Sorry, I’m not sure. I was just informed by some viewers in the comments. I have no idea when the new revision came into place or how you can check if that’s what you ordered. You can always ask them if there are mounting holes though.

What an absolutely excellent presentation. No mumbling, no irritating word whiskers like excessive um’s or aah’s and no excessive speech volume modulation which makes you too loud for a few words then impossible to hear for the next few words like so many TH-cam presenters. OUTSTANDING!!! In fact you should run a school for motormouth TH-cam presenters who sound more like Rappers than instructional presenters. I really enjoyed this. I’m hoping this Thrustmaster HOTAS will also work on the upcoming MS Flight Simulator 2020 and XBox series X. That will be my perfect system.
Aw thank you for the feedback! Good to know I’m doing something right ;) As for the Xbox Series X, I’d recommend picking the Xbox version of this HOTAS (HOTAS One). I’m not sure if it’s totally compatible with Xbox series X as it’s for Xbox One (hence the “One” in the name) but given that it’s still Xbox, I think you’ll have a better bet with the HOTAS One than the HOTAS 4.
When TH-cam recommends me something honestly never expect it to be a smaller channel kudos man whatever you did in this video you do right and well I’m sure it’s something with watch retention but you do good job describing everything and simple clear instructions but Keep up the good work mate
I have never made a comment on a TH-cam video, because most are just daft. Be here is a lesson well demonstrated of how to make one. Well planned. Lots of preparation. Scripted. organised. Informative. Good tech set up, tested before shoot, again good planning. Excellent presentation. Explanation then demonstration followed critiques or questions answered. Slow, steady, articulate delivery so we understand the product and review. And a little humour of course. Brilliant brilliant brilliant .... I have watched several reviews of this on TH-cam but this has been the best by far. Well done. By the way I have just ordered mine online. Difficult to get hold of a hotas at a reasonable price just now, maybe because of lock down, but it seams to be just the job for me.
Informative review. Been looking at reviews for about three days now, and you are the ONLY one who mentioned how many buttons the thing has, and had a visual idea on how long the cable is between the stick and throttle. Give this dude a medal! 🙂
Great video. I have this HOTAS, it actually has mounting holes now, 2 in each half. It's also doubled in price since I bought it in December of '19, but all HOTAS have gone up significantly in price in 2020. Seriously, though, fantastic review. Keep it up.

Yeah, I figured the same. Plenty of people quarantining deciding they finally had time to work on their gaming station or just getting more into gaming period. I can see that having driven up the price.
FINALLY!!! a reviewer that actually played in EXPERT FLIGHT MODE! and also a great freaking review that addresses the actual pros and cons of the device.
If you're looking for what I would consider the next step up in price and quality I highly recommend the t16000m. It feels great, and pairs nicely with the rudder peddles. There is even a flight back with the peddles, joystick, and throttle.
You said that the cable between them when you want to split them is 90 centimeters? All other reviews said it's only about 45 to 50 cm. Can you check that?
I didn’t say the cable was 90cm. I said that when separated, the units can be separated by 90cm at most, meaning the leftmost end of the throttle to the rightmost end of the stick are about 90cm apart. The cable is approximately the length you mentioned.
Not only do you have the feeling of being in a cockpit but you get more precise controlls so simply putting the throttle at a spot and leaving is is easy, and for the actual stick you can have more presise movements instead of your thumb making them all.
This would be great for war thunder simulator battles, arcade battles would be harder with it because mouse aim makes the game super easy. If they add support for Hotas systems for the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons game, I’m going to buy one!
I do like how you demonstrated this with different types of flight games, instead of just primarily focusing on Microsoft flight sim. This review gave me a better idea that I can use it for the combat flight games I have. Maybe I'll try some Velcro scrips on the bottom for my temporary set up when it arrives.

