isha had the same idea of doing something BIG to save everyone, and Jinx was afraid because knew she was going to make the same mistake that Powder did. I dont think Isha intentionally planned to kill herself
Nah, she knew what would happen. Firstly it's shown that she's competent with some of Jinx's gadgets, see that parachute smoke bombs she deploys. Secondly, as she's running she's crying and remembering all the happiness she had with Jinx (stylised flashbacks). She 💯 knew it was the end, and that's what made her a great little character.
You can see it in her face that she knows she will die when she closes her eyes. Also, even if it didnt blow up, being a small child stuck in the middle of Noxian soldiers isnt very healthy
So yall really think this child knew about how hextech worked and if she over clocked the gun it would explode? Yall think she just suicide bombed it like I'm gunna go kill myself here? There is a difference between being willing to put your life on the line and intentionally dying.
About time I found a video just on Isha About to watch this I want to know her backstory I mean where are her parents Why is she so willing to delete herself for the cause? I think she sees Jinx as the face of the cause, so imo she ended herself to protect the movement against topside
Are you all seeing that the time stop at the end of the episod ? Nobody talk about that but it’s cearly ekko who came back. Sadly, i don’t think he will save isha ( the explosion already happen and it’s better for the scenario i suppos, even if i hope not 😅
I'm super excited to see Jinx fight. When she went 1v1 against Vander and Ambessa's guard it was total “Cinema” haha. One thing I noticed is that every time (or almost every time) Jinx was defeated, she lost because they grabbed her hair.
Isha I feel has a secret. Besides being a Yordle playing as a Human. She was sent to find someone. The person in a prophecy. She found it in Jinx, but how the ending of this show will make or break the theory. If Jinx does a sacrifice play. She will wind up where Isha landed and I'm saying it now. The next series is taking place in the land of the Yordles and Isha will speak for the first time to her after revealing who she really is.
Next series is a 100% Ionia, because of Noxus foreshadowing, Singed is involved with the gassing of troups, which canonically also entangles with Riven, which is tied to also Draven which ties with Darius, Black Rose needs to be followed by someting otherwise is the worst written Arc in history, Zad/Shen/Akali/Kennen are so together the plot basically half writes itself. Sorry but Isha is just a kid from Zaun and she died to save Jinx and try to do what she could never do, kill Vander. Her arc is great as is, she fulfilled her purpose, bringing her back would serve nothing to the story and would greatly diminish her sacrifice and rewatching episode 6 after discovering she's alive would make the scene completely dull and devoid of true meaning.
Lmao you totally got me with that clickbait - I probably wouldn't have looked into this if I wasn't thinking 'oooooh, what's the drama!' xD But this turned out to be a really insightful character analysis! Ya definitely hustled me but it was time well spent and I regret nothing. Don't let people shame you for clickbaity titles, THEY WORK, and your content is really freaking good so do whatcha gotta do chief.
Good video, I hope there are more character studies on your channel, I will check it out after work. One thing I want to say that I find sad but not related. @06:30 you mention a fantasy of saving the school from a shooter growing up, and that most kids you spoke to had the same. I def get that, the yearning to do something meaningful even just once. But what is sad is in other countries, its simply not a thing that happens, Our fantasies might be to pull people from a burning building etc (similar) But having so many commonly say "save a school shooting in the US.. that's sad. I will leave it at that as not to derail this great video, I will keep further thoughts to myself.
Awesome analysis, I really enjoyed it, I think you covered it very well. One thing that I can’t get out of my head, about Isha’s sacrifice, is the scene where Jinx, Sevika and Isha goes to Stillwater to rescue the prisoners. Jinx introduces herself as their “big fat hero” multiple times during this scene, as she - as you mentioned - yet again puts herself in a dangerous situation. I think it’s a super relevant correlation. What if that’s what Isha also wanted to be? The big fat hero. Just like you said, when you’re a kid, you imagine yourself as the hero.
I love this show, like a lot, like I’m a grown man who cried at many different parts, I wish there was more of the show. Does anyone know if more shows or movies from this universe will be created ?
This is a very good video. You've explained Isha's mindset so well, that it actually is somewhat a comfort after seeing her go out like that on Monday. I haven't felt this sad about a character dying since The Red Wedding, so good on the writers for knowing how to punch me in the feels. #JinxIsNotOkay
Isha represents Powder in another life. If she was treated with respect if she was given the room to help and if she was a strength and not a weakness. But it is because she is all of this that she ends up on the opposite path from Jinx. She ended up dead sacrificing herself for her side. Isha was a renewed innocence for Jinx and to see the world be so cruel to someone she could have been will lead Jinx into the final evolution of her character.
I think we could also mention how Jinx actually FIXES 4 important things when Isha is around
Sevika's arm, her gun(turning Cait's bullethole into a hexgem port), her finger, and of course her family.
Isha literally brings forth that part of Jinx that fixes things, not the one that destroy's them
Hold on cause in LOL there is now a thing I don’t know if it’s a game or like short story called “Jimx fixes everything”
@@DomiojyiX its a minigame in the league client
@@DomiojyiX It's a game where Jinx fixes things before certain scenes in the show. First she fixes Sevika's arm before Vi and Caitlyn walk in with the Grey. The next Jinx fixes up the juke box in the Last Drop before she heads out to find Vander in the mines. The third act hasn't come out yet, so that chapter of the minigame is locked
I misread what jinx turned in to a hexgem port😅
I hate that vander died again and isha
The thing about Isha is, shes just Powder incarnate, shes basically a mixture of Jinx and Vi. Shes innocent, chaotic and self sacrificial just like Jinx is but shes protective, competent and brave like Vi. She's basically the ideal little sister for them and thats why she so quickly assimilates into the family and joins those group hugs

