Great review of a great bike. I have loved my 14 Vee since I bought it new when it came out. It has taken me on/off road everywhere I have wanted to go. Exactly right.........low down grunt, real world power. I have a Ducati Multistrada with DVT and it is not happy under 4k rpms. Ridiculous. The vstrom pulls smoothly from 1500 rpms with a passenger. And smooth............
In your other video about why you got the Africa twin you said that the v strom was kind of boring to ride. But in this video every time you accelerate your giggling like a school girl with the power. What was boring about it?
It's a blast to ride. But a bike has to look good sitting in the garage. After getting off the bike, then you look back at it and say "damn you look sexy"! Vstrom does not give me that feeling. At least not in black. Maybe the red or blue will be better. The Vstrom is just a basic bike compared to the Africa twin, bmw and ducati. Those bikes have a sense of "presence and pantomime" to them. Vstrom is a great bike, is a step up from the Honda nc700x (grown up version of the nc700x, in fact is what the nc should have been.) Is the cheapest for a reason. Every person is different with different tastes and riding characteristics. For me, I really wanted the bmw. Bit like most of us I can't afford it. So I settled for second best and that's the Africa twin. I'm extremely happy with it. In my next video (comes out in a week) I took the Africa twin in the woods and "IT WAS BRILLIANT!" I even found an abandoned WWII cemetery. Not sure if I would have gone through the thought sections in Vstrom. I probably would have never discovered the cemetery in the woods.
How was the wind protection with the puig screen? I've got a vstrom 1000 2014 and im looking for a windscreen thats just a bit taller (which the puig is). Thanks in advance and safe rides!

v strom is better for the road and africa offroad simple as that.

At 5'10 kept turbulent wind off my helmet. It works as described.
