How I'm Decorating My Front Porch For Fall! Unique Pumpkin Varieties, Mums, and Corn Stalks! Zone 5B

Hello Garden Gals and Guys! Fall has arrived! Today I take you along with my family and I as we decorate our front porch for Fall. I love using mums and unique varieties of pumpkins and gourds to add some dimension and interest to the design. This year I also found REAL Corn Stalks with actual corn on them, which I'm incorporating for some vertical interest and texture as well...also because I'm originally from farm country and love having a little bit of corn back in my life. Reminds me of harvest time. :)

Great family project! I hope that your neck and back improve. I love to pot up pansies. My sister brought over a lot of colorful pumpkins that she grew, so I am lucky to have those. I also was at Genslers Gardens in Loves Park last month and got a Popcorn pumpkin, which I love. It is new this year as well as Grizzly Bear and Lemonade pumpkins. I love finding new varieties. We received 2.8 inches of rain last week and we are quite wet. It has been so cloudy and below normal. The soil doesn't dry out as easily this time of year, with bulb planting around the corner. Oh wow, those sound amazing...hoping to have a pumpkin patch of our own next year! Same here on the rain...very wet. I'm workin' on my back and neck - I think we're getting there slowly, but surely! I believe I am DONE with bulb ordering and will begin planting in a few weeks. Hi Jill! We actually don't get any besides our two neighbor boys, which is a little bit of a bummer, but maybe in the coming years we'll get more!