"Rebel heart"
The fact that Isha is mute to someone like Jinx who suffers from vivid hallucinations Isha was the first person who wasn't haunting her. She both represents the silent struggle of the unaligned fissure people but also the greatest comfort someone can receive someone who would honestly listen
Thank you! I saw so many people taking issue with her being mute but I think it helped make her character even more compelling. Silent, but not silent...
Oooooh I love this observation of her muteness!! So good!
And personally, i believe Isha is the only lost Jinx had that doesnt AND cant whisper since she is mute. I love it for that! Many of Jinx (or powder)'s loved one keeps popping up on her as whispers
I didn't know Isha was mute I thought they couldn't find a voice actor
I think Isha is mute because she's deaf, she tends react to what she sees but not what she can't see.
"Twice the person she is at half her age" - Mylo
I also think Jinx not teaching Isha restraint is her inheriting Silco's bad parenting because he also fails to teach her appropriate boundaries.
It’s interesting though, because Jinx started as Powder, then turned into Jinx.
Meanwhile Isha started like Jinx, then turned into powder.
@@Calamity-_-y Isha never was even close to being Jinx.
Isha became the version of jinx she saw
While powder became a version of Vi she saw and that was Jinx the violent zaunite.
There’s a quote from a horror movie I love
“We must be careful that our children don’t inherit our obsessions and vices.”
Jinx really is likely a fantastic teacher in this regard as she had to learn everything the hard way and can now pass successes on to others without them requiring to struggle as she did
@pewienczlowiekag3111 Yes, she is close to Jinx, she's basically a young, stable Jinx
You can really tell that Isha's base character is protecting Jinx because her name literally means 'one who protects'
NO PLESE, I DIDNT WANT TO KNOW IT. I just love that little party pooper
Interestingly enough powder by definition shockingly means divided material, or explosives…. And jinx is just bad luck…
If you go deeper, powder/jinx fulfilled the fleeting wants of Vi.
Powder/jinx achieved the chaos Vi always secretly wanted in her youth but could never accomplish
While Isha was able to accomplish what powder/jinx really wanted all along. To save her friends and family even at the cost of her life.

8:48 "And in Isha's mind, for all she knows, Jinx is just gonna lay down there again and let herself die."
BROOOOO TOO EARLYYY T-T
but you are so right!
3:11 this is so funnyy cuz in act 3 she tried to kill herself 5 more times in under a minute.
a minute?
less than 10 seconds tecnically
It was a loop though. So from her perspective she in fact only tried to kill herself 3 times.
She had Ekko playing a quick time event where he had to pick the right dialogue
This just put a new perspective in my head. Isha is like Powder. The fact that Isha loves Jinx so much means that Powder probably loves Jinx too. This is huge for Jinx's mental health. She's always suffering because of this divide between Jinx and Powder like oil and water, but now that Isha is here wanting to be like Jinx, there's no more divide. Jinx and Powder can be one and the same. Jinx can now move on from her past.
Jinx was created to save Powder, and I think Isha's existence and love for her really does validate this.
It really comes down to a movie quote that’s always stuck with me
“We must be careful that our children don’t inherit our obsessions and vices”
Intention isn’t always the factor when children look up to their elders.