I’ve never tried the original HOTAS X, so I don’t have an opinion about it. But based on the things I’ve read, I didn’t want it to be an issue since I was gonna keep it for a while before upgrading again.
Great review. My wife and son just got this for me for Father's day. A few years ago they got me a PSVR and steering wheel, but this was sold out. I finally got this and can't wait to try it out on my PS5.
Is there a way to look around while flying a plane? In the cockpit for dogfighting it's very important that you keep eyes on your target as much as possible so I just wanna know if there's a way to look up down left and right while still flying the plane
Yes actually. You could try VR if your simulator/game supports it. VR provides unmatched visual immersion, however VR sets can be a bit pricey, and you may get motion sick because while your eyes see that you’re moving in game, your body feels like it’s stationary. Another option is TrackIR (or something similar, there are a few other methods out there that achieve the same effect). This basically uses an IR camera which tracks a head-mounted IR reflector to detect the orientation of your head, and the view in game will rotate to match where your head is looking, similar to VR. This method is cheaper than VR while also reducing the chance of motion sickness, but it doesn’t feel as immersive. Hope this helps :)

True, but I wish there was an official mounting system rather than needing to DIY a solution. However, some people have told me that their units came with mounting holes. My guess is that it’s a new revision, which means this shouldn’t be a problem for new buyers.
I don't know if anyone suggested this yet. But maybe you could use velcro on the bottom of the flight stick and throttle to help keep it in place. That would help if you use it on a table.
I'll be getting this soon for XB as I miss playing games with a joystick. My first PC game was Mech Warrior 4 and I LOVED using a joystick to play it. I want to get back into that. As far as it being to light, that would annoy me. I am trying to brainstorm and think of a way to fix that issue as I play at my desk for both XB, PC, and PS. I'f I come up with something, I'll be sure to let you know.

Adding g29 racing wheel/a neat g27 shifter and embrace along with $70 metal wheel frame stand (moveable) Budget immersion. Well presented info thanks happy gaming
I'm a bit late to the party here Tech2Papa ;-)...I've got the Logitech EXTREME3DPRO and you are so right, it doesn't have the immersion with the little throttle lever. I've just ordered the HOTAS4 to use with primarily, MSFS 2020 and the H135 Airbus helicopter...might even order some rudder pedals a bit later on for that more immersive experience. I also recommend voice attack on steam. It's a program that allows you to convert your voice into inputs in games or anything really. Super cool in elite dangerous for all sorts of commands and frees up buttons from less important buttons like landing gear and fuel scoop.
I’m sorry, I’m not sure if that would work. You could check on the game’s website if the HOTAS is natively supported, and if it isn’t, you could search for mods that make it work.
I have the hotas one my problem is that my mouse x or arrow is stuck in the middle of the screen . i need the mouse to interact with the rest of the aircraft any suggestions?
Wait, did you get the HOTAS 4 for Xbox One? The HOTAS 4 isn’t compatible with that console, but the HOTAS One is. If you got the HOTAS One, make sure to check if the game is compatible with the stick, and that the axes are assigned properly.
I’ve never seen that issue before. Did you verify that all the axes and buttons work on PC? You can plug it in and check by searching for “Set Up USB Game Controllers” on Windows and going to properties. If they all work, then it might be an axis assignment problem or simply that the game doesn’t support HOTAS controls.

Thanks! There should be a way to change them in the controls page within the game, but I’m not sure if Farming Simulator 22 supports this, so you may not be able to change the key bindings for it.

I just used Velcro put one on my desk and one on the controller works just fine, when I'm not using it I just pull it off and set it aside.
I could actually build a box that u could slide it in and out of hell i could figure out all kinds of ways to do that

Easiest fix for the table mounting situation is to use heavy duty adhesive Velcro on the bottom of the controller and the table surface.

Rudder pedals are not necessary, as this HOTAS has a rocker switch behind the throttles that are meant to act as rudder pedals.

I got it for xbox one and the stick won't make the plan pull up or down, idk what to do
Wait, did you get the HOTAS 4 for Xbox One? The HOTAS 4 isn’t compatible with that console, but the HOTAS One is.
If you got the HOTAS One, make sure to check if the game is compatible with the stick, and that the axes are assigned properly.
@@Tech2Papa yeah I got the hotas one. It does everything it has to do for the plane except pulling up and down.
I’ve never seen that issue before. Did you verify that all the axes and buttons work on PC? You can plug it in and check by searching for “Set Up USB Game Controllers” on Windows and going to properties. If they all work, then it might be an axis assignment problem or simply that the game doesn’t support HOTAS controls.

There should be a way to change them in the controls page within the game, but I’m not sure if Farming Simulator 22 supports this, so you may not be able to change the key bindings for it.

There are threaded holes on the bottom of both pieces to bolt it down, if you've got some bolts and drilled some holes in the table.
Hmmm I’m not sure if those are used for mounting. Seems those holes are just for accessing the screws.
@@Tech2Papa there are some that just hav e brass threads inside. You would have to find some screws that fit the threads, but they are for mounting.
