    The plane always yaw's and rolls with the gear down... it will feel funny till they are up. Once its up then all good. Even my FW 90mm feels the dame with gear down. But glad to hear that it was just a bad battery! I need to do a show on how to test for that again so people can see.... Firey Booty looked good!! Great flights!! Takes a lil bit to get used to the landings so dont feel bad... Good Job!!

    Sweet rotation! It's great that you figured out that the issue was a bad battery. Consider using SMC 5000 packs - they're a huge improvement in performance. Nice work man!

      Thanks man! I will get this to high alpha better here soon when I get some more flights on it. Constantly working so it is hard to break away. I will consider using the SMC packs. 🤙🏽

    Nice catch! I move the battery almost all the way backwards. It’s more controllable with heavier tail. Also, I’d ready recommended the flaperons and even thrust reverse so you can land slower and stop it on the ground quickly :)
    It looks great 👍🏻

    • @hamiltonshangar

    Good vid!
    A few friendly suggestions since you and your girlfriend/ camera woman are obviously interested in enthusiastically sharing your hobby, thanks for that. These have been successful techniques and teach good habits to maximize opportunities for success.
    You are probably aware of many of these points but many of your viewers probably are not, especially those new to RC and EDFs.
    Referencing the manual for battery recommendations “50C or greater” and setup, etc.
    I’m sure you check all your batteries prior to each flight but new pilots won’t assume that, actually showing it and stressing the per cell voltage/ C rating and condition or using telemetry (when available) is setting a great example.
    Preflight control check- stressing that really quick stick movements verifies the receiver and servos work but checking proper control deflection should be deliberate and is needed on each takeoff- too many planes lost due to reversed ailerons after a quick twitch of the sticks!
    “Shakedown flight”- once trimmed and checked for anything loose after initial flight doing a shakedown with slow flight and stalls with recoveries up high in all configurations, clean- gear up and dirty- gear down. Gets the pilot comfortable with the entire flight envelope at a safe altitude vs at 10’ on short final on first landings. You mentioned in vid about being fast and getting it slower. You can simulate those landings up high, slowing to a stall and recovery so you actually know the limits.
    Also discussing your repairs if necessary- adhesives, parts, etc. Beacon Foam Tac on EPO foam vs Epoxy and CA which can be brittle.
    I only offer this because you are enthusiastic to share and that’s great. Adding emphasis on these points will serve the “lowest common denominator” as far as knowledge and experience is concerned.
    Keep up the good work. Good luck.

    Nice. Been flying mine with 6000 packs and actually prefer those to the 5200's. Also not using flaperons. Initial flights i put in full flap but found roll control was lacking on final. I then went half flap and finally none. Just raised the nose to slow it and use throttle.
    With practice you'll get the landings. She looks so good in the air. Only issue I've found is wing waggle in AS3X mode. I tried dialing down the gain on the roll (at 30% now) but still there. If you can fly that Su-30 then you'll love this one the same if not more.

    • @hamiltonshangar
      @hamiltonshangar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jeff, thank you! I hope you can get the waggle situated. I do miss that su-30. Probably would have never sold it if I knew it would be discontinued. Cheers

      Which battery are you using, Rolling Top, Admiral, etc, and how much time are you getting with the 6000 pack?

    • @hamiltonshangar
      @hamiltonshangar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Admiral 6000 pro and I flew it for four minutes the other day before crashing. Thank you for watching

    • @jeffbrundt7740
      @jeffbrundt7740 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pittsburge88 I set my timer at 3.5min and usually land right at that mark. I have about 40-45% left in the pack. I'm using packs i got off Amazon. Hoovo, Zeee, century...they perform pretty good. I use throttle management and try to not blast around at full throttle the whole flight. Also not heavy with high alpha stuff either.
      High alpha is gonna use up your pack faster so if you plan on doing it limit your time. Like most EDFs you have to respect the timer.

    Order I've been flying mine with 4,000 milliamp batteries and getting 3 minutes of flight I have a couple of 5,000 I use but The landings with the 4000 I mean you can't beat it it floats in touches on the mains the nose gear stays in the air for a few seconds then settles in
