    I didn't watch the game, but I saw, at a quick glance, she got T'd up in the highlights of that game. Now, there was no mention of why she got T'd up, so this is the first I'm hearing the reason the referee for doing it. I'm 60 years old; 61 in a couple months. I've been following the game of basketball since Dr. J was a New Jersey Net in the old ABA. I've watched Frazier, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Ewing, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Westbrook, Curry, Durant, Embiid, and Jokic. I've also watched Ann Meyers, Nancy Leiberman, Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes, Taurasi (back in the day), and Staley (also back in the day). That has got to be the _stupidest_ justification for a technical I've ever heard and I've been following the game pushing on a half-century. Brockman is absolutely 100% on point.

      I'm with you. I go back just a little further. I started watching college and pro basketball during the - UCLA's Kareem, then Lew Alcindor, Jerry West. Pistol Pete and Earl Ths Pearl Monroe, still my favorite player of all time, days. I don't think I've ever seen a tech like that before either. Maybe I've seen a few where the player throws the ball real hard at the stanchion. He may get a tech because that thing could possibly careen off the side or he might miss it and hit someone.
      However, Caitlin being hit with a tech because she was frustrated with herself was a shameful move by the referee. Had he said something like 'you showed aggression towards my call' I might could dig it but saying she disrespected the game? Good gracious. I'm not 100% sure but I think this ref has made some very questionable calls against Caitlin and other Fever players before. This guy might be seriously trying to make a name for himself.

    • @coachkitchen3904
      @coachkitchen3904 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      They are only telling her side of the story. Caitlin tripped earlier and was complaining because she didn’t get the call. Then she felt her teammate was fouled and didn’t get the call. She was going on about that and then the ball went out of bounds and she was mad and slapped the goal support. The ref was walking away and caught end of her slapping the support and it looked like she was slapping because she was mad about the no calls. Maybe she was slapping it, because she was mad about missing the shot, but she was just going off about the no calls, so the ref probably thought that’s what it was about. It wasn’t as simple as she made it sound.

    Clark doesn't get picked for the Olympic team. SO what does she do? Did she have a melt down in front of the media. Nope. The most she did that got reveled to the public was to tell her coach the Olympic committee had just made a mistake, How did Clark use her time off. A few media interviews the first couple days. Vacation time with a number of her team mates, working to build a bound with them. Then a warm up camp before play resumed. So the WNBA gave Clark, by not putting her on the Olympics, the chance to build rapore with her team mates, get to practice with them in a more organized and casual manner, and reload to burst out with some dynamite wins at the restart of the season. The secret weapon Clark has is her understanding of motivating the team around her. She a star, but she being sure the rest of the team is getting their share of shots too.

The ref thing is weird though. Aren't they supposed to be fair? Right, because the difference is, in the men's situation there wasn't somebody Team USA left at home that you'd be asking yourself, "would the game still be this close if 'he' was here right now." Whereas, for the women's game, there was an obvious player that's really good at making 3 point shots and Team USA was only 2 of 12 from beyond the arc in their gold medal game. So you might ask yourself, "gee, is there anybody that we could've brought to Paris that's really good at shooting 3s?" The men's team already brought Steph Curry along, so your point is invalid.
