I can feel too bad for a team with a pedigree like Kentucky's, but I hear you. No idea if you'll teach the heights you reject at Kentucky, but I think Pope will do well.
As a UK fan, I am 100% disappointed. KY should have been looking at Donovan, or, Pitino. Pope has little to no experience, plus, he hasn't even won a NCAA tournament game. HORRIBLE hire, I'll not be watching UK again until Pope is gone. I'll give him 3 years, he will then be fired. This will hurt the program, even more. I hope I'm wrong.
I'm starting to see why coaches didn't want to come to Kentucky. You realized Kentucky hasn't been much more than a lottery pick factory for like 5 years. Pope has more proven success than Scheyer or David did.
Bro we give coach cal a lifetime contract, (dumbest shit I've ever heard), now we're giving a no name coach with a 0- 2 post season record a contract with one of the best basketball programs on earth. Yall can keep this guy

That's confident considering all the other coaches that said no. Anyway, he's a solid coach, but he seems to have a ceiling. At least Pope gives you some upside, but it admittedly comes at a risk.