They don’t say anything about it or draw attention to it, they just leave it there for you to figure out.

as a European, I've had those dreams too. not because we have any threats of a school shooting, but because making yourself the "hero" in your daydreams is fucking sick when you couldn't do so in reality
Everyone in the show will get their Glorius Evolution in ACT 3, it's been the underlying principal since episode 1.

This was a great video. You didn't need to rely on such a clickbait title though. I hope more people see your content though!
agree, it's not a disgusting truth
@@solarydaysexactly, besides her sacrifice was not in vain
The children yearn for the battlefield.
Girl what? Have you ever been in a situation where you are born into chaos? Children are always involved. Always. They’re born into it.
Well, during Warwick introduction Jinx clearly and very intentionally stay to protect Isha against Warwick (big scary monster)
i like some of these points a lot... especially pointing out how while isha intentionally parallels powder there are also quite a few differences, most notably stemming from how isha was on her own for some time presumably before she fell into jinx's life vs how powder was The baby sibling of the group in her case. and these things impact a lot of the characterization present for both of them!
one other thing though. i think it's clear from the teasers that jinx is going to be in an awful mental space for some time but i actually don't think that isha's death fully represents the "death of your childhood self" here. a lot of jinx's arc this season has literally been about acceptance of childhood and while there is a sense of mourning to that present i think it's very clear that this is not a retreading of the ending of s1 with her mental state.
5:09 My left ear really enjoyed this
Lmfaooo
lol i thought my right airpod disconnected
Isha's character and end gave me a particular heartache that I couldnt quite put into words until this video... she was doomed, but WHY she was doomed, and how, is what really stings the most. She's just one of many sad Zaunites who just wants to live life to her fullest, and I think she really did even in her short time. I love her.
@solarydays i still like her
First video that actually gives a good analysis of WHY Isha would do what she does at the end...the simple "to save Jinx" never really fit, as there was a good chance Jinx was gonna be fine.
NOT merely a fridged motivation for "the lead."
Meanwhile, I'm LOVING most of your work. Thank you for sharing. 💙
Other ways Isha influenced Jinx:
1st - Made Jinx pay attention to her surroundings, i.e. her fall-out and potential for accidental harm to others.
2nd - Inspired Jinx to get in touch with her former sense of care-free playfulness and simply feel joy.
3rd - Reminded Jinx about being eager, full of potential, and truly hopeful.
4th - Reminded Jinx about feeling held back
5th - Depressed Jinx about NOT living up to her OWN potential now that she was free to do whatever she wanted
6th - Scared Jinx into recognizing her need to become more responsible
7th - Enlightened Jinx and made her empathize with VI's role as her protector
8th - Taught Jinx how to recognize and accept true love
9th - Motivated Jinx to lead by becoming a better example
10th - Inspired Jinx to focus on the higher cause, instead of her own grief

Even great TH-camrs gotta use clickbait
☺️ Haven’t really tried my hand at content creation or figuring out the production involved, but yeah I definitely have a lot of thoughts 😄 I love Jinx and Arcane and really enjoy discussing the fandom :)
Something I forgot to add is Vi had a whole family/friends/community helping raise them all. Isha and Jinx (not Powder) were similar in that they were two orphaned and hunted outcasts-so I think it was a silent but conscious understanding + decision to trust and loosen the reigns.

