  • This story is all too common these days - thank you Jonny for being open about your past so it hopefully won't become other people's future.

As someone who’s had 7 major surgeries, what he’s saying is true. I remember morphine for the first time at 17, best feeling ever. Then i was hit with percs and Vicodin. Other surgeries i was given fetynal, diluden. I don’t have an addictive personality like he does, but i can understand why the opioid crisis is as bad as it is.

I’m a recovering opiate addict, I know how fucked it is. I know many people don’t care anymore, no offense to him, but I hope Johnny is doing alright these days. I have two more months of Sublocade and I’ll be done with opiates altogether. Couple more weeks of Gabapentin taper. I hope he’s got a healthy support system around him. I wouldn’t have made it out if I didn’t have the family I do. People just don’t understand how insanely difficult it is.

Yep I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for my family, opiate withdrawal is the worst thing a human can go through as far as I’m concerned

May I ask is the subblocade better than traditional Suboxone? I know from personal experience the w/d of traditional subs were gnarly

This man played such a pivotal point in my life during my teens. I always wanted to meet him but I heard he was awful to his fans and that would of ruined me, so I never tried. Looking back it’s probably because he was in his addiction and I’ve been there myself since my teens. So I can understand to a degree.

I met him when he was starting with Slaves, and honestly he was great! He interacted with all his fans. I even called him short and he laughed and was like yeah I know. I guess this was when he was “better”

Ive been to every show in Arizona of Jonnys/Slaves/Any other project hes done or been a part of since 2014. I've met him numerous times and taken photos and had very limited conversations with him. There was never a time he has EVER been anymore than a complete sweetheart to me and others ive seen him interact with. I've met him at all different times to, before the show, between sets, and after his performance. Adding to his defense me and most other fans were annoying 15 year old fangirls. But none of these factors played a part in how he treated us. I believe one show he got heckled and was still kind towards fans after the show. The things Jonny is known for that are shitty of him leads back to his addiction. His biggest scandal is definitely the macbooks he "sold", collected funds for, and never shipped. Another time he stated that due to finances or recording label issues he was unable to produce music, which he then was given donations by fans. In the end it seemed to not be true but im not sure if there was concrete evidence it was a lie. Theres also the Taylor Dean toxic/abusive relationship that they had which led her to begin using that people have a problem with him for. But like i said all these things stem from his addictions. I by no means am saying he is an angel, but as an opiate addict trying to get my life together after years of drug use I can say the things ive done during my addiction Id never dream of sober. But than again I have to take responsibility for those actions and accept I was a shitty person. Point is, if you have the chance to meet an artist you look up to, do it. Of course anything can happen but its still a memory none the less.

I'm 10 years clean off the horse. A musician as well. Jonny is one of the best vocalist in the world hands down. With a gift like that I'm glad he's doing better. Last time I seen him he was sober than relapsed shortly after and now sober again and back on his grind. People love and hate this guy but personally being a fan and fellow addict unless you been in our shoes you have zero clue what you would do just to feel not sick! I've seen his ups and downs and I'm glad he's alive and well and using his talent to do good! An amazing dude with one hell of a voice!

The sickness from a big habit is the worst suffering I’ve felt, anyone who thinks they wouldn’t lie, cheat or steal to make it go away has no idea what it’s like and I hope they never do.

    • @LessOfMyselfToKill_187

@@sore_forey9259 A quote I heard the other day was "Addiction is one of the most human thing ever" which caught me off guard until I heard what the rest of the doctors speach. Everyone has that one thing that they must have and removing that thing will not only change a person but their chemistry. It was definitely more in depth than that, but the addiction that we today deal with is mostly always tied to drugs. I have over a decade clean and still don't feel the same. I still even dream about getting high. That's how much years of abuse no matter how much clean time you have everyday is a battle to stay clean. That's why when I see someone suffering I never judge or say anything negative about them bc I know how it is to be at rock bottom and it was until I had something to live for and felt like I deserved love and everything I once had before getting fed pills after an accident that spiraled out of control. I would never wish what anyone who has gone through what a we've been through any of the shit that addiction has to offer. Which is nothing but pain and even worse death. To look down on someone simply bc of a disease that they can't handle without a lot of help and guidance which a lot of people don't get that's why they relapse 20 times before they actually get sober. It's just something I personally can't hold against someone especially someone I love. Only if people opened their eyes and minds. Maybe then we will be considered just as human as "everyone else". Nobody wakes up and says "Hey I want to be an addict for 15 years". When people say we'll they chose that life I just want to throw them into a day of my former life and then hear them say it. And people who have judged got a taste and apologized to me years later and I always said that it wasn't me but being a slave to a substance. Hope you're doing better, and continue your personal journey to whatever makes you sane one day at a time! 🤘💪🏻🖤

No one knows there gonna be a addict instantly, you do it once and then again , then you notice your wanting it buying it weekly then you want it daily and then when you stop you get sick and find out when you do it you feel better keep doing it and that’s how addiction happens
