I love how easy it is to high alpha. I've flown one without the as3x and I can say it makes a world of difference. I usually don't go the gyro route, but with this one it just makes it so easy and fun. Really a fun jet! 😁 Nice job buddy!
I think the instability Tony calls out might be from Jon’s rear leaning CG preference. The closer the CG is to the rudder and stabs, the shorter the moment arm they have to work with. Obviously if the fins of a dart are close to the CG they aren’t very stabilizing.
It a good jet if you have spektrum and as3x but without it, it can be bit tricky to fly if you haven’t have much experience on edfs, there also a freewing f16 70mm which is very similar to that but different colour and cheaper, I fly both of them and they are fun to fly!
Thanks for the review Brothers !!! I plan on flying this jet and a FMS Viper on my first EDF flights. But I have a Arrows F-86 that will be a good first EDF experience too. Listening and learning 👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻
70mm is great to get into jet flying, 80mm is great for learning how to actually handle jet flying. Still well behaved but quite abit heavier and there can be consequences for improper flying
Great video, thanks. Just found your channel and subbed. Do want to recommend to keep the music down when you are talking could barely understand you there at the end. Thanks!
That has way more to do with the wind that cropped up rather than the ending theme, but good point. We should have subtitled that section. Thanks for checking us out!
I have this jet. Think horizon did a better job on the 80mm landing gear. They have better shock absorbed struts. The 70 nose gear binds real easy. After buying two nose gears and having them bend because we have a real short runway at our field. I bough a good quality Allen wrench. And cut it the same length of the pin ant cut notches for the set screw. Way better don't bend anymore.
We've never seen any issues with the gear when landing softly using F-16 landing techniques (holding nose up on approach) on pavement - so we can't corroborate any issues you might be experiencing.
I'm challenge you to make a video of f-16 or f-22 touch and go but the rules is keep the nose wheel in the air while main landing gear is on the ground and then go around and repeat it a few time
Does Hangar 18 Hobbies ship worldwide? It’s really hard to find RC shops locally since they’re focused on rotorwing drones and crawlers. I’d love to have an RC jet!
We don't think it's an issue of power. Rotation is harder to achieve with this jet because of the fixed stabilators. The 80mm jumps off the ground with a little stick pressure with less rollout.
@@TwoBrosRC Thanks! Regarding the fiery booty afterburner; I remember watching one of your videos where you indicated your disdain for the name as well as the product itself, and I was just wondering your rational for your conclusion.
We just don't find it to be an appropriate name for an afterburner product. It sounds more like hot sauce. We've never used it so we can't speculate on it, nor do we know what the pricing is because there's no publicly available pricing.
Ok Thanks for your answer. I have a little corsair and it flys very well, i would reccomend you to try out flying a Corsair. Its from Horizon Hobby. Tom

Thanks man! Always appreciate your perspective on stuff. It's also refreshing to hear praise for gyros.

That could be possible for sure. More likely though is that the roll gains just need to be tamped down slightly.

deff a great flying bird, i love mine, I went ahead and did the flaperon mod and it helped greatly to get off on grass runways.cant wait to see video👍
Does anyone have directions on how to do the flaperons?
It's in the setup section of the maiden for this jet.

Real nice indeed, we have subscribed 😎

Great 4+ minute flight time. Is it with smc 4500 6s ?
Two 4000 packs were used here. Tony's flight was on a Smart 4000 50c 6s pack (in the description) and Jon's flight used a SMC 4000 6s 40c pack.
@@TwoBrosRC was it nose heavy with a 4000? Would you recommend a 3200 instead?
3200 would be a solid choice but we saw no adverse characteristics with a 4000 pack.
@@TwoBrosRC good to know thanks.

No thanks, the runway we fly from isn't wide enough.
Hello Jon how about doing a video on rehinging a foam control surface?
Already did, check our video history. 😊
How's this stand-up to the freewing 70mm?
No idea, never flew the FW version.

I think they would if you asked them to, but it wouldn't be cheap unfortunately.
Does it come with side wyders?
It does, we removed them.
I had it and its so underpowered.
It's really not underpowered at all - we're not sure how you're coming to that conclusion.

Two questions: what video camera are you using and what's your issue with the fiery booty led afterburner?
We use a Sony AX53. We're not sure what you mean by "issue".

@@TwoBrosRC What a coincidence, I also use the AX53. However, I am not getting the same quality video out of mine. Which Shooting Mode are you using?
@@pittsburge88 We shoot in 120 FPS at 1080p.
Hey jon
How are you?
Can you say anything about the 1400mm corsair from fms?
Thanks
We're doing fine, thanks for asking! We've never flown it so we can't speculate on it, unfortunately.
Ok
Thanks for your answer.

Its only a few dollars
six times less than your cool jets
👍
Appreciate the info, thanks!
I think I can help you get more insta followers
Eflite F-16 vs Eflite F-15?
Maybe!
Can it be my first jet? I have a maule m7 from E-Flite and want to get a jet.
Absolutely it can be. Just be gentle with it and you'll enjoy it for years.
Hence why we mentioned that we fly with 85% rudder expo which significantly tamps down the ground handling issues.
Thanks
I just bought it as my first edf Flys like a baby in safe. U can't wait to fly it again
"Hangar 18" :) "An old good movie" Those big scale planes aren't relaxing :)
So it'll cost 400 dollars for the jet.??
Comes with everything needed..
Really jet engine or electric??
It's Bind & Fly - you need a transmitter and battery at minimum. It's an EDF jet meaning it uses a battery to power the fan.
Beginner's plane!? Bump it up $220 and get yourself in the seat of the real deal. Who's crying now?
We'll stick to flying something we actually own, but thanks!