You are devious for that.
The moment i saw Isha relationship with Jinx in ep 4 i tought: She is going to die, isnt she?
This was very beautiful. I almost cried while watching this video. How could such a child be so brave to sacrifice herself? She must’ve believed deep down that Jinx can be better. I cannot wait for the next 3 episodes!
Was very worried at first thinking that there was something wrong about my favorite. Just turns out she’s even more important than I had first thought. Helps me cope with her death at least
The name Isha means : to protect
What language?
In the first episode of the act, Jinx told Sevika to take Isha away while she stayed behind to fight Warwick. In the last episode, Vi held Jinx back while Isha went to blow everyone up. Isha learned the best and the worst from her big sis.
0:07 wild ahh intro💀
Wow
The parallels in arcane are incredible

2:56 just finished the last episodes and this sentence just hits different.
NO EXACRLLYYY and when Ekko kept rewinding time so she didnt die really just threw it in our faces
To quote a Sword Art Online video from Mother's Basement, "She's sweet, and innocent, and might as well be walking around with a timer counting down to her sad death."
I cringed when Isha was introduced because there was no other purpose to this character than to have her die off in order to push Jinx in some suicidal direction. I think Isha's inclusion was one of the biggest mistakes of season 2.
This was a good video. Thank you for the thorough analysis.
Shes also the second monkey bomb. Small, helmet makes her look like it, three gems that explode taking away vander. In the cave she even claps like it.
Great editing for the vid! And well done on the presentation of the information. You did a great job :)
"good to see Jayce isn't the only one" OH MY GOD
I noticed the subscribe button lighten red on the border. That's so cool and wild 😂❤
Lol you made me cry 😭 I really hope Jynx becomes a hero❤
Nerd here. You used the scientific spelling of Jinx, stemming from the scientific name of the wryneck, which was often associated with bad omens due to witchcraft. I just know birds, don't ask.
I don't want her to be dead!!!! She quickly became my favorite character and then they had to go explode her. please don't be dead! 😭
Yeah getting attached to a caracther thats not a champion has always worked well
theres also the parallel of how many hex cores were put in the gun, powder also put three in the monkey when sh try's to help in season 1
I think based on her actions , when she smiled and closed her eyes before shooting Warwick, it made me think she knew she would die.
It’s sad though because after she sacrificed herself it was like she was forgotten she wasn’t mentioned after.
8:53 made me cry again and again and again..
About time I found a video just on Isha
About to watch this
I want to know her backstory
I mean where are her parents
Why is she so willing to delete herself for the cause?
I think she sees Jinx as the face of the cause, so imo she ended herself to protect the movement against topside
Amazing video you really touched on some great points. Subscribed ❤😊
Are you all seeing that the time stop at the end of the episod ? Nobody talk about that but it’s cearly ekko who came back. Sadly, i don’t think he will save isha ( the explosion already happen and it’s better for the scenario i suppos, even if i hope not 😅
Even if he is back he doesnt suddenly have his Z drive. He might make it later with new knowledge, but he for sure cant turn back time yet
I'm super excited to see Jinx fight. When she went 1v1 against Vander and Ambessa's guard it was total “Cinema” haha.
One thing I noticed is that every time (or almost every time) Jinx was defeated, she lost because they grabbed her hair.
Crazy how jinx then sacrifices her self for Vi. Basically a tribute to how the kid did for jinx.
She always wants to kill herself for a goal
Despite the clickbait-ish title, this was a powerful analysis about a great original character. Good stuff, looking forward to more.
Her arc is great as is, she fulfilled her purpose, bringing her back would serve nothing to the story and would greatly diminish her sacrifice and rewatching episode 6 after discovering she's alive would make the scene completely dull and devoid of true meaning.
thank you for this.. still heartbroken over her death though
"jinx final form" in act 3, hopeless jinx, tried to kill herself, die with a sacrifice
the end made me cry, very nice speech

"Because you know, BLEP!"
How dare you man, how dare you. Making me laugh so hard at this is unjust.
Why did this show have to be so good. Now I have to think about it
Awesome analysis, I really enjoyed it, I think you covered it very well.
Guys, completly out of context but....WHERE DE F*CK IS HEIMERDINGERS PET??!! The fluffy white ball? what happened to it? T_T
WAIT WHERE IS HEEEE
I love this show, like a lot, like I’m a grown man who cried at many different parts, I wish there was more of the show. Does anyone know if more shows or movies from this universe will be created ?
7:30 did not age well with Act III
Great video btw!
- this had nothing to do with the video but I just noticed this everytime a TH-cam say subscribe, the subscribe button glows red 😂
